Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:06 AM PST Any suggestions of good screen protectors? Had a look on amazon and they all seem useless and don't fit properly [link] [comments]
I got myself the Series 3 two days ago with some wireless earbuds. Posted: 02 Jan 2019 06:20 PM PST It's making me feel so futuristic lol This is my first watch and I absolutely love it. I'm not allowed to use my phone while at work but I do want music so I just use my watch and earbuds. I find myself not reaching for my phone as often to mess around. [link] [comments]

Thinking of starting a tutorial site, what would you like to see? Posted: 02 Jan 2019 04:16 PM PST Hey guys! If you don't know me, I'm Will Bishop, I'm 16, and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I started developing Apple Watch apps when I was 15, starting with Nano for Reddit, and then Chirp for Twitter. I've been writing Swift code for over 2 years and specializing in Apple Watch development since December 2016. You can keep up to date with my projects on Twitter. At the time of writing this I'm developing MiniWiki, in an attempt to bring Wikipedia to the watch for free. What do you want to see?For this blog I want it to be very user-focused, so let me know what you would like to see! Thanks [link] [comments]

Space Black Series 4 unscathed after a bad rub against hard rusted steel edge Posted: 03 Jan 2019 01:14 AM PST I have been a stainless steel silver owner since long and shifted to space black with series 4 for a change. Have since been worried about its durability to hold up scratches as I do not have the option anymore to polish it. Just yesterday I accidentally had a bad hard rub (24h hour side of the watch rim) against a strong rusted steel edge of a stair I was sitting on. The way it rubbed and the sound it made, I was sure that I had scratched it bad. Immediate look showed a streak. Rubbed it hard with the thumb and voila!! nothing at all. Everything rubbed off with not even a micro scratch left. Sharing this for those who who have doubts on space black durability .... I was also one of those till yesterday:) .... Of course a strong blow will certainly damage the steel and so will anything stronger than DLC coating or the DLC coated other object (e.g. black milanese loop). [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jan 2019 08:21 AM PST I received my Apple Watch (series 3, 42mm, aluminum, non-cellular) less than a week ago. With 5GB of storage, I only have 900MG left? It couldn't even update because I didn't have enough storage. Does anyone else have this problem? It says i only have 6 apps downloaded. I looked at my usage. I tried to erase all music and pictures. Some apps I never use (stocks for example) i can't delete. Does anyone else find this super annoying? Anything I can do? What's the point of the Apple Watch when I can't even have a couple apps on it? [link] [comments]

