    Attention all jailbreakers,

    As we start the new year, we come to you with three important changes, some of which we think you will all be happy to hear.

     

    Approved Signing Service

    The discussion of signing services has been a long-debated topic on r/jailbreak. For months the mod team has held the belief that signing services fell under a gray area in terms of piracy. After much discussion and careful consideration, we've agreed that the enterprise certificate in use is not our responsibility to monitor, but rather it is the responsibility of Apple to protect their property by revoking any certificates they deem to be misused. Rather, our responsibility is to prevent piracy of App Store apps and other copyrighted content that is redistributed without the developer's permission. Therefore, any signing service that we have personally worked with and confirmed follows our anti-piracy rules should be welcome on the subreddit.

    That said, we have decided to allow one signing service to be shared on the sub. We will now allow jailbreaks.fun to be shared on r/jailbreak.

     

    We have talked to the owner of the site to ensure the following requirements:

    • The site consists only of apps that are allowed on r/jailbreak
    • All apps on the site have permission from their respective developers to be hosted there
    • All apps on the site have not been modified from their original form (we ask that all developers that have apps on there confirm this is true)
    • No intrusive ads (full-screen popup ads or ads with fake X buttons)

     

    To be clear, we are only allowing this specific site at this time. All others will be removed but with a small change which continues on the next topic.

     

    Piracy usernote for other signing services

    For the past few months, when we would remove a post linking to or mentioning a forbidden signing service, we would remove the post and not punish or take action against those who posted it. However, with the introduction of one approved signing service, we will start to count other signing services under our piracy rule since they host piracy/pirated apps and apps without permission. Infringing posts will be dealt with in the same way as any other piracy-related post. (Starting next week, these first two changes will be coming to the Discord server as well.)

     

    Drama

    Over the past year, we have seen a huge uptick in drama posts and comments that do nothing but fuel pointless resentment in the community. It's time we take some sort of action against it. Anyone who participates on the sub solely for the sake of starting or continuing drama will be banned. Please note that this is not a "ban on drama", nor does this mean you can't make a post to voice your concerns. It means that if all you do is make posts and comments for the sole purpose of fuelling drama, then action will be taken.

     

    We want to start the year on the right foot. To do that, we need your feedback and suggestions. Don't hesitate to speak up; we want to improve the subreddit to make all users feel welcome and enjoy their experience here!

    [Discussion] Had an interesting experience with the Apple battery replacement program.

    On 12/29/18, I took my iPhone in to the local Apple Store to have the battery replaced. The man that assisted me was very nice, and did not flip out when I told him that my phone was jailbroken (I was expecting them to call off the repair as soon as I revealed that fact). Instead, he offered to restore my phone in the store, which I was more than fine with, as I was more concerned with getting the repair done than I was with my jailbreak. He told me that because it was so late, and due to the sheer volume of people coming in requesting battery replacements, they would be unable to do the replacement until the following day. I accepted this, and left my phone with them overnight.

    Upon going to the Apple store to retrieve my device, I was told that the repair had failed (I am still unsure what "failed" means, and they did not elaborate). They, instead, told me that, because they failed to repair my device, they would replace it for the original cost of the battery replacement.

    Upon getting my new device, I made an interesting discovery; The new device was on iOS 11.1.1. All of that worrying was in vain. I'd gotten away with a brand new phone, and it was still jailbreakable. This certainly was a refreshing experience, considering all of the horror stories I had read about.

    EDIT: Thinking back on it, I am wondering if the person that assisted me attempted to restore my device OTA. He did not seem to know much about jailbreaking (He actually asked me if jailbreak files are stored on backups).

    TL;DR: I took my iPhone in to have the battery replaced, only for them to claim the repair "failed," essentially earning me a new, jailbreakable phone for $29.

    [Release] HiddenAlbumLock - Protect the "Hidden" album in Photos

    Protect the hidden album in the iOS Photos app !

    If you don't know there is a feature in the photos app that allows you to add photos and videos to an album titled "Hidden" this album is easily accessible by simply tapping it the feature only removes them from memories and camera roll, the hidden album can be opened by anyone. This tweak protects the album, it is blurred out and will only be viewable once you authenticate. There are no settings to configure.

    How to hide a photo:

    Select the photo/video you wish to hide, on the bottom bar select the share icon

    Then scroll right and you will see hide on the bottom row select it and that's it

    Unhiding is the same process

    Note: On my iPhone X FaceID does not seem to work instead it present the passcode (which works fine) I'm not sure if it's just mine or all of them. You need to have passcode enabled for this tweak to work !!

    [Discussion] New Way of Contacting Me for Now.

    I'm not 100% sure if anyone has known, but I have been banned from the Jailbreak Discord. I'm not posting this to rant though, rather I'm posting this for people who need to contact me in any way.     [Question] Discord says it’s a unique case- needs genius help

    Hello I've just come from Discord. It was recommended I seek out a genius. Who's help I am politely requesting, please.

