Feature Idea - Do Not Disturb should have an option to work for apps you choose Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:16 AM PST Getting notifications while playing some games and using certain apps can be really distracting. It'd be nice if there was a list of all apps installed and you could check which ones you'd like DnD enabled if they are in the foreground. [link] [comments]
Best time to charge iPhone for longest lasting battery? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:36 AM PST I usually charge it over night only. What's the best way to make the lithium ion battery last? I'm asking because I've always used refurbished iPhones with already used batteries. However, this year I bought a new iPhone XR. I want to make it last at least a few years. [link] [comments]

New App Discovery Thread for December 28, 2018 Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:32 AM PST Welcome to our weekly stickied App thread! This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly. This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists. Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried. In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue. Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?" Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request. Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating. Ask away! [link] [comments]
iCloud photos showing in another account Posted: 28 Dec 2018 07:10 AM PST Two days ago, I upgraded my girlfriends iCloud storage. Then yesterday, she told me that some of my photos were showing on her phone. We both have our own Apple IDs, but I still I checked my iCloud settings and her phone is not signed in as me nor vice versa. I did a restore on her phone and it looked like it fixed it and showed the correct number of pictures but, this morning my pictures are back on her phone. Shared photo albums and upload to my photo stream are off on my end. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated before I end up just calling Apple for support. [link] [comments]
The insatiable desire to reset my iOS device Posted: 28 Dec 2018 12:11 AM PST Do you know this desire to have a clean iPhone / iPad? You want to reset your iOS device just to get a fresh new start. What would you suggest to get control of this desire? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2018 09:31 AM PST I have an iPhone 6s Plus. My battery is taking a shit on me and I don't know whether i should upgrade or just get my battery fixed and pay off the phone. I know going any newer would take away my headphone jack, but is there really that much I'm missing out on if I don't upgrade? [link] [comments]
[Help] iPhone 8 battery overheats and drains battery out of nowhere. Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:15 AM PST So I notice that my phone randomly drains the battery quite heavily, this started last Wednesday as per the battery usage graph (last 10 days screenshot) Last night the phone was in normal battery drain up until 4 am when I went to check the phone alarm. 2 hours later around 6:50 I woke up at almost 50% level. fast forward to 11:30 I woke up to see my phone at 37% and it seems to be overheating. Battery app usage shows it was facebook running at background, so I deleted the app straight away (phone seems to cool down but the battery is still draining) Here's the last 24 hours screenshot Any have/had this problem? Thank you all. [link] [comments]
Why are we STILL not able to archive iMessage threads? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 08:04 PM PST This is getting ridiculous, iMessage seems to be the only messaging app that doesn't have the option to archive chats. What gives? They should really some notes from WhatsApp. [link] [comments]
(Maybe unpopular) opinion on iPhone x/xs/xr Posted: 28 Dec 2018 07:55 AM PST I think apple messed up their concept of ultra user friendly handling on their latest iPhone models. I mainly got 2 points proving this (from the perspective of a right-handed person): (1) The new way of unlocking your phone: swiping up from the bottom to unlock your phone is just a new way of "swipe to unlock", but it fore sure isn't a more convenient way then before. I did a lot of testing on this and after some time my thumb started hurting and it felt pretty inconvenient in general compared to old swipe to unlock and more so in comparison to unlocking via Touch ID. Even android phones do this much more conveniently at the moment. (2) Opening Notification Center: it is now to be opened by swiping down from the top left corner, which is a major step back. Apple always knew about how inconvenient reaching into the top-left corner is, that's why they introduced "double tap home button to move down display" on iPhone 6 and the following generations up to iPhone 8. Now on iPhone X and later you need your whole hand to crawl up your phone in order to open up Notification Center. For people with smaller hands or left-handed people same goes for control center. I exclude xs max models from this because they are kind of intended to be controlled using both hands. But in my opinion apple messed up for people looking for a handy companion that fits in their pants pockets and can be used one-handedly. For everyone who thinks about buying an iPhone I wholeheartedly recommend iPhone 8, because it combines the (almost) latest chip set with the old user friendly handling. In the end I really hope apple won't continue to prioritize style over user friendliness (yes I think the latest models are incredibly stylish). Popular opinion in the end: iPhone X style iPhone SE would be so great. Thanks for reading my rant. What are your experiences with this topic? [link] [comments]

iCloud Account doesn't allow changing to new iCloud E-mail address Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:25 AM PST Hello All. I am a long term android user who just recently switched to iPhone. Now, I made my iCloud account using my gmail. Then I also made a new iCloud email and this is added to my contactable list but for some reason it still doesn't allow me to change my apple id email address. Any ideas why ? [link] [comments]

How to avoid constant lens smudging on the iPhone X? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 09:32 AM PST I've noticed that ever since getting the phone when it apple release it.. almost every time I go to take a picture with my iPhone X the lens is smudged and has a hazy look. I need to wipe it off on my shirt every time. I'm assuming this is because the lens protrudes unlike on other models. Anyone else experience this? What's the way to avoid this, a thicker phone case? Anyone have recommendations for this? [link] [comments] |