Cellular not working on Series 3? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 07:54 AM PST Hey r/AppleWatch! I have had a Series 3 for about 8 months now and I recently got a new IPhone for Christmas, (6s to XR). After I made the switch the cellular on my Apple Watch ceased to work. I have unpaired it, re-paired it, reset it, and updated it, none have resulted in success. Is there anything I can do to try and fix this or should I just try and take it to the apple store? [link] [comments]
Bad Luck Brian with new Series 4 Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:42 AM PST Well...I just purchased a new series 4 from Best Buy yesterday, after nearly two years with my series 2. Within that two year period, I probably swam upwards of three times a week, with absolutely no issues. So here I am this morning excited to strap on my new series 4 for its first swim. I hop in the pool, select the pool swim workout, and halfway through my first 25m, I see the watch reboot. Heading down for my first 100m, I see the watch reboot again...then again..:then the watch goes black. After I finish my swim I try to force restart the device to no avail. 15 mins after I get home, I feel the watch start to get extremely warm in my wrist so I take it off. I've contacted Apple Support and plan to visit my local Apple store this afternoon, anyone have any luck getting a watch replaced when they don't warranty water damage? Since I just purchased yesterday, I don't plan to go down without a fight, but I'm hoping since it's Apple and I've never had anything other than positive experiences, that they will just swap it in store. Flashlight - can it be set to default to red light instead of white when I turn it on? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:38 AM PST I know this is possible if the watch is in Theater Mode, but I want red flashlight as the default in normal mode. [link] [comments]
Alarm goes off on my watch not my phone. Why?? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:28 AM PST So I have my watch charging at night. When my alarm went off, expecting it to be from my phone, it came from my watch. The watch is on the "night stand" or whatever setting and I thought the alarm would still go through my phone. My watch was on silent so it just vibrated and I was lucky enough to already be awake otherwise I would've slept through my alarm! Any idea why this happened or how to ensure it goes off on my phone instead? [link] [comments]
How are you tracking your resting heart rate? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:22 AM PST I know that tracking your resting heart rate is a really important health indicator. I have multiple apps that track resting heart rate but I'm getting pretty different data between them. I'd like to be able to have averages for the month too. [link] [comments]
Heart rate monitoring issues during workouts Posted: 03 Jan 2019 05:44 AM PST I was gifted an S4 watch for Christmas and love it so far! However I seem to be experiencing some issues with tracking heart rate during workouts. Many times when I view the screen during a workout, the heart rate is grayed out and not reading. When the workout is complete, I almost never get a heart rate chart generated. I think I have maybe had it work once. It seems that there are not enough readings taken during workouts to create a chart. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? I have tried to research online and all of my settings seem to be in order and I believe I am wearing it tightly enough. I'm just hoping it's me and not an issue with the watch. Confused about exercise logging and don't want to double dip Posted: 02 Jan 2019 10:07 PM PST I'm a new owner of an Apple Watch and so I'm getting used to integrating it into my daily exercising. Prior to the watch I have been using apps like FitBod and MyFitness Pal, and now that I have the Apple Watch I am curious about how it handles multiple data sources. (and by "it" I suppose I refer to both the activity tracking and the general native "health" app on the phone). When I log a workout in FitBod, for example, it gives me an estimated number of calories burn, and the app has read and write access to my Health app. So, say I do a 45 min workout and the FitBod app logs it as estimated 320 calories burned. Now let's say that during this same period I had the workout log going on my Apple Watch, logging it under "Strength Training", so the watch is directly logging the time, heart rate, and active calories as I work out, and it records 300 calories. Does the Watch, and my Health app, know that these refer to the same activity, and it will use one of the sources as "priority"? Or will it count them separately, and so in my Health app it says I've burned 620 calories? I want to get the most out of my existing apps and the Apple Watch but I want to make sure I'm not "double dipping" on my exercises. On a separate but related question....there are some activities I can't wear the watch for (a soccer game, surfing--I know it's waterproof but being in the torrent of a wave is something else), and so I want to log those activities after the fact, which something like MyFitnessPal can do. I see that these logs don't "push" to my activity tracking though, and I believe it's because MyFitnessPal doesn't seem to have write access for active energy. So, I'm not sure how to log said activities. Anyone have ideas? [link] [comments]
Trying to change my body posture, watch app with haptic reminders? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 12:00 AM PST I am kind of looking for an app that can give me a nudge every...30 mins or so now as I try to better my body posture. Something that makes me aware of it, so it can be more and more a habit. Any suggestions? Thank you in advace :) [link] [comments]
Apple Watch S4 screen is strong Posted: 03 Jan 2019 03:35 AM PST I bought a Apple Watch only a few days ago so I'm still adjusting to having this expensive piece of hardware on my wrist. So far I have been extremely good at avoiding hitting my wrist on anything until I was walking through a narrow concrete corridor. I slid the watch across the wall at what felt to be pretty damn hard. I saw the glass had a few white lines down it which I was sure would end up being scratches which would end my life. I wipe what I thought were scratches and to my surprise the watch looks brand new still. Definitely will be more careful though, but this makes me a little bit more confident about using the watch at the gym and at work. Anyways, I'm now looking for a screen protector. Anybody have any suggestions [link] [comments]
Series 2 Owners - How is your battery holding up? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 03:14 AM PST So, I've had my S2 (38mm) for nearly two years now and the battery isn't quite what it was, which is to be expected on a device with such a small battery that gets regularly charged and discharged. The thing is that I'm not sure how much of that diminished life is due to Watch OS 5, or general battery aging. I raised an AppleCare incident yesterday and I'm sending my watch back for a battery replacement, as I've got less than two weeks before the AppleCare+ runs out and would rather not have to pay ~80ukp for a replacement battery in the future. How are other S2 owners faring with their devices? Have you had your battery replaced, and if so, did it make a difference? (I'm hoping to hold out another year or two before upgrading my watch to a Series 5 or whatever is about at the time) Thanks. [link] [comments] |
