| Apple TV Video chat mirror solution Posted: 26 Dec 2018 05:35 PM PST Has any one found a video chat service that will mirror to the apple TV and allow for a full screen WITH audio playing through the TV. Facetime will mirror with full audio but won't go full landscape mode. Facebook messenger will do beautiful full screen video on the TV but the audio is still coming out of the phone. Can i upgrade to latest ios firmware without lose in performance? I ask because when a new ios is released,before to upgrade my apple devices,i inform myself on possible deterioration in performance. 2) i would like to buy and use airpods with apple tv 4k for using them when i watch itunes movies or sport channels or netflix,amazon prime video,youtube,ecc. Video contents. Has airpods audio delay with video contents (both ondemand and live streaming)? | Posted: 26 Dec 2018 08:03 PM PST Hi folks, This involves 3 different pieces of equipment (an AVR, and Apple TV 4K, and a 4K TV) so I wasn't sure where to post it, so I chose here. I am trying to set up an Apple TV 4K through my Onkyo TX-NR656 with Dolby Atmos. The Atmos works and sounds great. The picture on the other hand, is the problem. The Sony is a 4K TV, but not an HDR TV...it's a 2014 model. I'm planning on upgrading to OLED HDR 4K at some point, but for now, this is what I'm working with. I should be able to get 4K SDR out of the Apple TV 4K. If I plug the ATV directly into the TV, this works fine. 4K SDR, but no sound since the AVR is not connected obviously. But when I connect ATV-AVR-TV, the highest I can get it 1080p60. When I try to set the ATV to 4K SDR, it switches over, and the Sony 4K TV displays "Unsupported signal." Again, if I connect directly to the TV, it works fine. Somehow, 4K @ 24 Hz will work for some reason, but other than that, the Onkyo is having some sort of handshake issue that's limiting it to 1080p, or at least causing the Sony to detect the 4K SDR that it otherwise allows as being an unsupported signal. Her Apple ID works fine, but it seems like that I need an iTunes Store account which seems to be impossible to create without either an Apple device (Not Apple TV, though!) or iTunes application on OSX or Windows. | New Apple TV 4K - Experiencing some strange bugs. Is my unit bad? Posted: 26 Dec 2018 11:02 AM PST So I've had my new AppleTV 4K and new Vizio Quantum TV for about 3 days now but ever since I hooked my optical out from my TV to my av receiver to get the audio from my ATV to my stereo (my stereo is old and doesn't do audio via hdmi) both my TV and ATV have been behaving strangely (I think this might just be coincidence but I've ordered new optical cables just in case). The problems: When I was at the menu screen my TV screen kept cycling on and off like it was changing resolutions (though no change was noticeable) and at times it seems like my TV would reboot (though it's very hard to tell, it could have been the ATV telling it to turn off and back on). While watching a movie the TV was fine. So I hardbooted my ATV and when it came back up, it had lost connection with my wireless internet. I went into the ATV's setting and tried to set it back up: it found the wireless signal just fine but every time I entered the password it said it couldn't connect. So I rebooted my router (even unplugged it, waited a minute and plugged it back in); the ATV still couldn't connect. I tried hard booting the ATV, still no success. Finally I unplugged my ATV, let it sit for a minute and plugged it back in. After that it reconnected fine and the TV screen "reboots" seem to have stopped, too. So my question is: should I be worried? Or is this something that just happens from time to time? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Can’t login to app on iPad that I’ve subscribed to on Apple TV Posted: 26 Dec 2018 11:13 AM PST I have subscribed to Sportsnet and TSN on my Apple TV and it works fine there. I've also downloaded the apps on my iPad but cannot login. I've also tried going to the websites and cannot login there either. If I select "Forgot my password" it says that my email address is not on file. Has anyone else had this kind of problem and know what is wrong and/or what the solution is? [link] [comments]  |
