Posted: 22 Nov 2018 09:02 AM PST Do you know any way or script to get the icons changed when dark mode is activated? I have a lot of folders with black icons that look great with light mode but when I use dark mode they are almost invisible. The idea is: there would be default icons for each mode and when I turn one of the modes, the icons are automatically changed to that mode default icons. [link] [comments]
Mac Minis for meeting rooms? Guest mode? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 12:14 PM PST I tried using chromeboxes in meeting rooms here at work, but found they weren't powerful enough on 4k displays. Is it possible to configure a guest account that clears data upon logoff, but also launches specific things upon sign on (example google chrome)? Any suggestions for remote management so I can install stuff on them without going door to door? Cheers [link] [comments]

Mojave Storage Management issue with Mail app Posted: 22 Nov 2018 09:04 AM PST Was trying to clear out unused files and applications on my system and noticed by Mail app is taking up about 330MB of space on the system, and I have no idea why. I do not use the in-built mail app (have outlook downloaded for office emails only) and have no active accounts on it. I did try it out about a year ago and linked my Gmail to it but didn't like it and deleted the account. Screenshot of the storage management from my sys. information attached: https://imgur.com/a/jOH1cCU Any idea what is taking up that space and how I can clear it? [link] [comments]
2018 MacBook Pro 15" vs 2013 MacBook Pro 15" - MacOS Resolution Question Posted: 22 Nov 2018 12:05 PM PST Hello Everyone, I recently upgraded from my 2013 MacBook Pro 15" to a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" laptop. I noticed that my 2018 model has a default resolution of 1680 x 1050. While my 2013 model has a default resolution of 1440 x 900. My Question: Is this the normal default resolution for the 2018 model? I would expect both of them to have the same screen resolution on MacOS Mojave being that they are both 15" models with Retina displays? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for everyone's time and help! [link] [comments]
How to view all changed terminal commands? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 05:49 PM PST Mojave 10.14.1. Is there a way to view all things I have changed through terminal commands? I found a site saying I could use history | grep "defaults write" but it doesn't seem to work for me. [link] [comments]
Separate headphones/speakers CoreAudio actually annoying.. Posted: 22 Nov 2018 06:03 AM PST This separation of headphones and speakers into two separate CoreAudio devices on Mojave is a serious irritation. If I'm using headphones with Logic Pro X and unplug them (to play something to someone on speakers), the Headphones CoreAudio device disappears.. which causes Logic to complain, and unload/reload the whole CoreAudio setup for the session with a different CA device, which wastes unnecessary time. Is there a way of overriding this stupidity and going back to the old, perfectly good way of doing it.. where if the headphones are plugged in, it plays on them, and if not, it plays on the speakers? Someone please say yes and tell me how.. [link] [comments]

MacBook Pro 2016 Mojave screen glitches, any ideas? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 06:11 AM PST For weeks now I'm experiencing a problem where sometimes my MacBook Pros internal screen won't work anymore. It works normally and then suddenly turns black with just some white bars on the top left of the screen. On the external Cinema Display everything works fine. Sometimes not the whole screen turns black but just some windows show weird lines and stuff... I recorded a video that might help understand the problem. I tried SMC and NVRAM reset, however it seems to not solve the problem. It also appears when I reboot into recovery mode (CTRL+R). The hardware test (D on boot) does not report any problems. Does anyone of you have any ideas? The devices is two years old so I guess there will be no repair free of charge for this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0VALq0p7aw Thanks, David [link] [comments]

Tool for workspace management? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 05:26 AM PST Hi all. I'm looking for a solution to manage my workspaces for all my different projects. I'd like to be able to save all open files, programs and window positions for each project. When I later open this project everything should be restored. My idea was to set up a VM for each project, because there I can actually pause the machine and come back to it later. But that seems to be very unhandy. Any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
