Posted: 26 Sep 2018 08:09 AM PDT Writing about this because not only have I seen very little mentioned about it over the years on this sub, it has been one of only a few games that scratched that irksome itch and kept me entertained for the last month (90+ hours). It is a paid CRPG but it also has a demo version to try before you buy. Any reviews I read stated it was iPad only yet just played it on my iPhone 8. Demo: Dungeons of Chaos - LITE by Volker Elzner Full game: Dungeons of Chaos REVAMPED ED I came from PC gaming many years ago when having kids meant playing on pc was no longer viable and loved anything like Netherwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, Titan Quest, Divinity Sin, Dragon Age (1&2) FFT. A good tactical RPG that I could sink hours into and replay on many occasions without it feeling repetitive. Dungeons of Chaos has honestly scratched that itch I have had since completing Banner Saga and after downloading hundreds of games, half suggested by this sub, I was shocked that this had very rarely been mentioned. He is a solo developer but the style and content of this game is amazing, the depth for a solo dev is mind blowing and when I started playing I was hooked immediately. He chats regularly on the closed Facebook group that anyone can join and is currently working on the next game which I am incredibly hyped to play. But Dungeons of Chaos, what does it have that others don't and why did it scratch that itch? Mostly because it's old school and doesn't tell you what to do, it has a few hints here and there and limited suggested builds, but leaves the rest up to you to learn. The game starts, small video explaining the storyline, and off you go. You can have a preset party composition of 6 (highly advised for first play, restart when you hit chapter 2 and know more about the game), get given a quest and off you go and that's about it. It is a tactical turn based RPG with battles fought on a grid, you have the base classes and their advancement classes (can be mix and matched to mix skills / stats to say have a melee priest undead killing machine or a tank / face ripping melee). It's open world where you go out and explore and progress how you like. It has multiple difficulty settings and the achievement system is what adds a massive replayability. I spent around 50 hours on my first play through and never dropped the difficulty down from suicidal - never managed to beat it and restarted by building my own team (Baldurs gate esq rolling stats and feats etc) and after another 40 hours I finally completed the storyline (still TONS of achievements to complete) - achievements are unlockables that are effective immediately or add feats on new character creation for a new play through. Massive up for me was a basic auto mode - as in the fights are automatic but skills and spells used are basic and it's more for farming / grinding or like me, feeding baby with one arm and clicking away with the other. You will not auto the hard fights, the bosses or arena challenges unless you insanely inflate your gear and levels in comparison to the difficulty of the challenge, it's just a very useful addition. It runs like a dream on my iPhone 8 and after playing with a multitude of settings I limited the crashes (they do still happen although rarely), battery usage is good and it's very easy to play 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there whilst making progress and then smash out an 8 hour session when it permits. EDIT after a question - Controls are customizable and work extremely well for an iPhone, the ui is easy to navigate and isn't cumbersome, very easy to play with one hand and even easier with 2! Never really wrote a review or felt the need too, but for this I felt I owed it to the developer to put it out there, because I haven't had this much fun or been challenged like this since the good old days of the original CRPGs, but also because I wonder how many others like me are searching but haven't found this gem. Honestly give the lite version a go, leave comments if you have played this before, or leave feedback if you try it and if it scratched that itch for you. I'm off to start my 3rd playthrough on the achievement unlocked party composition, see you in a month! Haha And whatever you do, do not read guides or go searching for best compositions, half the fun is figuring it all out (for your 1st / 2nd playthrough anyway!) [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Sep 2018 08:55 AM PDT Hey everyone! I'm looking for fun games to play on a plane ride where I won't have access to data or wifi. I'm not really into mobile shooters or racing so let's omit those. I like building games sorta like Sim city esque but I don't know what's out there for ios. Or any adventure or progression based rpg or side scrolling platforming games. I recently picked up an iPhone XS so if you have a favourite game or any recommendations let me know!! Thanks [link] [comments]
Games like Knightmare Tower and Burrito Bison: Launcha Libre? Posted: 26 Sep 2018 07:43 AM PDT Anyone have any recommendations for games like Knightmare Tower and/or Burrito Bison; Launcha Libre? Games with a somewhat simple base mechanic/controls, where you grind out and unlock upgrades over time? Really like these two games but I've kind of done what there is to do in both at this point. Posted: 25 Sep 2018 12:58 PM PDT Hey guys, I have always loved strategy games but at the same time I absolutely hate them. I love the idea, I love the execution, but I despise that no matter how hard you try, and how well you play, players that have spent hundreds of dollars will far exceed you, often partnering up with one another forming extremely powerful clans and guilds, steam rolling all. I am looking for an IOS game that costs to buy, or is free, but has no pay to win. I want to have a good chance and preferably not have to rely on joining alliances too, I don't know if solo strategy games cost these days? Thanks for reading. I'm on my phone and can't find the rules so I hope this post doesn't get deleted, as it's only a simple question regarding an IOS game it shouldn't be an issue here I hope. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:17 PM PDT I really love that the Color by Number app has created so many copycats. My favorite for the longest time was Unicorn because it allowed you to pixalize your own pictures without having to pay. But now I've found Butterfly and it does a much better job. The one problem I have is that you can still only use so much of any picture. Unless it's an Instagram picture, you're gonna end up cropping it. Does anyone know of a Cb# app where cropping isn't an issue? It being a free feature and having as much detail as Butterfly would be preferable. But at this point, I just want to know if it exists. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
