    I wonder if it is worth it to purchase AppleCare or not. Failure rates with MacBooks are supposedly low, yet the machine before my last had quite a bit of issues and since no individual components seem to be replaceable any longer, I am thinking if I should shell out the money for the protection plan. Any advice? How would you come up with an expected value for the plan? Did you make the purchase?

    on bootcamp with the newest macbook 15" 2018 i7 model, sometimes my fn key doesnt work the first time i press it.

    i've been pressing fn constantly to use f9 as a hotkey for recording in ableton, and i notice that a lot of times the fn key doesnt trigger the f keys on the touchbar until i press it again. its definitely working fine as ive only had the computer for 3 days now, but for some reason it often doesnt register. is this a glitch with windows 10 or something hardware with the computer? i havent tested it on mac yet as im primarily a windows user with bootcamp

    EDIT: apparently the fn key does work, its the touchbar that isnt changing for some reason. when i touch it however, it immediately changes to the f keys and registers as me having pressed whatever f key was in the position that i touched. potential glitch with bootcamp?

    macOS Mojave, USB-C hub, and HDMI..

    Hi all.

    I bought a Chinese USB-C hub (identical to Apple's format, i.e. USB-C hub with passthrough power, HDMI, and USB 3.0). Ever since updating to macOS Mojave, the hub has stopped working with power directly through it.

    ​

    Weirdly, HDMI works when power is connected directly to MacBook and *not* through the hub.

    ​

    Reddit, please advice. I just want a single connection for all my goodies.

    My external monitor is a Dell WQHD, and I achieved native resolution via HDMI, and I think 60Hz. Is that possibly the case over HDMI? System report says that 'UI looks like 2560 x 1440 @ 59 Hz'.

    Is there any option for me, apart from the official Apple hub? Or am I better off using multiple cables (USB-C to DP and USB-C Power).

    Macbook Pro glitch screen

    My Macbook wakes up to a glitchy screen sometimes, it doesn't happen everytime I wake my macbook though but I've always been concerned why does that happen. Is someone experiencing the same issue? Any suggested ways to get rid of it? Thank you.

    Macbook freezing when charging

    My late 2011 macbook pro freezes when charger is pluged to macbook. It starts being slow but ends up freezing. It works fine when charger is unpluged. I have tried doing Pram and smc reset multiple times but still.

    If i close it and when its idle it doesn't sleep but automatically switches off.

    Has anyone experienced this? What causes this?
