12in macbook colored screen protector Posted: 01 Sep 2018 01:22 PM PDT hey everyone. so i currently have a 2012 macbook air. im a minimalist, and i love the color silver/ white. im thinking of eventually getting the 12in macbook in a year or so. im very picky... i would get the silver but i love how with the air the WHOLE computer is silver, including around the screen. i dont like that with the 12in macbook, the surrounding area of the screen is black. are there colored screen protectors (as in the area surrounding the screen is colored). also, for anyone that has a macbook, what are the pros and cons? i use mine primarily for school and video editing (i use fcpx and all the specs are maxed out, so using multiple big apps even at once is absolutely not a problem). those are really the only things i use it for. i dont game or anything. i guess the only port i also primarily use is the sd card reader. i dont ever really connect anything else to my computer, but i just would most likely hate having to keep track of a dongil, my sd card, AND a card reader (i lost my iphone dongil a week after getting it). thoughts? ive watched a lot of youtube videos comparing the pros and cons. thanks everyone! Is it worth switching to Mojave's beta? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 03:46 PM PDT Yo! I know Mojave is just in beta, but I'm really fond of that Dark Mode and I can't wait to use it, is Mojave's beta bad or worth switching? Thank you :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:14 PM PDT Hey, so, last week i updated my macbook air 2015 to the latest version and then left it on sleep mode till today, when i started it it was very sluggish. Do note that it was showing "USB devices disabled" message, i rebooted and it kept on showing that, i checked system profiler and didn't see anything bad, , i do some stuff, then turn it to sleep again, i open it up, an immediately it shut off, won't turn back on or give signs of life, it had 90% battery charge. It had never showed that message before and i had no usb devices connected, what gives? [link] [comments]
Is putting heavy loads on MacBook Pro 2017 15 inch in clamshell mode going to harm it? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:58 PM PDT I have a stand that I keep the MacBook Pro on while hooked up to the monitor. It's one of the vertical looking ones, I believe it's just the 50 dollar one apple sells on the website. I'm worried about putting extended load on the machine while it's in the stand, as I know that some of the heat is vented through the keyboard, and since the keyboard is right next to the screen...is that going to cause an issue? Please let me know! thanks. [link] [comments]
Would I be better using Parsec or Bootcamp? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 03:27 PM PDT So I have a Windows PC at home, and I've pretty much used that for everything since I built it, but it's huge and I can't bring it with me to college. I got a MacBook because they're super portable and my university uses them. Question is, if I want to run Windows applications, would it be better to just use Bootcamp, or Parsec? Parsec seems like a good option because it essentially mirrors my computer screen to my laptop so I get all the computing power of that PC. But Bootcamp is 100% latency free. Anyone here with experience on this? Thanks. [link] [comments]
New to Apple products - Which Macbook to buy? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:43 AM PDT Good evening everyone! So, I'm interested into buying a Macbook, and the online reseach I've conducted hasn't really cleared things out for me. I will use the Macbook for office and research purposes only, which means that I will be browzing the internet for academic papers, sending emails, writing (as I currently am, by using Microsoft Word), and generally using MS Office-related programs. The use of it will be pretty basic. Since the nature of my schedule is busy, I will carry the Macbook around a lot, from my work to the University or public libraries and cafeterias, so I need something portable and with lengthy battery capacity. That's why I was thinking about purchasing a Macbook Air. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
