| Posted: 20 Nov 2018 08:09 PM PST So I have an iPhone 5S and since updating to the newest IOS my WiFi has gone grey and now wont work? I still get good mobile signal and Bluetooth works.. I've reset network settings and tried everything I know of.. does anyone know a fix? I'm sure it's a software issue because before updating it was working fine ? Posted: 20 Nov 2018 09:52 AM PST Specs: Macbook Pro 13-inch Early 2015 model My keyboard and trackpad become unresponsive once or twice a day. The only temporary fix I have found is to reset the PRAM, and at times the SMC. It usually first starts with my trackpad; it begins with it not "clicking" when I press down (similar to when your macbook dies from low battery). | Why does my iPhone show LTE but sometimes the internet doesn’t work? Posted: 20 Nov 2018 03:31 PM PST I have Sprint (I'm sure that's part of the problem) and there's many times where I'll be in full LTE service in a pretty normal area (not remote and not a place with high traffic) and it just won't work. Any reason for this? It doesn't make sense to me for it to show full LTE but data not working. Also is it a sprint thing where it won't let you use data while on the phone? I used to have ATT and I could browse the internet while on the phone but now it says something like "cellular data not available while on a phone call" [link] [comments]  |

Is there any way to convert a "2D" video file to 360°/VR without downloading some free software from the web??? Is there an app or could I possibly do it in FCPx or Adobe PP? | Finder not seeing anything inside folder on NAS Posted: 20 Nov 2018 04:11 PM PST Have a NAS setup for my network. Created a new project folder on NAS (video usage) and now finder says that the folder this was created inside is empty. Shows zero kg as size when there is probably around 700GB of files in that folder (storage usage on the disk still says what it should roughly 900GB usage on a 6TB system). Terminal doesn't show anything with ls -al command for the folder. If I create another folder with the same name as the one I created before this happened Finder says that name is all ready in use. If I create a Folder and try to move it is says a folder with that name exists and would I like to write over existing. FE File Explorer on iOS sees about 1/4 of the folders that are in that location. Windows 10 sees the same files/folders that FE File Explorer sees. Have looked on the NAS with three different Macs, to iOS devices and one Windows 10. Windows 10 and FE File Explorer are the only things that see anything inside the folder and it does not see the folder that I just created. Have never had anything remotely like this happen before, Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 20 Nov 2018 01:41 PM PST I'm hoping this is something someone has come across before rather than bad luck with failing drives. I have a late 2013 iMac with a 3Tb fusion drive, bought directly from Apple. The original drive it shipped with failed and was replaced by Apple for free about 4 months ago as apparently there is a known problem with late 2013 3Tb fusion drives. Everything was fine until yesterday when things felt a bit sluggish so I kicked off a reboot as it had been a while, and that's where the trouble started. I do not have any auto update settings turned on but I did have system update available which I think the reboot triggered. When it started up I got several rounds of the white logo and progress bar, which would get about half way, before disappearing and then a new progress bar starting. I left it along and eventually had a window saying some files couldn't copy and to quit the installer and reboot. I had to select the startup drive at this stage for some reason, even though there was only one option but selecting that and rebooting just got me back to a white progress bar that filled but never went anywhere. I have tried rebooting in internet recovery mode to reinstall the OS but it didn't give me the built in drive as a choice of location and looking in disk utility the SSD and HD seem to have split into separate partitions that will be erased when being recombined. I'm going to try and get it back to an Apple store as soon as I can but I'd be grateful for any suggestions in the meantime. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 20 Nov 2018 03:23 PM PST When you mass select various files you can choose to rename them all and also make it so that if you start at 1 it will automatically add +1 to the next file (so you get filename1.jpeg/filename 2.jpeg etc. My question is, can I do that with files tags too? Out of nowhere, a google search was made for "old images," with a distinct sound as well, like a sweeping noise. I've noticed this sound randomly occurring lately, sometimes with no task accompanying it. One time it occurred and my downloads from safari were opened. But on Snapchat the front camera is so zoomed in its like the camera is an inch from my face all the time. And the quality is horrible. But this is just in Snapchat. | 2018 iMac 27" screen flickering in a portion of the screen? Posted: 20 Nov 2018 05:43 PM PST This problem started a few hours ago. I have Windows 10 installed on a Thunderbolt 3 SSD, on which I was playing Fallout 4. I had OBS running in the background to record the gameplay. Shortly after I started a new recording with OBS, the flickering started. The flickering is only on the part of the screen where the gameplay was shown in OBS (video here). These are the things I've tried to fix it:
It's been turned off and unplugged for the last 45 or so. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could fix this problem? I read that it could be some sort of internal cable/port issue that could be fixed by opening up the iMac, but I don't really feel comfortable doing that. Now, roughly 2 hours later, I've noticed that the image that's flickering is less... vivid (?) than it was when it first started. [link] [comments]  |

