    App for solving handwritten math?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 11:09 AM PST

Is there an app, probably for newer iPads that support Pencil, that can recognize handwriting and do the math if you were doing some simple arithmetic?

I see some apps that exist to do algebra and even calculus and they're paid and probably deservedly so since I bet it's more complex to develop. But is there a function within an app (Numbers?) or a simple, free app that does basic arithmetic as you write it down?

    2018 9.7 iPad vs 2018 11" iPad pro?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:33 PM PST

What's the big difference between these two ipads? I'm looking to get one mainly for taking notes for classes and (hopefully) for medical school in the next couple years. I think easily being able to store my notes and keep them would be beneficial.

Both can use a pencil so is there any reason to spend roughly 500 dollars more on the 2018 pro for less gigabits?

Anyone using the Logitech K780 with the 2018 pro?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 08:30 AM PST

I like the appeal of the number pad but I really don't love the look of the "integrated device stand". Does it work well and look good with the 2018 pros? Trying to decide if the numberpad and integrated stand are worth it over the k380.

[Ask] How to keep/clean fingerprints off my screen?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 10:10 AM PST

I recently got the 9.7 inch iPad(2018 model) with the Apple Pencil and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm gonna be getting a keyboard soon, too, so I can use it to type stuff. This tablet is awesome and I love it. But there's just one problem tho. Fingerprints. The display is gorgeous, but it's getting fingerprints. Is there anyway to keep them off/clean them off completely?

They make it look so dirty, it drives me nuts. I remember the day I got it, I used the Apple Pencil exclusively, but eventually, you're gonna have to use your fingers(games, typing, etc) and it's just so aggravating.

I wash my hands before using it, soap and water, and dry them, and wait about 20 minutes so all the moisture gets out, and it still leaves fingerprints everywhere.

How can I get them off? Is there a sort of special cloth or spray I can use?

And is there any way I can keep dust off the display? Every time I use it there's dust. Not a lot, but a few specs here and there. So I wipe them off with a microfiber cloth, and there's more! It bothers me so much.

Picture in Picture (Facetime) Not Working, Help?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 10:38 AM PST

I have Picture in Picture enabled in "Multitasking & Dock" in General settings, but it doesn't work. I call on Facetime and click the home button but the PiP preview window is nowhere to be found. It works randomly, but it doesn't work so often that I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

    iPad Mini First Gen?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:30 AM PST

My friend just sold me his iPad mini first gen for $10. It's in almost brand new condition. I have a Amazon fire tablet that I use to watch netflix, youtube, read comics on the marvel app, and occasionally use reddit and Facebook. I want to use the iPad now as my nephew's and niece's have scratched and beat my Amazon tablet. What would be the best course of action with the ipad? I already did a fresh reset. I heard people reverting to old ios firmwares but couldn't download reddit unless the iPad was in iOS 10. I'm a bit confused as I don't usually use Apple products so any help from you guys is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

New iPad keyboard folio and weak magnet

    Posted: 11 Jan 2019 06:34 PM PST

I got mine right around Christmas and through daily normal use for work I find the magnet on the keyboard side to have significantly weakened. I am able to easily slide this side of the case away from its set position when closed. Is this the normal issue with all of these cases after use or is mine defective? picture

Weird battery depletion on iPad 11"?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2019 02:43 PM PST

Anyone else experience something like this? After charging and using it for a bit the battery lingers at 99-100% for quite a while. Then I close all apps and the screen, go do something else and come back 2-4 hours later to battery at 82-85%! How come it drops down so fast when NOT in use? This has happened all this week.

I always disable what I don't need to bluetooth, location and the likes are off and when I'm home on wifi so is cellural. Apps have the minimum permissions, screen time is off and I close apps if I'm about to leave the pad be.

I have the Pencil 2 and sometimes wonder if it has something to do with it. I use it in small doses so whenever it charges it's only for few %. This time I hadn't used to pencil at all so it was sitting attached to the iPad at 100%.

Not sure if it's my imagination but I feel like sometimes having the pen attached drains the battery and sometimes having the pen closeby drains the battery, as if it keeps "listening" for it (the double tap) but even when I've tested it around I can't get stable results: the battery can drain with the pen nearby and not using any apps that use pen or it's features, and sometimes the battery seems to last for ages when I draw a lot.

Is this normal? It's my first iPad so I have no idea.

    App for annotating textbooks

I'm looking for an app I can use to annotate a textbook using my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. Does one exist?
