    Just bought myself a MacBook Air on Monday and I don't know what the hell took me so long to get one! The last time I had an Apple computer, iPhones weren't yet a thing. I didn't realize how nice the iPhone and MacBook work together, and Touch ID is just such a wonderful and welcome feature.

    Are there any must haves, or things I should do or know? (It's a broad question, but I don't wanna miss out on any advice 😊)

    Should i get a windows laptop because of school work?

    So I'm an A levels student with major in IT, and like all the softwares we use for practicals etc are on windows. I have a MacBook Pro 2015 13 inch. My dad keeps on telling me rather pressuring me, i mean like he scolds me very seriously abt it saying i should buy a windows laptop since when i go to university everything is gonna be heavily on windows only. Idk like i see university students carrying macbooks all the time, and i love how premium the MacBook is, windows laptops r basically shit, low build quality worst trackpad and more or less shit. Yes there are a few premium windows laptops but they go way above the price, i bought the MBP for like 600$ second hand.

    Any suggestions?

    Which usb c magsafe adapter do you guys recommend?

    I have a 25 dollar amazon card from christmas and want to get a usb c magsafe adapter for my macbook pro 2017. I'm looking at these two and a common complaint with these are that they are too weak or don't support fast charging. I'd like to hear what you guys think, thanks. Link 1 Link 2

    Excessive host writes on brand new MBA 2017

    Greetings

    There is month since I bought my first macbook 13 2017 and now I have few questions about it, would be glad if someone could help with answer

    For that one month I have used laptop only for 46 hours surfing web at safari browser

    Today I was interested to see SSD wear statistics and was surprised a lot. Literally doing nothing expect scrolling web I have already burned out 1% of estimated endurance (0,5tb writes, 1,3tb readings) and power cycle count is also big

    I made some observations and discovered that kernel_task writes almost few gigs per 24 hours even while computer was at sleep mode

    I also already wiped whole system used recovery function at the day when I bought it because there was outdated OS and I want to have freshly installed brand new Mojave OS

    Both those actions above eats I'd say 100gb for kernel_task and clear installation might take other 100gb. But where from comes the rest 300?

    I should mention that MBA was brand new without any evidence of usage, box was factory sealed

    From the moment I discovered this, I avoid using the device scared to run out resource of SSD.

    I'm a paranoid?

    anyone have a gopro - how to fix laggy video?

    When I take a video on my gopro in 1080p, and transfer the video through the SD card to my photos app, the video is super choppy. However, it's perfectly fine when I record a video in 720p, how do I fix this?

    Is the CPU in a late 2009/10 Macbook Upgradable?

    The Macbook I have is the 7,1 MacBook from 2009 (or 2010, I find conflicting information online) (the model number is A1342). I was wondering that because of how the HDD and RAM in the computer are user upgradeable, I was wondering if the CPU was as well. Thank You for your answers in advance!

    Help with Macbook Purchase

    So im looking at purchasing a macbook, had a macbook for a while then went pc and im not too happy. right now im in between a 2017 macbook pro 15in, a 2018 macbook pro 13, or a new macbook air. any suggestions, id like something as future proof as possible and something that will last me as long as possible before needing to upgrade

    Shifting from MacBook pro 2015 to macbook 12" 2016?

    So i am a student and i have limited budget, upgrading to the next year MacBook pro will be impossible for me. Therefore i saw this option, the 8gb 256gb m3, macbook 12"

    Should i buy it? I do video editing sometime in final cut Pro, Photoshop and mainly word processing and web development. Will it do the task? Will it be laggy and slow like other m3? Also i dualboot windows cause most school related softwares require windows.

    What are your views??
