iTunes on iOS 10.3.3 won't load certain album art Posted: 06 Sep 2018 06:07 PM PDT My brother recently (on a separate device) purchased songs on our shared iTunes account. When I went to go download what he purchased, a few of the albums he downloaded have no album art and are just blank white squares that will eventually load in the default iTunes logo art. I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 10.3.3 and he purchased them on his Windows 10 desktop. I know this is a minor issue but it has just been bothering me a little bit. Thank you for any help you can give! [link] [comments] |
After updating Mac I periodically keep getting beachballs that last about 30 seconds. Posted: 06 Sep 2018 09:32 PM PDT I updated my Mac finally today so I could get Xcode, but I've been getting beachballs randomly that last around 30 seconds that affect all my applications. Like I would be on Chrome and it would stop responding so I would try to go on Finder, but it too would have a beach ball. After a while, the beachball would disappear and all the applications would "catch up". I don't really know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
AirPods keep dropping with no recovery Posted: 06 Sep 2018 01:02 PM PDT Several times an hour (sometimes once or twice, sometimes 4-5), my AirPods will quit producing sound. For example, let's saying I'm playing a music playlist through the stock Music app on my iPhone. The song will play normally, then all of a sudden, the audio will cut out. Turning the iPhone's display on, I can see that the song is still progressing, but the AirPods never pick back up. I've heard of people having issues where theirs reconnect after some time, but I've watched it for up to a minute before and have never gotten them to re-connect on their own. To fix the issue, I have to go to the Music app, press the AirPlay icon, and switch the output to the phone speakers and then back to the AirPods. I've tried resetting the AirPods, disconnecting and reconnecting, only using one AirPod at a time, everything I can think of, but nothing seems to work. It happens in several locations, so if interference is the issue, I don't know that it can be mitigated. Am I just out of luck? [link] [comments] |
why does itunes for windows suck so bad? Posted: 06 Sep 2018 02:48 PM PDT Alright, so I have an iPhone. I have been using Windows for about a year now (used OS X since 1999, couldn't afford a new mac) with very little trouble. I have had a few issues with iTunes, but today it decided to go full retard. It actually started last week when I tried to delete songs from my iPhone through iTunes. It wouldn't let me. While looking at the list of songs on my phone in iTunes, the option to delete a track is missing, but I can add it to a device (you know, the device it is already on that I'm looking at). I can delete songs manually through my iPhone, but iTunes will just tell me the track couldn't be found & leave it there. Ok, now for today. I am going on a road trip this weekend. I wanted to add some podcasts. I don't typically deal in podcasts. After I downloaded a few from a certain podcast I guess I had to sync them. I did not sync my music (I have never synced my music). The music remains unsynced, but I can no longer sort the music on my phone through iTunes at all. It is stuck in the assortment that iTunes seems to have randomly chose. It was sorted by date added, but after I restarted my computer (thinking this might help) it sorted by artist. When I click a header it does nothing - it doesn't sort, it doesn't invert, it does nothing. TL:DR: I guess my question is how to do get control of my music again? How can i sort it? How can I delete it? How can I can sort podcasts on my phone in order so I can listen to them that way - not newest first, not by name, but in order of release? This is the last thing I want to be doing, I should be packing right now! [link] [comments] |
2004 Apple Cinema Display + 2017 MacBook Pro Posted: 06 Sep 2018 05:58 PM PDT I have an old 23" aluminum Apple Cinema Display (A1082) that had been working perfectly with older generations of MacBook Pros. I'm attempting to connect it to a 2017 MacBook Pro (13" with touch bar) using the following adapters:
My MBP is able to recognize the Cinema Display and run it at the display's default 1920x1200 resolution. However, the screen tends to flicker, and when not flickering, everything on the Cinema Display appears bright pink and green, even when I attempt to calibrate the display's colors. The MBP is connected to a power supply with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard; I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6, and my graphics card is "Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB". The same setup worked perfectly with a 2011 MacBook Pro before this (except with the standard DVI to Mini DisplayPort adapter, rather than the Dual Link); however, I will mention that I dropped a chalkboard onto the USB that comes out of the monitor (where a USB, DVI, and FireWire come out as three separate wires) and smashed it a bit during the transition between computers, but I was able to bend it back into shape enough to plug into the dual-link adapter. Prior to this, I tried connecting the monitor using the simple DVI/Mini DisplayPort adapter going into the Mini DisplayPort to USB-C (#2 above) and an undamaged USB from the monitor going into the Apple USB to USB-C (#3 above) and my MBP didn't recognize the external display at all. Please don't hate me if this has been asked before or if some aspect of this seems more obvious to you than it does to me.
Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Macbook 12" Retina 2015 A1534 Not working correctly. Posted: 06 Sep 2018 10:47 PM PDT One day I turned it on and the screen looked pixelated, I moved it a little and it was fixed, the same day when I restarted the laptop the screen became similar to the first image but with more colors, then it was just as it is seen on the last picture. I no longer have any guarantee, what do you recommend me to do? Connected to an external monitor works fine. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2018 10:36 AM PDT So there are many times where I will search a song or play songs I've downloaded and they will not play. They will appear to play then my screen will say "not playing". This happens on Wi-Fi and cellular. It's really frustrating as a part time DJ when your phone can't play music haha. Thanks for any advice. [link] [comments] |

SMC reset issues (reset doesn't help) Posted: 06 Sep 2018 04:11 PM PDT I have all the symptoms of my machine needing an SMC reset (fans kick on high immediately after hitting power button, Magsafe light is off, battery won't charge -states using significant energy when running no programs, extreme app and program lag while very low cpu usage occurring). All forums online say this is a common problem and I need to reset SMC. Ive done it both ways - left shift+option+Control+power as well as disconnecting the battery from logic power and holding power down. Nothing seems to help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Keyboard and mouse not working, they only work when I’m in the systems diagnostics Posted: 06 Sep 2018 03:53 PM PDT So I have a MacBook Air, when the computer is fully started the mouse and keyboard don't work, yet the power button still works. I then tried going on the systems diagnostics setting(while the computer booted up I held the D key) then the keyboard and mouse was working perfectly fine there. Is there still hope that the keyboard and mouse to work, and can you help me?!?!?! [link] [comments] |
I hate this stupid recent apps bar Posted: 06 Sep 2018 03:20 PM PDT When you open a app and exit out it shows that app on bottom bar, I want it to just stay the apps I picked for that bar, and not to display the app I last used. It's really annoying and it might seem minor but it really bothers me. Where is the setting to change it? [link] [comments] |
Help! Mysterious white vignette Posted: 06 Sep 2018 12:19 PM PDT My 2013 27" imac suddenly has a white vignette around the screen. It is a really hot day here, perhaps that's why? [link] [comments] |
A calendar event added to a shared calendar also sent invites to several coworkers Posted: 06 Sep 2018 08:31 PM PDT I tried to google this but it's very specific and was having a hard time finding an answer. My girlfriend and I have shared an Calendar together for years with no issues. Today, while at a work function, my girlfriend puts a work event in our shared calendar so I can see it too. As soon as she does, someone from her team blurts out,"Who the fuck is giganto53? Some or most of her coworkers for calendar invites from ME. Where's what I know: She is on iOS 11 and I'm on 12 beta She has her work Exchange mail, contacts, and calendar synced with here phone Her default calendar is the shared calendar, not her work exchange account. The invite got sent by email for at least 3 coworkers if not a lot more. All the email invites say that giganto53 invites you this event. The email was sent from a donotreply@apple.com If anyone has any insight it would be great. I don't want her whole company knowing what we are planning on our lives. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2018 06:43 PM PDT Hello. My app store is disabled on one of my devices, so how can I update the apps without an app store? [link] [comments] |
Can’t download apps from the AppStore Posted: 06 Sep 2018 06:43 PM PDT Whenever I try to download a free app, it tells me that verification is required and then it makes me put my iTunes password in. Then it redirects me to my billing info and cancels the download. Yes, I've read that you have to set your billing info to none, which I have done. [link] [comments] |
