[Discussion] For Users Experiencing Black Screens and Crashes in Settings, Here is the Solution Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:25 AM PDT Hey all, I've been seeing a lot of these posts come about lately, and rightfully so. My hope is that by sharing the fix to this issue, we'll see less related posts in r/iOSBeta and be able to help folks out. The current issues with Settings are caused by having removed a core set of Apple apps from your device (relating to the bug). These apps are: Voice Memos Mail Maps FaceTime To prevent further crashing and issues, go into the App Store and reinstall any or all of these default apps. Just having them present on your device is sufficient. Again, this is a known issue and mentioned in Apple's developer documentation for the latest beta. It is perhaps the biggest bug in Beta 6 (PB 5) - look for a fix in the next release. Thanks! submitted by /u/TyShark [link] [comments]

[Bug]? Haptic feedback not working Posted: 09 Aug 2018 05:22 AM PDT The question mark is because I'm not entirely sure if this is a bug or hardware issue. iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 12 PB5 and my home button has lost its haptic feedback. The weirdest spot is the home button, if you put your ear up to the speaker you can hear a clicking sound being mimicked. This issue comes and goes throughout the day. I did a quick search nothing showed up (might have missed it). Is anyone experiencing this issue? TL;DR: Haptic feedback comes and goes on my iPhone (including home button). [Bugs] Settings app goes black after a few seconds Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:33 AM PDT I've tried a reboot and closing all apps. But it seems that when I open the settings app, it goes black after a few seconds. I'm on the iPhone X. So I'm able to swipe up to go to the home screen when it happens. [Bug] PB5 6S Cellular data coverage being affected Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:30 AM PDT Upgraded to PB5 on my 6S as many did and I've been having this issue with my cellular service. Call and text seem to normal but for a few hours each day so far, my data signal ahs been wild. Going from 1x to 3g to Extended to no service. During the times when it would fluctuate I may see 1 bar of LTE but it would rarely load anything. I hadn't seen any posts regarding cell coverage. Never had any issues with PB1-4 and only exclusively started happening after installing PB5. I have Verizon and my area has always had fast speeds. [Bug] homekit geofencing Posted: 09 Aug 2018 05:02 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm using homekit to automate my Hue lights. It seems that all of a sudden my geofencing is not working properly anymore. I made an automation: "turn the lights off when the last person leaves" which is based on "home". When I look at the location it matches my home location, but the red circle (to set the proximity) is not available. When I select another location (like the grocery store that is available in maps) it does get the red circle, but I cannot save the automation for "all family members". Anyone else having this issue? [Bug] Help, iBooks won’t download! Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:17 AM PDT I was having trouble with iBooks and thought that deleting and reinstalling the app would fix the problem. Now I am unable to reinstall iBooks. When I try to download the app it says «waiting» and then «iBooks could not be downloaded, please try again later». I am running iOS 12 beta 6 on an iPhone X.
