[Release] Ultrasound for iOS 11 — The volume HUD you deserve

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 01:31 PM PDT

    Hey everyone!

I've been working on some exciting new projects, such as an update to TranslucentMessages for iOS 11. In the meantime, I have another special thing I've been working on to show you.

    Introducing Ultrasound for iOS 11.

Since iOS 7, the volume HUD has been abysmal. Blocking a large portion of the screen when shown, requiring you to use the buttons to quickly adjust, and taking a long time to dismiss, it is one of the most common but worst thought-out parts of the operating system. But not with Ultrasound.

Changing almost every aspect of the volume HUD, Ultrasound is the upgrade that you deserve.

Looks as great as it sounds.

By opting for a beautiful dark and blurred design that is perfectly aligned to the physical hardware buttons on your device, changing your volume is now a pleasant experience. Its live-updating volume icon and percentage give you more information at a quick glance. Its compact design combined with quick and fluid animations ensure that it takes up minimal space on your device's screen, while still looking gorgeous.

Bells and whistles you didn't know you needed.

Ultrasound is more than just a fresh coat of paint for the volume HUD. It also makes it more useful than ever. You can now quickly adjust the volume on-screen using the slider, conveniently placed next to the volume buttons. And if you need to quickly hide the volume HUD, you can simply swipe it off the screen.

    Designed for iPhone X.

For the first time ever, the volume HUD is optimized for iPhone X and higher. Ultrasound allows you to see the volume level and percentage at a glance, as you adjust it while the screen is off. It seamlessly animates in and out of OLED Mode as you wake your device, and combined with OLED's true black pixels, it looks amazing. Of course, it still works perfectly on older devices.

Want to see it in action?

Here are some of my favourite features

Of course, people will draw comparisons to existing volume HUD tweaks — it's one of the oldest and most used types of tweaks because as we all know, the volume HUD sucks. I've worked hard to make this the best volume HUD out there, considering every aspect of the experience. From the placement of the slider to the quick swipe to dismiss feature. You won't be disappointed.

If you're interested, grab it from Dynastic Repo!

I really hope you enjoy this! I've been working really hard on it for the last month or so.

You can follow me on Twitter to hear about my future updates, both to this tweak, and other stuff I'm working on!

[Discussion] If you are Jailbroken, choose a repair centre wisely...

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 11:28 AM PDT

I scheduled a battery replacement using Apple's customer support system for my 7 Plus on 11.3.1 jailbroken with Electra. I selected the nearest repair centre to me, I thought I would follow up with a call, as I was quite worried about loosing my JB. The unhappy person (later discovered to be an angry troll) explained that it is mandatory to update the device to the latest firmware after installing a new battery or any type of repair and that there is no work around even though I kindly explained that my "companys' apps" are only compatible with iOS 11. I thought I was doomed, until I decided to call the second closest repair centre whom confirmed the complete opposite. They swapped out the battery without any hassle or updates. The moral of this story is to check with every store prior to booking a repair, as one day you may end up booking a repair with a jealous person who's only happiness derives from updating your iPhone to the latest stock OS.

[Tutorial] How to use PartialZip, a really powerful tool which will save you a lot of time using Futurerestore!

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 09:24 AM PDT

    Introduction:

Today I'm here with an exiting tutorial, on how you can possibly save a lot of time and bandwidth from downloading the specific files you need from the IPSW's. Ex: like getting the BuildManifest.plist, SEP, Mav7Mav8-8.55.00.Release.bbfw etc from the desired IPSW of your choice.

This tool will probably save you from a lot of hassle from downloading an entire IPSW which might take a min or 1000 for some users then having it unextracted which is another pain for users who are running low on storage like me ;P in these cases PartialZip comes really handy, you can quickly download the files you need and can be on your way Futurerestoring.

Why not just use the --latest-baseband --latest-sep commands in futurerestore?

In my opinion you should never use those unless you know what you're doing, I've seen that this command is being used in many Tutorials and its definitely a no no. The reason being --latest-baseband --latest-sep assumes the latest Baseband and SEP which may not be compatible with the version you're trying to Downgrade/Upgrade to there have been countless instances where users have unfortunately failed and have had to restore using iTunes.

My advice to you is that you should always select the SEP, Baseband files manually for a better chance of successfully using Futurerestore.

    The Process

Partial Zip is a really easy and simple tool to use. Lets Begin shall we then,

To view the source code for Partial Zip it can be found here: https://github.com/tihmstar/partialZipBrowser

Tough to actually download the latest compiled version of PartialZip use this http://api.tihmstar.net/builds/partialZipBrowser/partialZipBrowser-latest.zip‬

The reason being on the releases page, the latest compiled version is of 2015 where as there have been numerous updates after that initial release version (Oct 2017 was the latest edit) so you can either compile it your self or use the one available on tihmstars website.

