- The pie chart in Numbers will not present the data selected. The chart only selects one day instead of seven, or it selects the 7 days but simply divides the chart into seven days, and not the other info. Any help here? I feel like this should be simple.

| iPhone has been glitchy lately? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 08:26 PM PDT Hi all, I wanted to post about some of the problems my phone has been having as of late to see if it's been widespread. I currently own a 6, and have not updated to iOS 11. A couple days ago, I used my phone by tapping the home button and holding onto it to use TouchID, as I normally do. However, for some reason all my fingerprints had been deleted and the settings won't even let me add new fingerprints. And, 7/10 times my phone will not wake up to the lock screen even though I press the home button; I have to tap the side power button. Apps have also been incredibly slow and laggy, and today even the camera started to not work. Has anyone had these issues? Do you guys recommend a factory reset or downloading iOS 11 to see if that fixes anything? Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

I changed my PW for iCloud recently and was able to log into it on phone and pad However, on Mac, when I try to log in via iCloud preferences the following happens

| Help Needed - SecretNotepadPlus Widget Broken? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 03:59 PM PDT Hi guys, I had installed the SecretNotePadPlus Widget several years back and have been using it to store my passwords, but this morning it seems to have broken. I tried re-installing it from the developer's website but it looks like his website is down (http://macwidgets.jpn.org/secretnotepadplus/index.html) and any other links I found to download it just redirects to the developer's servers. I can't get into the widget at all; I've been completely locked out (https://imgur.com/a/lJzKEKD). Anyone have any ideas on how I can get in somehow? Like through the package contents or local files or something? I've already tried doing a google search but there doesn't seem to be anything on this. It's asking for the Apple ID used to setup the iPad, but the problem is that I'm pretty sure the accounts disabled. I think I changed Apple ID for app store as well. I want to reset my iPad but I can't since I can't get past the activation lock. I tried connecting it to iTunes on my PC but still needs the activation code. Earlier today, I swapped out my OEM battery for a new battery. However, after replacing the battery, my MBP is no longer turning on, charging, or responding in anyway. This is both the case with the OEM battery and the new battery. I tried a SMC reset; however, that appears to be useless since my MBP won't even start up now. I'm currently lost. | Remove synced iCloud Photos from new iPad? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 10:25 AM PDT I have iCloud Photo syncing turned on for all my personal devices, but I just got a new iPad for work and upon signing into my iCloud account, all my personal photos came flooding into the photo library. I turned off the iCloud Photo Library option (and chose Delete from iPad option) as well as the Photo Stream and Photo Sharing options on the iPad but all 5000+ pics are still there.. Is there an easy way to get rid of them all at once? I feel like I'm overlooking something simple.. edit: and just to be clear, I want to sync the photo library between my personal devices, just not to my work Edit Again: Wiping the device and turning the option off directly after setup fixed it. | iPhone not using Bluetooth Headset's Microphone Posted: 07 Sep 2018 12:26 PM PDT Heya,. Sorry for the double post. I started figuring out the last topic I made (and deleted), and now I have a new problem, if anyone can help. So, I've got a Bluetooth headset attached to my iPhone 8. Audio works fine on the headset, but the mic doesn't. When a call comes through, it defaults to the iPhone's built-in microphone. I don't know of any microphone settings outside of Privacy/Permissions settings. Any ideas on how I can make the headset priority, or do I maybe just need to get a better headset? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 06:09 PM PDT Hello everyone, I made the mistake of buying a 2014 mac mini a year ago and am trying to make it a little more bearable of a machine by swapping out the HDD for a SSD. I've watched plenty of youtube videos and have scoured the web for how-to's and i'm pretty confident on swapping it out myself. The one issue i'm having is everything I see says I need to clone the new drive. Is there a way to use a flash drive as a boot drive and use that to install a fresh OS on the new drive? | Posted: 07 Sep 2018 12:24 PM PDT Asking this for a non-tech savvy friend, so I hope I have all the details correct. He is currently using a MacBook Pro (circa 2008, I think), but mainly just uses it now for moving photos from his iPad and iPhone to external HDDs backups using Image Capture. He wants to keep using the HDDs as backup rather than moving stuff to the cloud, just to have something physical (I've explained about backups, and he has 2 of them, going to keep one at work, etc. But he doesn't want to go the cloud route). He wants to stop relying on the MacBook since it's getting old and he doesn't use it regularly. If he wants to backup photos and videos directly from iPad and iPhone to external HDDs, is there an easy way to do this? Wasn't sure if there was special connectors that could accomplish this, as I've never tried. Also didn't know if there's a way to backup his devices without iTunes, again, I've never tried or had that situation. A NAS is probably too complicated. Worst case, I recommended a cheap laptop (like a Chromebook or something) or using the feared iCloud (a bit pricey, 200Gb might be enough, but then it's a big jump to 2Tb). Thanks for any help! | Volume control sometimes stuck on MBP '18 Posted: 07 Sep 2018 12:12 PM PDT My 2018 MacBook Pro is sometimes suffering from 'sticky' volume control. When I am interacting with the volume controls on the Touch Bar for a longer period of time, the volume control gets stuck sometimes. The sound is then automatically, continuously being muted or (with a bit of bad luck) set to full volume. During this time, the adjustment popup remains constantly visible. Only when I go mach five on the Touch bar and press all the volume buttons in random order (haven't been able to find a pattern), the OS surrenders and I regain control over the volume. It usually occurs once or twice every week. It also occurred on a clean install, so third-party apps acting strange is out of the question. Is this a known problem? Is there a permanent solution? I used my mac earlier this morning and I did not get that message, and I know I didn't download or install anything in the morning. The message kept popping up consistently every 10 seconds or so, from 1:00pm until it just stopped popping up at around 2:12pm Infection: MacOS:Genieo.app Path: /System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRT.app What's strange is that I didn't download any apps or programs in the past couple of weeks, and I didn't find any of the processes related to uninstalling/removing the Genieo adware. I ran a full system scan on Avast immediately, and it found two infected files: /System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRT MACOS:Genieo-FM [Adw] /private/var/db/uuidtext/69/578DD5D912335886F6685324E90385 Both marked under Infection Details as MacOS:Genieo-FM [Adw] Aren't these system critical files? I read that I shouldn't delete them, or my Mac could be bricked. Should I have Avast move them to the Chest? Would that cause any damage to my mac if I turn it off later? Also, I ran separate scans with Malwarebytes and it didn't find any threats. Could this be a false-positive from Avast? My browsers seem to be working just fine. Any ideas on what I should do? | Confused about Wifi and Thunderbolt Bridge on MacBook Pro (2011) Posted: 07 Sep 2018 02:59 PM PDT Just got a refurbished MacBook Pro from 2011, with High Sierra installed. Trying to set up Wifi and it's bizarre. In Network there is no Wifi option, just: Thunderbolt Bridge, Bluetooth PAN, FireWire and Ethernet. The Wifi symbol at the top right says WiFi is on, and it cannot be turned off. It shows no networks to join (it won't let me look), and an exclamation mark denoting zero connection. But if I go to Thunderbolt Bridge in Network I can connect to Wifi through it. Still says at the top right no Wifi, but Thunderbolt Bridge has a greenlight and I'm online. What's going on? How can I configure things so it's normal again? Is this a case of High Sierra being weird with such an old MacBook Pro? [link] [comments]  |

