    Now this will be semi technical (iOS Developer here) but mostly you'll see it's simple to understand.

    So, iOS has 4/5 types of storage area types per app (depending on how you look at things). Now this includes Data used by the app or the Documents storage which the app exposes to the Files app and stuff. One such area is the Cache area and the special thing about it is that it's not counted against the storage of any app.

    Obviously, the cache size of all apps gets added to the system size. Now, don't think of this as a bad thing because cache will include a semi loaded state of a lot of app assets and data which allows faster app experience. Trust me, you do not want to manually clear cache... It's counter productive to have free space for nothing which might as well be used up for storing temporary files to speed up app experiences.

    So for all of you who see bloated system sizes, there are two reasons for this -

    1. It takes time for iOS to measure the documents and data of each app... So it'll just initially report it as system and start making an index of which app has how much data storage. So, you'll see the system drop it's size if you open the storage page after some time again.

    2. The second reason for the bloated size is cache. Now, cache will be automatically cleared by iOS when space is sparse and is needed.

    TL:DR - Bloated system sizes are not an iOS bug. Also syncing to iTunes clears all your cache and forces a manual indexing of data from iTunes leading to that job being saved by the OS. What would have happened naturally on its own is just happening by you forcing it so not a big advantage.

    Just enjoy your devices. No need to sync to iTunes. Everything is fine. It's not a bug or even an issue

    Google Maps appears to be showing speed limits

    Was using Google Maps this morning and noticed it was now showing speed limits for the entire 25 minute trip that I took. Anyone else seeing the same? Will post a screenshot later.

    Hi there, I'm sick of this iTunes bullshit. I can't even install the newest version of iTunes. Giving me Windows Installer error. So, I'm looking for an alternative to import my local audio files to Apple Music. Is there any 3rd party windows software that able to import via cable or Is there any ad-free Apple Music alternative to do the same process? Thanks in advance.

    Am I missing something or is there no way to tell which email address a email was sent from/to if a contact has multiple emails?

    Clicking the name doesn't tell me which address was used.

    I am traveling to Thailand in a few days and would like to have all calls auto sent to VM. TMobile allows for free texts and data while in Thailand but phone calls cost 50 cents a minute, so something Id like to avoid. My number is also used heavily with my business and gets a lot of calls regularly. Im traveling with a few friends and I'd like to not miss any texts or any WhatsApp messages from them, so I would prefer to not just mute or silence my phone.

    My mother uses Aldiko book reader on her iPad to read drm free epub files. The app stopped working and she deleted it and reinstalled it but can see any of her books. I'm not there and I don't know it's very well so im trying to find out if the books she downloaded are still on the iPad?

    Help please with freezing settings app

    Hi I have a XR on 12.01 I have had the tvOS profile installed since I got it to block updates due to possible jailbreak. Decided don't need one anymore so deleted the profile like I've done loads in the past with other iPhones and restarted twice but when I click on software update in settings it freezes highlighted in the settings app until I go home and then it crashes the settings app and freezes every time I press it on this so basically I can't update.

    Anyway to fix without iTunes? My mac is broke

    Hi guys,

    Is there a way to automatically forward an SMS to email or WhatsApp?

    I have a electrical plug that sends an SMS everytime power goes off or power is restored, this notification is sent via SMS to a list of people (via SMS also) but I need to forward this via email or whatsapp to a acouple of people as a backup.

    Intentoo, a mobile tool that allows users to create a goal, and schedule it around their busy lifestyle (iOS and Android)

    Hi guys,

    I created a mobile app called INTENTOO on both the iOS and android platforms (minimum viable product) that allows users to create a goal, decide how much time to spend on it, and then have the goal scheduled around a busy lifestyle.

    For example, if you want to learn Spanish, you can tell Intentoo "Learn Spanish" for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, for 6 weeks. Intentoo will figure out time you are available (if iPhone, iCal automatically integrated; if Android, google calendar automatically integrated) and schedule your goal appropriately. If for some reason, you are not able to do the goal at that point, you can always reschedule it.

    Every time you finish your goal session, the progress meter will fill up.

    Please test it out, and let me know what you like and don't like about it by leaving reviews on Google Play and the App Store. I am always working towards making this app better.

    Is there an app to make my ipod touch 4 useable again?

    Hello guys, this is my first post and please be gentle :)

    I have an old ipod touch 4 laying around and I have a speaker which has a dock for it. I can run spotify on my ipod and control it over my phone but I would like to know if there is an app that makes my non smart speaker kind of "smart" i would like to have a way that my ipod is connected to wifi and the people who are connected to WiFi could send any kind of voice to my ipodntouch which would eventually playnit through my speaker.

    Does it make sense? (I don't wanna pay couple of hundred euros for a new stereo player so I would like to know if there is a possibility, as I dont use the ipod anymore :))

    Hey Reddit! I've noticed a weird behavior of my iPhone 7. I have Linux vm installed on my MacBook. if I plug my iPhone to the VM, it reboots when I unplug the cabel. does anyone face with the similar issue?
