Hello /r/iOSGaming Users, First off i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Now let's get into it. Over the past week i have slowly been building a Discord for the subreddit. I believe i have got it to a finished state which is ready for Users to join. I have actually recieved a lot of Direct Messages / Comments from other Users who wanted to see a Discord for the subreddit come to life, so here it is.

    Disclaimer:

First off, You do not need to join if you don't want to. This Discord IS NOT replacing this subreddit, it is rather an optional service which Users can use to chat with eachother, think of it as an extension of the subreddit. This subreddit is staying and nothing will change that. Discord is a free service, with no IAP's.

Thoughts on Pocket City vs. Stardew Valley

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:28 AM PST

Which game has more decisions? More strategy? etc.

I don't think I'd like either if it was just 'busy work' to constantly check-in and hit buttons to collect things, but I do really enjoy strategy / thinking / planning games.

Are the games very similar? Are they both great?

    Thanks for any advice!

Are there any older games that haven't become completely shit full of ads?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:43 AM PST

You know the ones. Stuff like Angry Birds and Kick the Buddy. These used to be staples in mobile gaming. Now you're lucky to go 30 seconds without an ad or the app forcing you to "personalize your ads". What's really crap is that there's usually not a way to bypass the ads. It's either give us your data, or you're not allowed to play. I'm completely fine with ads on the sides of the screen and to unlock stuff (like in Adventure capitalist.) It's those damn pop ups. Just a little rant

    Your go-to idle/clicker games?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:06 AM PST

I just entered the 21st century by inheriting my sister's iPhone 6. I'm having a blast with FireMaple's escape-the-room games, as well as Sproggiwood and Kingdom Rush Frontiers.

I think I've played every major idle/clicker game under the sun on PC - it's a silly genre but I enjoy having one always open in the background while I'm working/gaming. The only one I've tried on mobile so far is Idle Blacksmith, which is a bit too mechanically boring and visually unappealing for me. I want something with a bit more meat to it.

    Recommend your favourite idle games!

    Prolonging tutu app functioning

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 08:45 AM PST

Hello! So all of us who have used any 3p apps like tutu app to download stuff know that after two weeks you have to redownload it and all apps you downloaded (including the progress in games). So I like the game pocket build and I have been making epic stuff and being forced to delete it. Every time it's so painful. Buying pocket build is also not an option as my family is far from financially stable and buying a game is no option at all. So how can I prolong the functioning of third party apps for iOS? Thank you very much. (Sorry for formatting, using mobile).

    Has anyone been playing unrd?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 02:01 AM PST

It's almost like the Another Lost phone series but much more modern and immersive (imo) There are different stories on the app and each story has a phone which you can read- think Whatsapp or message threads. The app also contains stories (like snapchat or Instagram) that help you feel more included. The stories go from 4 days to 8 days long and you get texts from people throughout. I love this app and keep singing its praises haha

Stardew Valley - Stuck on "Saving..." at the end of a day when sleeping

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:44 AM PST

So I jumped in the bandwagon and bought the game but twice now I got stuck on that screen and no amount of tapping makes it go through.

1st time, I happened to die in the mines at the same time as the first new day of Summer was about to start so I thought maybe it's just a bad coincidence and it was a one-time-thing.

2nd time, nothing special, just a normal day's end, albeit quite some shopping and running around.

Has anyone else got those issues? Where you able to fix it without restarting the day again? If not, thinking to go for a refund since I don't have it in me to go through progress loss again.

For reference I'm on iPhone7+ with latest iOS.

Looking for fun casual games with a nintendo-vibe to them

    Posted: 27 Dec 2018 05:09 PM PST

You know that heartwarming feeling when you pick up a Mario, Yoshi, Kirby or Donkey Kong game? I'm looking for that.

Games I liked (other than nintendo mobile games):

Cat bird (Loved the game but looking for something a bit more casual.), Reed (Same thing. Think less super meat boy, more Kirby platformers), Super Cat Tales 1&2 (Loved the vibe), Rayman games (classics), Suzy Cube (Felt a bit.. soulless and empty), Oddmar (Liked it overall), Nexomon, Heroki (pretty much what I'm looking for)

Anybody has some hidden casual fun gems?

I prefer Premium games or a One-time purchase to remove ads. 😁

    Many thanks!

    Edit: added details

Got $20 for the App Store for Christmas, suggestions?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:27 PM PST

I like adventure, action, anything under 150 mb (I don't have Wifi), time wasters, but not puzzle games or stuff like that.

Got a $15 iTunes card from my mom for Xmas, probably in an attempt to get me to take my card off Apple Wallet. Recommend me games and stuff.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2018 04:22 PM PST

    Stuff that I've enjoyed:

    Flappy Golf

Pretty much any sports game that's a somewhat accurate simulation apart from whatever the hell they did to Madden Mobile.

    Most Phillip Stollenmayer stuff

    Trick Shot/Trick Shot 2

    Crime themed games under 5$

    Posted: 27 Dec 2018 10:42 AM PST

Just noticed I've never played anything crime-themed on iOS and that turned into idea.

I'm into majority of genres except casuals so anything from puzzles to detective quests to Max pain dunno is great and I'd prefer playing as someone who goes after the villain, not criminal's perspective. Not too much storyline-driven. Atmosphere and style is a big yes though.

What's the most interesting games you know under 5$ that would fit this?
