Wondering if there’s a way to remove ESPN+ (only) from the Sports listings...

In the Watch Now app, the Sports tab aggregates info from authenticated sources, including the WatchESPN app. The problem for me is that I don't subscribe to ESPN+, and there are a ton of things that show up on the Sports tab as a result that are basically useless to me.

Is anyone aware of a way to only drop ESPN+ from the Watch Now listings while keeping the other valid/authenticated ESPN channels? Thanks.

[help] 4k ATV not sending signal to new LG OLED 55C8

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 03:33 PM PST

    Hello,

I've had my 4k ATV for a few months now and it was working great with my previous TV. I had my ATV connected to a receiver, which output to my old TV. My TV coincidentally crapped out last week and I bought a new TV, an LG OLED 55C8.

In order to narrow down my problem, for all of my inputs I am going straight to the TV via HDMI now. My gaming systems work fine - I can select their input from the TV and it works great. For my ATV, I am getting 'No Signal'.

I am using a Belkin HDMI cable that I bought from the Apple store when I bought my 4k ATV.

What gives?! Most of my googling is turning up issues with things like Dolby vision or calibration - I can't get that far yet as I don't seem to be getting any signal from the ATV itself!

I don't have a working TV that I can look at the ATV settings on and the iPhone remote doesn't actually let you do much on the ATV, so I can't poke around at ATV settings at all either :(

Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

edit: I have tried all of the HDMI ports on the TV with no change. in the LG menu, the HDMI input is listed as 'Active Input' but shows 'No Signal'.

    Location with no internet

Want to use a device, maybe an apple TV, to stream media from apps on my phone to the TV, without the device being connected to the internet directly. Just Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. Nothing crazy

Would having no wifi network prevent the apple TV from doing this?

I have an Apple TV 4K that I really want to connect via Ethernet to my router. But here’s my problem

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:32 AM PST

If you look at the [pic] you'll see the location of my ATV and TV. The router is right behind where I'm taking the pic. To the right is my desk with iMac ( I don't think that's really relevant) I could easily just place the Apple TV near the router and plug it in, but then wouldn't be able to connect the HDMI to the TV. If I leave the ATV where it is near the TV I could easily connect via HDMI but then cant to router. Any suggestions???? Yea I could run an Ethernet from router but would need like a 50' cable to stretch the room and go over that door. I can't go the other way cause there's a 10' entrance way opening. pic

    HDR over AirPlay 2?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 04:51 AM PST

Hi everyone! I'm interested to know whether or not anyone has had luck streaming HDR content to their Apple TV via AirPlay 2. My internet connection at home is pretty abysmal and I was wondering whether or not I could access HDR content via downloading a movie from iTunes in HDR onto my iPhone XS and then streaming it to my Apple TV 4K.

All of my devices in this process (e.g. my TV, ATV, and iPhone) can handle HDR. I'm not worried about 4K. Would this workaround for a slow internet connection work? Thanks!

Bluetooth issues with LG sound system.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 08:29 PM PST

I recently got s new SJ4Y sound bar, and I can only connect my Apple TV it via Bluetooth to it as my tv is mounted in the wall and it's pretty much impossible to run an hdmi cable to there currently, I don't use any other devices on the tv, just the Apple TV. The issue I am currently running into with it is that the LG sound bar will automatically go to sleep 15min after my Apple TV does, but when I turn my Apple TV back on later, the lg sound bar does not turn on with it, and I have to manually go back into the settings each time to reconnect it. Any ideas how to fix this?

    History Channel app authentication issue

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:27 PM PST

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the History Channel app in which when you go to authenticate your service provider credentials, I get a black screen after typing in the code instead of being routed to the DirecTV now site for authentication.

Is there an IPTV app for AppleTV that supports Match Framerate & Dynamic Range options?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:02 AM PST

What the title says. I've tried 3 so far, iPlayTV, GSE and Flex IPTV. None of them support matching the framerate or dynamic range of the channels. So all channels play in HDR @ 60FPS.

This is the only functionality that I still use my Smart TV for.