Unfortunately the email address I used to purchase it with doesn't exist any more and I can't access my old proof of purchase. Because of this I'm concerned that when sending it will get held up in customs and I'll have to pay a new tax on it. I do have evidence on My Devices but I wouldn't be sure about how to provide this. | iPhone 6s - Exporting Contacts without iCloud? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 07:13 AM PDT I have a colleague that retired and left us his phone and computer and he has a litany of critical customer contacts on his phone that we need to export and share with his replacements. Unfortunately I do not have his iCloud password and I cannot for the life of my understand how to get these contacts out of this phone en masse. I've tried to backup via iTunes to my Windows 10 PC, but if it's pulling the contacts out it's not in any usable form. I've tried multiple Google searches and even went to Apple Chat for help - to no avail. Any advice? I appreciate any help in advance. EDIT: I got this taken care of by using a contact export app, which was done by signing out of the store on the phone and emailing the doc to myself. Thanks to all involved for the help! | Linking a pdf to a numbers cell? Posted: 07 Sep 2018 02:48 AM PDT Hello, Im trying to link a pdf to a numbers cell. So I want to be able to manage expenses a bit better, so I can list all my expenses in a spreadsheet as a simple: 'shop a - £150'. Then if I click on 'shop a' it opens the pdf containing a scanned copy of the receipt. Any ideas if this is possible? I can open the pdf file in safari by using the "file:////Users/*****/Desktop/expenses/****.pdf" url, but when I add that link to a numbers cell, it says "The link doesn't seem to be working. check the link then try again."