    I am on an iPhone X v11.1.2. I was previously Jb with Electra for a long while. When new updates came out. Electra gave me trouble. So switched to Unc0ver. First Jb run went through all the way. I was able to access Cydia. But discovered none of my tweaks had actually loaded. They showed up still under installed in Cydia. But nothing in Settings. And none worked when opened. Also when I tried to install anything in Cydia. I would get "sub process dpkg....error code 255. Or cydo error 255. Nothing would finish installing.

    Tried to get help via Discord. Tried to ssh into it phone. But connection refused. They gave a link for newest update. I sideloaded it in with impactor. Tried the Jb again with rootFs enabled. Long story short (lol).... I'm now stuck at 22/40 exploits. It just freezes there. I can exit out to regular stuff. But have to hard reboot to clear uncover.

    Please help...I'm lost without my Jb. I've had one on every iPhone since the very first one came out.

    I had bought adguard pro and it only seems to block safari ads, as if doesn't block youtube ads or other ads in apps. Was just wondering what to do do ock more then safari apps, and if theirs any tweaks for it

    [Help] I goofed up on switch from Electra to unc0ver, need help

    For whatever reason, when I switched from Electra to unc0ver I decided it would be wise to update Substrate first and then update everything else afterwards. Problem is, now Cydia is broken. When I launch it I see this:

    I'm in a jailbroken state but I can't see anything in Cydia. It's all blank in sources and tweaks. I tried to re-jailbreak and reinstall Cydia via unc0ver, but that didn't work. I can access everything in Filza so I think there is hope if someone can guide me on what to do next.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    [Discussion] Unc0ver 2.0.2 infinite loop.

    Hello guys. I use Unc0ver 2.0.2 and every time I install any tweak by cydia that needs to reboot, my iphone is in the infinite loop. So I have to force the shutdown and redo the jailbreak. Does this happen to anyone else?

    [Question] upgrade directly to 12.1

    Hey guys!

    Quick question as I did a really fast search and couldn't find a direct answer...

    I went from an jailbroken iPhone X to an XSmax (and obviously lost jailbreak) so I've been out of the scene since and haven't kept up to date. I did see that firmwares past 12.1.1 patched multiple possible jailbreak exploits, so I'm interested in updating to 12.1 only for the added camera and emoji benefits, ECG sensor for the apple watch as well as still having possible jailbreak possibilities in the future.

    I'm currently on 12.0.1, am I still able to download the 12.1 firmware and update to that one in specific instead of the newest official release?

    [Help] I reset my phone and need help to rejailbreak/install cydia on iPhone 6s with yalu and iOS 10.2

    So, after I installed the new substrate I got problems in cydia. Refreshing, updating, installing wouldn't work anymore and crash http.

    So I caved and reset the phone according to this guide, which I've used before and it worked fine.

    It basically, as far as I understand it, has you remove all jailkbreak related files, including cydia, through filza and then Erase All Contents and Settings. It went fine, with a little problem at the end, where I forgot about mikoto preventing you to erase all contents and settings, but coulnd't uninstall it because cydia was already gone. So I restarted the phone into unjailbroken mode and reset from there.

    After that I sideloaded the original yalu102_beta7, jailbroke (It says it so in the app after) but cydia won't show up.

    I can't use putty to ssh into it to install it manually, it says "Network error: Connection refused".

    i-Funbox version 3 doesn't detect any open ports and the latest version tells me that the phone must be jailbroken in order to make a connection.

    Another alternative that I found was blue yalu by /u/LoftyNine7 which explicitly fixes a problem where cydia doesn't show up after jailbreaking, but his/her github repo is down and all I can find is untrustworthy links.

    What I did try as well was use yalu102_beta6 and yalu dark with a DPKG fix that I needed the last time I rejailbroke. But no success.

    Anybody have an idea or advice? Am I jailbroken even?

    [Discussion] Signing Service Unc0ver + Betas

    I got two versions of Unc0ver installed, to make testing betas easier. One thing I noticed, was that the 2.1 beta now has MP available and expires in zero days?! (See photos)

    I downloaded Unc0ver 2.0.2 from a signing service (like Jailbreaks.fun) and installed from Safari. I used filza to rename the app by modifying the plist.

    Unc0ver 2.1 was downloaded directly from Github, and installed via Filza.

    Has anyone else seen this certificate work like this? It's very handy, and 2.1's MP installs first try, every time!! And it's not going to expire.

    [Discussion] Get that fun back!

    Hi all,

    As of recently I had a feeling my current setup could get some refreshment. You see, I'm fine and dandy on 10.3.1 but the thrill has kind of gone without some new tweak here and there.

    There are some improvements which I'm still after, such as "swipe to select" for swiftkey or muting facebook messanger sound without replacing a .wav file every update or managing which apps should be kept in RAM at all times, but after all it should be about fun, right?

    So guys, please do share some of Your cool tweaks that might not be very useful but quite fun.
    Or as You please, anything super useful, such as a complicated Activator routine!

    [Help] MAC Address Spoofer IOS 11

    Does anybody know if one exists, or if it's even possible on higher iOS versions? My girlfriends mom's over controlling boyfriend blocked my phone from her gmas WiFi and I can't use it anymore. I was able to spoof it on my computer and it fixed the problem so I was wondering if I could do the same on my phone. Don't need to actually change it, just spoof it until restart.
