Hi I'm considering buying a minspec MacBook Pro and I was wondering if it would work when working with 1080p video in premiere pro. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put it I just want to know before I spend a lot of money on this laptop.

2012 Retina MacBook Pro battery replacement.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:19 AM PST

    Hey guys,

About this time last year my magsafe port on my 2012 retina MacBook Pro burnt out. As I didn't have Apple Care I left it into a local repair shop to replace it for me. My battery at the time wasn't great so they replaced the battery for me, too. All was well until a month or so ago when the battery started acting strange, i.e not holding a full charge for more than 2 or 3 hours, percentage jumping from 100% to maybe 40% then back up to 70% and things of that nature. So I suspect it wasn't an OEM battery the installed. So I'm just wondering where the best place to get an OEM or same quality replacement battery is from as Apple here want crazy money to supply and fit one, which is something I could easily do myself.

    Thank you.

    Macbook Cycle Count Question

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 11:03 AM PST

Hey guys, I'm planning on buying an macbook with the cycle count 185. How long do you guys think it will last me if I use it everyday? I still don't get the thing with cycle count.. if I have my charger in during the whole day it won't affect my cycle count? Does the cycle count get higher only if you use the battery?

Monitor does not connect with my MacBook Pro

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 06:40 AM PST

    Hey guys,

I recently got a new monitor (HP EliteDisplay E231) and I tried to connect my MacBook Pro 2017 to it using a DVI to HDMI cable and connect it via my Hyperdrive 7 to 2 hub. However, everything on the hub works fine, since I've already connected my MacBook to my TV, which has an HDMI cable , but I can't seem to get my MacBook connected to the monitor.

I've tried several cables, DVI to HDMI, DisplayPort to HDMI and VGA to HDMI and they're all working on another laptop that runs on Windows.

Has this happened to anyone else before? I can't think of anything else to solve this, so every tip or referral is really appreciated.

    MacBook Resolution Question

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 09:11 AM PST

I have a late 2012 model MacBook Pro that still runs great and I'm looking to get a nice new monitor on Black Friday.

My question is, will the resolution be improved on the monitor or will it stay at the same standard resolution that this mode has?

I want to ask, how to remove that scratch safely? I dont want to use any screen protector since it will going crazy time to time.

Extension cable for Apple's USB-C adapter

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 02:00 AM PST

Hey guys, I am desperately looking for an extension cable for Apple's USB C adapter (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1K2AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter)

The reason is, that I want to minimize my cable management at home and just want to have lay around one USB-C to connect to my MacBook. Right now I am charging, connecting my screen and have a USB-3 hub connected to the adapter.

Any guesses? I tried several cables, but they never worked for me. Any guesses?

Help me to decide if upgrade is worth it

    Posted: 21 Nov 2018 03:40 AM PST

Hi, at the moment i have mbp pro 2015, 13 inches with 16gb of ram on board. It almost enough for me, however i think 15 inches might be handy, plus sometimes integrated videocard is not enough for video calls(google meet)

At the moment i'm looking at macbook pro 2018 15 inches - MR942, it's nice but i'm not sure if the price adequate for such specs, do you think it's worth it to upgrade? I also a bit worried about news that keyboard is prone to dust/dirt/etc

    Thanks!

(I'm writing this on an unreliable, trashy, bluetooth keyboard) my mac's keyboard types in characters like this "ÅıÏ„˛Ø" after I spilled water on it. Any way to resolve it without spending 400 and the apple store? (Heads up, delete key doesn't work either)
