Thankful for the iPhone X’s battery life today Posted: 25 Dec 2018 02:28 PM PST Spending the day with my family members who have very different political beliefs/ morals than I do and I'm very thankful for my iPhone X's battery life for getting me through the day lol [link] [comments] |
A moment to appreciate how Apple stores in the US let customers just enjoy the products on display Posted: 25 Dec 2018 11:40 AM PST An Apple Store, Frank Sinatra & a beautiful smile. I took a picture of this beautiful lady listening to some Frank Sinatra on an iMac at the 5th Ave Apple store in NYC. Where I come from no store would let anyone just enjoy the product without pushing them to buy or leave. A Christmas blessing to Apple for just letting their customers be. [link] [comments] |

eSIM gets better cell reception than the physical SIM! (iPhone XS Max) Posted: 25 Dec 2018 09:24 PM PST I am currently roaming outside the country and was able to switch from physical SIM to eSIM. I then bought a local SIM to use and both happen to use the same carrier. I noticed the eSIM has been getting better cell reception compared the physical despite being connected to the same carrier. (eSIM is the dots as it is set to secondary. Physical is bars as it is primary). Cellular data currently disabled on both and just using WiFi. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Dec 2018 10:16 AM PST http://imgur.com/gallery/QCJY6p6 Bought my first Mac in 2006, a 15" MacBook Pro which I used primarily for video editing. After a few years, I got the itch for a unibody and sold it on eBay. Was thinking last month how neat it would be to obtain my first Mac, so I found the contact on eBay (who was suprisingly still around) and send her a message in regards to my beloved Mac that I missed dearly. She replied that she had shelved it a few years ago when it lost support and would sell it back to me if I was interested, which I clearly was. So behold, my Mac came back in prestine condition... running Snow Leopard. I think I'm going to upgrade the RAM and hard drive and install Ubunto, as I intend to use as a couch surfer (just excited I've got a superdrive built in again). [link] [comments] |
My christmas present to myself.($200 Thunderbolt display on craigslist!!) Posted: 25 Dec 2018 03:28 PM PST Coming from a 25" 1080p HP monitor, which I was having trouble with the text rendering on, this is a HUGE upgrade! Not to mention the added USB slots, I had been using a 2010 Mini as my desktop but now everything goes through the macbook pro so added USB slots on the monitor is awesome! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Dec 2018 04:52 PM PST I know it sounds scary, but trust me on this - turning off autosuggest has made my typing much more accurate and a lot faster. It takes a short while before you get precise enough for this to be worth it, but once you are, you wish you would have turned it off a long time ago. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Dec 2018 08:34 PM PST http://imgur.com/gallery/Tm4FOrR From the positive response of my previous post (2006 MacBook Pro) here is my Gen. 3 iPod from 2004. It came with a wall charger, dock, carrying case (long gone), and wired remote (also gone) - very rare thing for Apple to do. This one could only be charged via FireWire, was the only iPod with light up buttons, the first to work on Windows, and was the first device to feature the 30 pin "Dock" connector - which carried out throughout the iPods lifespan along with the first few iPhones. I took my graduation money from high school (yeah, brilliant move) and bought this exactly one month before the much more famous 4 Gen iPod with Clock Wheel came out. Also "preserved" is the receipt and store pamphlets - not just for the 2003 iPod lineup but the very first gen iPod, as well (which I vaguely remember obtaining at a store now defunct called "CompUSA." This is the Apple customer service in india ... Posted: 26 Dec 2018 12:44 AM PST Having had customer service in USA and India, I can promise you the latter is excruciatingly painful. I waited 40 minutes at an apple authorized service center to place a battery replacement order for my iPhone X. They told me the X isn't under the replacement program. I checked online and contacted support, turns out it is. But since apple doesn't have retail outlets in India, it's up to the authorized service center to honor them or in this case refuse to. I contacted apple chat support with no help: https://i.imgur.com/VEoMjIc.png So basically I have to individually go to each store and ask. Most of them don't answer their calls. This is the service I get for paying more for an iPhone in India ... and they wonder why the number isn't growing. Super disappointed with Apple. [link] [comments] |
Should I shoot pictures with my iPhone XS Max with HEIF or jpg ? Posted: 25 Dec 2018 01:59 PM PST Which image can be edited better or for example Lightroom Classic and what takes better pictures? [link] [comments] |
Apple Could Be Facing Another China Headache Posted: 25 Dec 2018 03:58 PM PST |
Im curious to know why so many peopke seemed interested in my iPhone 6. Posted: 25 Dec 2018 01:30 PM PST Hey all, I've had an old iPhone 6 in my closet that hasn't been used in the past 4-5 months, so I thought I would sell it. I posted an auction on a website for 50$, and a "buy it now" for 100$. I thought that no one would buy for 100$ to be honest. After posting it, I instantly got messages from 3 persons, one asking if it was iCloud locked (it wasn't), another telling me they would take it now for 80$, another for 85$, and in about 15-20 minutes someone actually bought it now for 100$. To me this seems absurd: why would so many people be willing to buy this old iPhone 6? Of course, some people don't have the money to get a new phone and I understand that, but I feel like it was for another reasons - there a lot of posts for iPhone 6, and if it was to replace their phone why not place a bid instead of buying it now? If anyone can explain it to me, I'd love to know why! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Dec 2018 01:26 PM PST I have the Microsoft modern keyboard with fingerprint ID reader and I'm trying to configure it with my macbook. I understand the fingerprint reader will not work, but I cannot get the media keys in the fn row to work right. I'm using the keyboard viewer to track how the mac sees my keyboard inputs. Here are my karabiner settings: https://imgur.com/a/Ch9WCle For some reason, the volume keys (mute, down, up) all work, but nothing else does. I then tried to set the fn-specific settings and nothing changed: https://imgur.com/a/S0boEqQ Has anyone had luck with this? [link] [comments] |
Gifs received on Whatsapp not saved to camera roll Posted: 26 Dec 2018 01:39 AM PST So, I wanted to create something in iMovie using some gifs that a friend sent me through Whatsapp. I then noticed that the gifs didn't get saved in the Gallery? I've only had an iPhone for two months now so I wasn't aware of this. Is there no workaround? Seems pretty silly. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2018 12:12 AM PST I was happy with iGlasses. I know the company ecamm is kind of nono but with firewall, it worked for me.. till today. Any app out there allows me to put a photo as cam screen and adjust brightness? [link] [comments] |