Apple support just keeps leading me to a FAQ page when the situation is very unique.

| Posted: 20 Nov 2018 03:12 PM PST After a few happy months with a 12" MacBook, the machine developed a keyboard problem, so I took it to Apple and they fixed it under warranty and everything was great. But after a couple of weeks I noticed some specks of dust had somehow gotten under the glass of the display, and my USB port wasn't working properly. So I took the machine back in and it got a new screen and new USB port (and a new speaker for some reason?). Sadly, the new USB port had the same problem of not connecting properly. It was inconvenient but not unusable, so I just put up with it. Then I noticed more specks of dust had gotten into the new screen. I didn't take it in to the Apple Store right away because the laptop's an essential for me for work, and I can't just lose it for a week all the time, so I just put up with the problems for a while. Then one day it stopped booting up at all. Back to the Apple Store. They take the laptop and it comes back a week and £1000 of repairs later, having been given a new keyboard, a new bottom case, a new top case and screen, a new battery, and a new logic board. I don't even know what half of the repairs were for. I still don't. There was nothing wrong with the keyboard. Worse, they keyboard and top case was £400 and wasn't covered by warranty. No one told me this beforehand, though, so they agreed to waive the cost. Well a couple months pass and what do I notice? Dust inside my second screen, and a strange screenburn-like purple glow on the display itself, just to top it off. Let me back up a bit here. My roommate has the same model of MacBook as I do, which she bought a couple of months after I did. Her laptop had a faulty battery, which she took in for repair, and it came back in perfect working order. Except... For annoying little specks of dust under the screen. So she takes it back into store, they do another repair, and it comes back with a new screen (and a new speaker for some reason?) A few months later... Specks of dust. Back to store, another repair, a third screen. Soon after, the same problem returns, she goes back to Apple, and they send her home with a replacement laptop. So, knowing all of this, I'm pretty confident that a new screen is not going to resolve my issue, so I go to Apple and ask for a replacement machine to save my time and their money. They refuse, but agree to give me a new screen and promise that, if I experience further display issues, they will then give me a replacement. Well a couple months later, I've got another strange smear of colour across the screen. Time to go back to Apple and ask for that replacement laptop. But then, a few days later, to my total disbelief, my roommate hands me the replacement laptop she was given. A small purple smear and a large green smear right across the display. We're both kind of furiously ranting at this point and then as if by some divine joke, her laptop crashes and now doesn't boot up correctly. Sometimes it won't boot at all, and shows the flashing ? in a folder, sometimes it does boot then crashes. A faulty cable connected to the SSD, maybe, I dunno. So now, with almost £4,500 worth of repairs and replacements between the two of us, we both still have unresolved issues and need to take another trip to the Apple Store. And we're both kind of at a loss for what to do from here. I can ask for the replacement laptop they promised me, but I'm hardly confident that even that will solve the issues now that it's happened on my roommate's second laptop. And what is she supposed to ask for? Repair? That won't do any good, I'd bet. ANOTHER replacement? We're both out of warranty now and I doubt Apple will want to refund us the money (and neither of us particularly want a refund... we'd both prefer functional laptops) but what are we to do? End up trapped in a constant cycle of Apple visits, repairs, and replacements? I've just lost all confidence in the 12" MacBook model. It seems way too fragile to even be functional. I truly thought it was human tinkering to blame but now that we're having issues with a brand new device... I just don't know. Advice? Thoughts? Condolences? Thank you. [link] [comments]  |