    1. After Downloading PartialZip from here unzip it

    2. Open up Terminal and drag and drop the pzb_macos if you're using mac or pzb_linux if you're using linux and run it if you're getting an error you may have to chmod it you can do so by using this command chmod +x

    3. Go to IPSW.me or any other website you use to get your IPSW Files and get the .ipsw file link for the one you're wanting to extract the files from. After getting the link save it some where on your notepad or text edit.

    4. Head over to terminal and and load up /Users/Liam/Desktop/partialZipBrowser-latest/pzb_macos You'll be able to see all the commands you can use with PartialZip

    5. Now we're going to list all the files which are in the IPSW file to do that use the -l with the link of your .ipsw file, should look something like this:

      /Users/Liam/Desktop/partialZipBrowser-latest/pzb_macos -l http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2018/ios/091-74855-20180709-81396E0E-7C1C-11E8-A003-A75B544C24EB/iPhone_4.7_11.4.1_15G77_Restore.ipsw

    6. It will load all the files which are present on the IPSW file just the way you'd extract it on your PC

    7. To download the file, you'd have to simply use the -g command, let me add a few examples

      /Users/Liam/Desktop/partialZipBrowser-latest/pzb_macos -g BuildManifest.plist http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2018/ios/091-74855-20180709-81396E0E-7C1C-11E8-A003-A75B544C24EB/iPhone_4.7_11.4.1_15G77_Restore.ipsw

That will download the BuildManifest.plist from the IPSW File

      /Users/Liam/Desktop/partialZipBrowser-latest/pzb_macos -g Firmware/all_flash/sep-firmware.n51.RELEASE.im4p http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2018/ios/091-74855-20180709-81396E0E-7C1C-11E8-A003-A75B544C24EB/iPhone_4.7_11.4.1_15G77_Restore.ipsw

That will download the SEP file from the IPSW

Vola! thats to using this tool, I hope you did understand all the steps and how to generally use it, if you're having any issues or any doubts please feel free to comment below.

Please Note: This is my first tutorial and I may have missed something or made some mistakes along the way, please mention them to me and I'd be happy learn and update.

    Credits

This tutorial here wouldn't have been possible without the help of these users:

    1. Tihmstar the man himself for making this really useful tool
    2. u/LEL-LAL-LOL for explaing me how Partial Zip works ;P (Woah it seems that that account was suspended for some reason u/LEL-LAL-LOL if you read this post with your new account please contact me so I can mention the credits)
    3. u/ARX8X for linking me to Tihmstar's website where the latest compiled version is available

Edit #1: A lot of Formatting Changes, made the post look more aesthetic

Edit #2: Added a proper introduction, for users to have a good idea

Edit #3: There seems to be a little problem with the links, for some reason when you either try to copy or link this http://api.tihmstar.net/builds/partialZipBrowser/partialZipBrowser-latest.zip‬ it adds a %E2%80%AC in the ending resulting you to get the 404 Not Found error, I honestly don't know what causing this, if you know a fix please feel free to post a solution, thanks!

[request] Tweak that allows the use of Iphone X only tweaks on non iPhone X devices without having to use the gestures controls also

    Posted: 27 Sep 2018 12:23 AM PDT

Is there a tweak that lets a user have full use of tweaks like ultrasound for non-iPhone X devices without forcing them to also use the gesture controls? Fluidity, for example, is a great tweak if you want the gesture controls and it allows you to use this tweaks since your device is now treated as an iPhone X but personally can't stand them but I love some tweaks like ultrasound. The problem is said tweak only works on an iPhone X or iPhones that have a tweak like fluidity installed. I would like a way to use this type of tweaks without having to use the gestures controls also.

[Discussion] how would I learn to make jailbreak tweaks?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 04:23 PM PDT

I specifically want to get into making the home screen animation for when you open and close an app, and the animation that plays when you unlock a device when it's on the home screen. Also, I'd like to make icon packs and bring back slide to unlock. Where can I learn? It's something I'm willing to put a bit of time into.

Also for anyone interested I'm trying to make iOS 10/11/12 look like iOS 6.

[Question] Found my iPod touch 5th gen (running iOS 9.3.3 and is 32 bit) that was missing for almost 2 yrs. what's the easiest method to jailbreak and any "must have” tweaks?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 04:30 PM PDT

Just a quick intro: So I found it by looking for an old game I have lost and the iPod was for some reason in a DVD case of 'the nativity'.There was a stopwatch in the clock app that has been running for 14,000 hours.

So I don't have much use for it, except for a music device, and was wondering what is the easiest way to jailbreak and are they any amazing tweaks that I should immediately get that work well with my current IOS? I have jailbrocken before, on a 5s, and I loved it. But I had to uninstall it as I dropped and cracked my phone and needed to get it repaired Can't wait to get it back. Thanks for your help or time in advance.
