    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:17 AM PST

I want a fully fledged app that has features similar to Photoshop (layers, importing pics, manipulating pics, adding text, etc)

    What do you recommend?

Is there some type of app where someone can view your screen while you are writing on a whiteboard app?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2019 07:21 PM PST

I want to help my daughter who is in college with some math problems and would like for her to see my iPad screen as I am working through some problems with an Apple Pencil and some type of whiteboard app.

If she could connect via laptop (non-Mac), that would be a bonus. Otherwise she could just connect with her iPhone.

    iPad Pro shipping question

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 11:51 AM PST

Just ordered and iPad Pro this morning probably around 9:30. Chose express shipping as it said it would come tomorrow as regular said it would come on Monday and where I would not be home on Monday. It shipped already and Apple says delivery tomorrow but fedex says Monday. Which should i expect? It's also only shipping from another state next to me (PA to NJ). Thanks!

Waking 2017 iPad Pro Without Home Button/

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 10:57 AM PST

Is there a way to wake the 2017 iPad Pros without using the home button. I use gestures for just about everything. Getting to the homescreen, switching apps, viewing the dock, etc. I know there is on the 2018 models, but I'm not sure about 2017 ones. I'm using a 2017 12.9".

Your favorite "non-standard" apps for the iPad

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 10:27 AM PST

What are some iPad apps you really enjoy, but most people have probably never heard about? It can be from any app category.

I'm not looking for apps a fairly good percentage of iPad users already know (and perhaps love): Bear, Procreate, Netflix, 1Password, Pocket, etc., etc. Great apps, sure, but we all know about them. I'm looking for that one app you have that few others know about, but you use almost daily. Your hidden gem.

For me, I really love DailyArt. It's made by someone who clearly cares deeply about art. The app is visually appealing, it's educational, it has become part of my daily routine. Check the headlines, check my RSS feed, and then check DailyArt... For art lovers, especially art history lovers, it's a great app.

What are some others that are special to you, although perhaps not yet widely known?

iPad Pro 2018 for business student?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 05:20 AM PST

    Hey everyone!

I have been using old fashion paper and pen to take notes for my Business management degree since first day. I'm really interested in getting an 11inch iPad Pro to take notes in either Notability, Goodnotes or OneNote. My only problem is, I can't justify paying around $900 (iPad + Apple Pencil 2) just for a note taking device (Right off the bat lets discard the other iPad models since the don't support Apple Pencil 2, which has a double tap feature and a competent way of charging). Then, it should be able to be my main device. Problem there is, I'm not sure an iPad can replace my laptop; Excel for iPad is missing so much, browsers are mobile versions which are incomplete and maybe it'll have more limitations I don't know about yet. So then I guess I'm forced to carry both devices...

I know iPad may work for a ton of other students in other careers, but I think my biggest limitation would be Excel, which is a must in my career (tho I don't do heavy Excel).

Any similar student who have had any experience with the iPad, I would really appreciate you share your story.

    Thanks :)

What's the best ipad pro 12.9 (3rd gen) case for artists?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2019 10:20 PM PST

I currently got a job for digital art that requires a lot of traveling to draw for their events. I've also heard this ipad can bend easily so a sturdy case while maintaining the pencil charge connection would be nice. Can anyone recommend me an affordable case regarding my situation?

Also what do you think of matte screen protector vs. tempered glass screen protector?

    Taking notes on the Ipad?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2019 08:06 PM PST

I've always thought taking notes with anything other than an apple pencil would be stupid, as you would get more legible notes with no frustrating accidental palm dots using good old pencil and paper. However, as I haven't bought myself notebooks for my classes yet and I'm a huge procrastinator, I've been forced to write on the iPad. And you know what? I kinda like it now.

That being said, I'm currently using a random stylus I bought from target, and my handwriting is atrocious with it. Do you guys have any suggestions on what stylus to get? Unfortunately, I can't get the Apple Pencil as I have an iPad Mini.

Looking for sleeve for ipad pro 12.9in (2018)

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:39 AM PST

Hi guys! I just got the new ipad pro for school, and I've been scouring amazon and a few other places for some sleeves to keep it in. Do you guys have any recommendations for sleeves that will fit my ipad snugly without much extra room? Bonus points if it's a vertical style sleeve! Thanks in advance!

    9.7" iPad Pro Case?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2019 08:02 PM PST

    Hi all,

I have the 9.7" iPad Pro, and I'm on the market for a new case. I recently bought one I thought I'd like, but it's for the 6th gen 9.7" iPad, so the magnets aren't appropriately placed. Any suggestions?

    iPad case texture?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2019 04:14 PM PST

Are there any iPad cases with a particularly good texture? I just got my first iPad (6th gen 2018) And I need to find a case for it as I'm an absolute clutz. Unfortunately I am worried about the texture as I really like the metal case and am reluctant to put any thing too plasticy feeling on it, and I also don't want a bunch of awkward extra bulk when I am trying to hold it which I think may be a problem with the folio cases although the stand option looks nice.

The iPad pro is not a pro device at all

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:23 AM PST

I am a computer scientist (PhD) and was looking for a lightweight device where I can do data analyses, edit some small videos most importantly use it as da digital notebook.

So I bought myself an iPad Pro 11". The device is amazing digital notebook with Goodnotes. Just amazing. But that's is it. I've expected from the wording "pro" lots of more.

First limitation: the operating system. To be honest, I'm not a iOS user. I find iOS extremely "unfriendly" it literally teaches me how I should accomplish a task which I already know to do it. The devices won't fit my workflow. I have to fit to its workflow. Not pro if you ask me. Such a great device needs a better Mac/Linux orientated OS. The limitation of only having two apps opend at the same is not pro as well...

The hardware: the hardware is nice. But what really kills me, is the dongle life. When I bought it, i told myself "man, it's not that hard to carry some dongels with you". You can tell that I literally forgot the dongles like every day... the lack of ports makes it not really pro to me. Just yesterday I had a 10h videocall where I needed to use the AUX for audio and charge the iPad at the same time. Unfortunately I had no dongle for it ...

If I want to throw something on the bigger screen - I need a dongle. If I want to play some audio to the audience - I need a dongle.

This device is a really great device, no doubt about that. But it's not pro for my use case. It is ATM (looking for future iOS) just an Tablet with some fancy functionality.
