With the new iPad pro having a Liquid Retina Display with promotion + USB-C, what are the odds that next years iPhone moves to this?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 10:40 AM PDT

I would instantly purchase a ProMotion iPhone with USB-C.

Anyone else’s AirPods case run out of battery very soon after about a year?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 04:35 PM PDT

    Very unlikely but what if..

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 01:46 AM PDT

Apple included the AirPods in the box when you buy the new iPhone next year.

I know, probably will never happen seeing how they already removed the rather inexpensive dongle. But it would be one hell of a pleasant surprise.

USB-c Support as a second monitor for a desktop

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 09:22 PM PDT

Wondering if there's been any speculation on the newest iPad pro's USB c port that will allow it to be used as a second monitor? I'd kill for this feature and don't wanna have to rely on duet once again.

Apple has made iOS's update process more user friendly

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 09:17 AM PDT

About nine months ago I posted this, having been "inspired" by my mom updating her iPhone by accident, to a mixed response from the users of this subreddit. My two complaints were:

    • iOS basically forced new updates down your throat accompanied by a confusing three-choice update prompt;

    • at the same time, the update was objectively bad for older devices performance-wise.

Both of these have been addressed. iOS now presents a clear, binary choice update prompt (I think it's Update/Cancel) which actually works the way you'd expect it to, and iOS 12 is wonderful for older devices, making them run either faster or at least at the same speed as iOS 10. I went directly from iOS 10 to iOS 12 on my iPhone 6 and I think it indeed runs faster than on it did on iOS 10.

So there. I complained back then and I thought I should throw some praise into the mix as well.

Who would you like to see as Apple’s CEO after Tim Cook?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 08:11 PM PDT

With Tim Cook probably retiring as CEO in the next few years who would make a great CEO for Apple?

I'm sure Apple board of directors has plans in place for replacement for every possible event.

Do you think one of the current senior exclusives would make a good CEO or would you rather see someone from the outside come in and take charge?

    Let's discuss

Who is excited for the new Ipad Pro ?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 10:01 AM PDT

I see a lot of negativity around r/apple and the new Ipad Pro. I want to share some positvity and excitement in this thread. I will snatch a new Ipad Pro 11 with the new pencil. I think they will be great. Anybody else ?

Saw some initial GeekBench scores on twitter, seems inline with that the 8200Y processors have put out before.
