Is anyone having volume trouble? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 05:21 AM PDT So I've gone through 2 8+ and now have the X and each phone has been the same thing-volume controls popping up on screen when I am not touching the buttons. Anyone else experience this? Is there anything I or Apple can do? [link] [comments] |
How has the iPhone without the headphone jack affected you? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 11:48 PM PDT I'm looking to purchase a new iPhone but I'm worried about the headphone jack. A lot of my phones current usage is based on music (31% of my battery is used up by Spotify) and I'm worried living without the headphone jack is going to be hard. Those who listen to music often, how has it affected you? [link] [comments] |
Searching a text file from iMessage Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:02 AM PDT How to search through a text file in iMessage? Someone sent me a list of files from a hard drive and I want to do some searching on it for certain filenames and extensions. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:30 AM PDT I'm looking for an X online and I ran into one that has the Model NQAN2LL/A. My carrier is sprint, I looked around google and I couldn't find said model to tell if it was or not. Clarification would be great, Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
FaceID working through helmet: working as intended or a flaw? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 07:50 PM PDT So I ride a bike. And my FaceID is almost always recognize me in my helmet (with the mirror visor on). So is FaceID continue to learn about me; or simply a flaw? I'm fascinated by this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:59 AM PDT I have something like 200 unread texts that have just accumulated and I haven't opened them. Every time I turn on my phone it notifies me of like 10 random texts one after another and then finishes with "you have X unread text messages" (X being a random number from 10-20). Is there a setting that I can turn off or do I have to go through and open every text string to make this stop? [link] [comments] |
Why don’t Samsung phones grab my attention? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:55 AM PDT Commercials, ads, upgrades, etc...none of it ever makes me think "wow, I should get a Samsung phone!" [link] [comments] |
The first smartphone that's lasted more than 2 years Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:30 AM PDT Either through force or through decent performance, my iphone 6s is the first smartphone I've had that's lasted me over 2 years. I started with a motorola droid (the original) and that lasted me almost 3 years. Then a galaxy nexus, that lasted 2 years and was a complete mess. Then a Nexus 5, which also lasted 2 years and was an even bigger mess. This is the first phone where while there were some issues (some major some minor), it's been relatively reliable and a good workhorse for nearly 3 years. I know this isn't the usual like "Omg Siri did a bad thing" or "New iphone X2 2021 rumors wow" kind of post, but I just wanted to show appreciation for this reliable metal brick in my pocket that just does what I want it to 95% of the time. That all being said, definitely not going to upgrade to a new iphone because the headphone jack has been removed from all the new ones. If the battery dies hard on this I will have to find a way to replace it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:15 AM PDT Hey guys, my aunt just gave me her iphone6s because she couldnt unlock it. She said sprint told her it has something to do with the cloud? I have never used an iphone so im not sure about how it all works can someone help me? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:07 AM PDT Hello, I have an iPhone 7 and I have to use it as a navigation device for a short while, like nine or ten days. I bought a holder that contains two magnets—one to attach to air conditioner and one to put between the case and the phone. I wonder whether it does harm to iPhone. Any comments? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:03 AM PDT When I try to download apps, the download speed is outrageously slow. Most of the time the app stops and i get the message "[app] is unable to download at this time." My internet speed is relatively fast, although my internet isn't the problem because this happens on any wifi I'm on (and on cellular). I have done everything I can find on the internet: signing in and out of itunes, turning on and off my phone, and I tried to update my phone, yet I can't do that either. If anyone can help, I'd be thankful. I'm sick and tired of Apple. [link] [comments] |

Any way to label phone numbers in group chat without having to add to contacts? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:32 AM PDT So every year I am in a group chat for most of fantasy football. There's always people i don't really know in the group chat. I'd like to tag their number as like "ryan," but I don't want to add them to my contacts. is there any way I can tag their numbers to a name or nickname? I've searched around and can't find anything. Guys how do you carry your iPhone Plus? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:19 AM PDT Bought an iPhone 8 Plus a few days ago and its been really good. Only issue I'm having is finding a comfortable way of carrying it around. The way it sticks out in my skinny jeans just feels so uncomfortable. Might end up returning it and going for a smaller phone, but don't want to lose that screen real estate. How do you all carry this phone comfortably? [link] [comments] |
How to use backup from iOS 12 beta on 11.4 Posted: 09 Aug 2018 08:40 AM PDT I bought a new iPhone on iOS 12 beta 4 but I'm going to be changing to another phone that's on 11.4 I know in the past you can't restore from a backup if the original back up was on a higher version. What's a way I can transfer my data? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 08:24 AM PDT Hey all, First, I hope this is allowed, I don't see anything in the sidebar rules that say "no tech support", please let me know if there's a better place to post this! Ok, so as the title says, my iTunes is not recognizing my iphone 6. My Windows 10 is recognizing it, i can see it under devices and see it as "external storage" (and nothing else). things I've tried: Restarting computer and iphone. Updating Windows. Updating iTunes. Uninstall and reinstall iTunes. I did every single "update driver" tutorial type things from the first 2 pages of google. I searched this sub for the same issue, found some threads, did the instructions there, still nothing. Running an iTunes diagnostic gave me this: Microsoft Windows 10 x64 Professional Edition (Build 17134) Notebook N85_N87,HJ,HJ1,HK1 iTunes 12.8.0.150 FairPlay 2.13.25 iPod Updater Library 12.0 Apple Mobile Device 11.4.1.46 Apple Mobile Device Driver 423.36.0.0 Apple iPod Driver 1.67.0.0 Gracenote SDK 3.06.1.3084 Gracenote MusicID 3.06.1.3084 Gracenote Submit 3.06.1.3084 Gracenote DSP 3.06.1.3084 iTunes Serial Number 000001CE5B007D2C Current user is not an administrator. What is wrong with my alarm clock? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:09 AM PDT It's beginning to feel like every time I set an alarm, it just never goes off. I'm careful to make sure it's set for the right time, and double check that it's AM and not PM. I make sure that I have a super annoying alarm sound set. I even turn on my ringer, even though everything I've ever read has claimed that's unnecessary. I'm tired of this phone making me seem like a huge piece of sh*t. I'm tired of waking up to angry texts because Apple cannot design a phone with a functioning alarm on it. Is there any kind of fix? Or anything at all that I can do? [link] [comments] |
iPhone 8 automatically connected to a new wifi network Posted: 08 Aug 2018 08:20 PM PDT Hey hey, Couldn't find an answer on google so I thought I'd try here. I got an iPhone 8 two days ago, and I've just come back to my family home and it automatically connected to the wifi even though this is the first time I've been here with the new phone. Didn't have to put in a password or anything. I do have an iPad that's signed in with the same Apple ID and has been connected to this wifi before. Was the wifi info just passed from my iPad to my phone automatically? Is this a cool feature I haven't come across yet? I'm just curious, it could come in handy in the future. Thank yoouu [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Aug 2018 07:26 PM PDT Is it an upgrade over my Galaxy S7? I want to try out iOS (last apple phone was 4s) and the iPhone 7 is at the apple store for a reasonable amount. Is it a phone worth buying in 2018? Anyone with reviews, tips, case suggestions, colour suggestions are welcome. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 04:44 AM PDT So I just got the iPhone X and i have always closed my apps by tapping on the home button twice. Now I wonder if that is necessary at all? Does it drain my battery life faster? [link] [comments] |