What is going on with my macbook pro??? (MBP 15" retina mid-2014) Posted: 06 Sep 2018 05:52 PM PDT April - pinwheel, laptop freezes if I try and write to disk, then folder icon with question mark on boot, but I'm able to occasionally boot, and could get the files off of the laptop. Apple diagnostic shows there is an issue with the hard drive, i figure it died. Manage to reformat the disc, which confirms to me it's dead, as I still can't boot or do a fresh install I get an ancient HDD and enclosure, install OSX, everything works 100% fine, and has never had an issue (but obviously don't want my laptop to need an external drive hanging out of it long term) I buy a replacement drive from OWC. works fine for a month, then freezes - cant see the drive in disk utility at all, shows a folder icon w question mark I get about 5 more replacements from OWC figuring it was the drives fault for failing on me - the second one works for a day then freezes and disappears entirely from disk utility. the third comes physically broken. the forth OWC replacement dies after a day, but acts a little differently: freezes and shuts down the computer (no pinwheel), and then upon startup, no folder icon, but a long load screen which then shuts down the computer. fifth (and I think sixth? but I can't remember how many replacements I got at this point) does the same. Apple diagnostics of these don't show any issues, and I can still see the drives in DU, however, they can't be reformatted due to errors about the core storage volumes or something similar. I figure I'll get a refund on the OWC drive as clearly they're not going to work, and OWC themselves can't indicate what's going wrong. I contact a few repair places, they indicate it could be the logic board (and they cost $900 AUD to replace :S), I figure I'll just keep using an external if that's the case. I pack away the OWC drive and figure I'll put my original SSD (that came with the mac) back in so that in the case I go for repairs, there's something in there (because I figure at this point it may not be the drive at fault). Suddenly, this drive is working. I've managed to update High Sierra. I assume it will die within a day or two, but surely this indicates that it can't be the drive, as the drive is working again?? Can anyone shed any light on what's going on? Is this kind of problem familiar to anyone? No one seems to have encountered an issue like this, and I don't want to risk sending off for expensive repairs when I can't be even vaguely sure what the issue is. [link] [comments] |
Dropped my MacBook Pro 2013, any way I can fix this? Posted: 06 Sep 2018 11:38 AM PDT |
Light scratches on iPhone X screen Posted: 06 Sep 2018 01:29 PM PDT I've always used a screen protector in the past. But after I cracked my glass screen protector, I learned Apple no longer installs those for you. So I got a plastic screen protector that helps visibility in the sun. Eventually I realized I hated the way the screen protector dulled the colors on the screen. So I took it off. And of course in due time I've accumulated some light scratches, one in particular that is visible during most tasks. Aside from simply living with the light scratches (which is an option of course), what are my options at this point? I do have insurance for my iPhone X, but I'm guessing this sort of thing isn't covered. I've looked into DIY option and I've seen people mention that you can possibly use toothpaste to fix light scratches but... really? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2018 01:04 PM PDT I can already feel that it will be a little difficult to explain it, also Google have up on me, so I uploaded a picture here I have an OSX Mail (High Sierra) with 3 mailboxes. While two mailboxes show all of their inbox folders under the "Inbox", one of the three shows all folders under a different tab on the bottom, which would be my preference. The problems is, I don't see how I can influence this. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? [link] [comments] |
Liquid Damage MacBook Air within 60 Days Posted: 06 Sep 2018 12:58 PM PDT I have a MacBook Air that suffered liquid damage. I am within the 60 day window to purchase applecare+. Notes have suddenly disappeared Posted: 06 Sep 2018 11:40 AM PDT Help!! I had tons of files/notes on the notes app and they are suddenly all gone. I didn't have them on the cloud one, so I can't access from there. Any hope that I can somehow get them back by going to the Apple store?? I just don't want to stand in line at the store if there is no hope. [link] [comments] |
MacBook Air Data Recovery Options Posted: 06 Sep 2018 11:32 AM PDT Hi r/Applehelp. PLEASE HELP. TL;DR I need to copy the raw contents of my internal hard disk of my MacBook Air to an external drive. Please recommend software. Story: I had installed Linux on my MacBook Air (2014) by creating a separate partition of 30GB in my 256GB internal hard drive, leaving about 220GB for my Mac OS. At startup Linux was the default, and to boot MacOS I would use the Opt key. Then I decided to remove Linux Ubuntu from my machine because I needed the space for my Mac OS activities which I mostly used. So I did the following steps:
Apple customer support: 1. After speaking to Apple customer support I have an external Hard disk (1 TB) where I have a Mac OS setup. But the new OS cannot detect the old partition. I need software that could 1. Scan 2. Recover the data. Please ask any details you'd like me furnish. [link] [comments] |
