    Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2018 08:41 PM PST

I am purchasing a 2018 Macbook pro 13 inch on either black friday or cyber monday.

Its difficult to sift through deals and compare. I also dont want to jump on a deal to early and end up seeing something better later on.

Has anyone seen any good deals or know where I should look? For the 13 inch macbook pro 128 GB storage (no touch bar), the 13 inch macbook pro 256 GB storage (no touch bar), or the 13 inch macbook pro 256gb storage WITH touch bar?

I have found a few deals, but after sales tax, by far the best available is through B&H which offers the 13 inch 256 gb storage With touch bar for $1,699. A price that beats others I have seen from $75-$125.

    Please help.

    Cosmetic dents

    Posted: 20 Nov 2018 09:02 PM PST

My MacBook fell out of my backpack and has a dent on the bottom in the corner. Any estimates how much it would cost to replace the bottom UPPER part of the casing (like the side of the key board — I don't know if all of it's replaced). I know it's just a cosmetic issue but I spent so much on the dang thing and I don't want any nicks or nacks.

I'm a graphic design student, I used adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and photoshop daily. I have $900-$1000 to spend on a used MacBook. Suggestions of which models to look for and which ones to avoid?

Was Looking into the 2016 pro, but I hear bad things about the keyboard.

Upgrading OS X on my 2013 laptop

    Posted: 20 Nov 2018 06:46 PM PST

    Hi all,

    I have a MacBook currently running 10.9.1.

I need to upgrade to 10.11.6, but I can't make that jump directly. Do I have to update my operating system multiple times?

Any help here would be appreciated.

    Need help deciding on model...

    Posted: 20 Nov 2018 05:07 PM PST

Hey everyone, I am looking to buy my first MacBook, but I still can't decide on which to go with. I was debating on getting either the 2018 13-inch Macbook Pro with 16 GB ram upgrade or the base 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Things I will be doing with the laptop are everyday usage stuff, some light Photoshop work, maybe some coding using software such as Visual Studio, maybe some mobile development stuff, and web development. I also would like the ability to do some light gaming on it from time to time.

My main need is that I want to make this laptop last me as long as possible, at least 6+ years. Based on all of these factors, which MacBook would you guys recommend?

    Thanks!

    Mid 2014 MBP battery issues

    Mid 2014 MBP battery issues

    Hi guys and girls,

Recently been having issues with my MBP around it dying/going to sleep anywhere between 20-98%, when i look at activity monitor the battery charge thing looks odd (see image). When i open different apps the battery % changes also. Nothing open = 100%

Open Safari = 80% straight away and drains as normal, goes back to 100% when safari is then closed

Games/steam = % just jumps randomly around. Maybe 10-15% from a middle value and updates about every 30 seconds.

Battery info at 100/80% (safari is open) is:

    Charge Remaining (mAh): 5835

    Fully Charged: No

    Charging: No

    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 6985

    Health Information:

    Cycle Count: 1116

    Condition: Normal

    Battery Installed: Yes

    Amperage (mA): -939

    Voltage (mV): 12409

Anyone got any ideas? or is it just an old knackered battery that needs replacing (its well over the 1000 cycles that is expected but the behaviour just seems odd to me and not what i would expect from a dying/old battery)
