Posted: 30 Nov 2018 11:46 AM PST I was wondering if there is any news about a cheaper ipad coming that would support apple pencil 2? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Nov 2018 11:10 AM PST Do you think Apple will release a silicone case for the new pros as they have done with previous pads? I like their folio, yet it doesn't protect the sides from scuffs and scratches. [link] [comments]

Can anyone confirm this iPad from Amazon is genuine? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 12:26 PM PST I've read a couple articles that Apple was going to begin selling more products through Amazon and would like to pick one up as a Christmas gift, but I really want to be sure it is genuine and will come with a warranty. I know that's not the case with third party sellers but I'm not entirely sure how to tell the difference. Any input is appreciated! [link] [comments]
How do I mute my iPad 2018 when in public? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 10:26 AM PST Hi so I use my iPad 6th gen to study at the local library. There is no "silent" button switch like on the iPhone. Sometimes i'll get a facetime call and it'll make a bunch of noise until I decline it I turned notifications off for Facetime but this still happens. What can I do [link] [comments]
External iPad keyboard in another language? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 10:09 AM PST With the holidays coming up, I'm trying to buy my mom an external keyboard for her iPad. My difficulty is that I want it to be in Polish, not English, and I haven't been able to find any online. Does anyone have an idea of how I could find one of these? [link] [comments]
Organiser style cases for the new pro? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 07:07 AM PST Hi, Just got a new pro 12.9 and looking for an organiser style case for travel etc. Anyone found a good one or one for a MacBook I could repurpose? Favourite one I've found so far is this but it's £££ for a case. [link] [comments]
Professors who use an iPad (productivity question) Posted: 30 Nov 2018 04:52 AM PST I am debating a gift for someone who is a professor. Really curious if you all find the iPad beneficial in what you do or if you find yourself just using your laptop more. I feel that you would never do presentations or make tests on the iPad but what about all that reading of articles and note taking you all do and other stuff. I am thinking of getting an iPad that is pencil compatible as I feel that might make it more useful. Just curious how you all use it and if you would recommend one to a peer. Thanks. Using iPads in our trade show booth - any experience? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 09:08 AM PST Hello! I work for a high-end in-ear monitor manufacturer. We're putting up an impressive booth this year at some trade shows. In the past we've run our devices from a DAC hooked up to an ipad loaded with several dsd's for musicians and audiophiles to try out our products, and this has worked great, but there was never a focus on aesthetics. My job this year is to improve the appeal of our trial stations, and I'm hoping some of you have some experience with this and can not only answer some of my questions, but throw me some suggestions to optimize what we've got going or open new avenues to impress potential customers. Q's: 1) I've got a ton of media that looks great that I want to showcase on the lock screens. Do any of you have experience with this? Can I loop some product videos as the lock screens when the ipad's aren't in use? I've got many photos and looping vids that are pretty eye catching so I'm hoping that having our product experience stations look sexy when not in use will up their use rates. 2) Is it worth enforcing guided usage? We might need to utilize an iPad for something other than the music app - running transactions, showing our website, etc., so having to unlock general use of the ipad could be a hassle if we're busy. Do people generally mess with the ipads to the point where the guided usage settings are worthwhile? 3) We've got bulky-ass ipad stands, but have any of you experienced ipad's being stolen in these kinds of environments? Is it worth bolting those down? I could really use some help as this is our first year trying to pull out the stops, and if you've the time to answer my questions I super-duper appreciate it. Thanks! ps - is the lightning to hdmi adapter truly as finicky and butt quality as every seems to say so in the reviews or are people salty about the necessity of yet another adapter? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 05:37 AM PST Does anyone know if there's an app out there where I can import a 2D architectural plan and make a 3D plan out of it like this video? [link] [comments]
What's a good app for taking notes on the side for PDFs? Posted: 29 Nov 2018 09:05 PM PST I have PDF expert which great for annotations, but what about a PDF note taking app where you can open a PDF and have a blank page next to it for note taking? [link] [comments]
Two much needed iPad keyboard commands Posted: 29 Nov 2018 02:23 PM PST I'm only on my second day of iPad Pro Smart Keyboard usage but I really love it so far! I've enjoyed the added ability to have a physical keyboard but also the increased productivity with the device that I've seen just based off the keyboard commands and shortcuts. The two I've really noticed a need for are 1. Lock the iPad. I can use the keyboard to wake the iPad but I'd also really like a keyboard command to put the iPad to sleep. Same as Ctrl+alt+delete and then Enter on a Windows to "lock. And 2. Enter Field command for messages. Safari can Command+L to "enter location" aka start typing in the url/search field. I would love the same for the messages app as I'm frequently using iMessages throughout the day for communication(both work and personal texting) and have noticed a big hang up by not having a keyboard command to start typing a message. I can get to the app, I can navigate the app but I can't start typing a message in an already existing message thread(other than command+N for new message which requires inputting the contact). I might as well also throw out there that considering the usage of "esc" for apps as keyboard shortcuts it's also a bummer to not have an esc key on the Smart Keyboard. Other than those things I've really enjoyed the Smart Keyboard so far. It makes my 12.9 iPad Pro feel like a "work device" rather than just a consumer tablet for browsing and binge watching content. How is the 11” iPad Pro for reading and general content consumption? Posted: 29 Nov 2018 06:29 PM PST I currently have an iPad Air 2 and it's starting to get a little long in the tooth. I mostly use it for reading Kindle, browsing the web, and watching Netflix, usually while laying in bed. So I'm considering getting a new iPad and I'm looking at the 11" iPad Pro. Obviously it is more than powerful enough to meet my needs. I could easily get the regular 9.7" iPad and it would be fine, but I'm a gadget geek and I can afford the Pro if I want. My concern is comfort for reading and such while laying down. It seems to be a little bigger overall than the 9.7", and about half a pound heavier. So I wanted to see what others' experiences were. If you use your Pro for content consumption are you happy with it? Is it unwieldy or too heavy? [link] [comments] |
