So I just bought 2018 15" maxed out MBP. Except with 256GB storage.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:57 PM PDT

    Model: 2018 MacBook Pro 15-inch

    Colour: Space Gray

    Processor: Core i9

    Memory: 32GB

    Graphics: Radeon Pro 560X

    Storage: 256GB

I never plan to store anything local. Everything is on the cloud. So my concern is about that infamous "system" storage. In 5 years time, will it ever going to reach around my max ssd storage? Also, the performance of my mbp will not be affected by the storage size right? As in my mbp will perform the same as the one that has 4TB storage?

Macbook Pro 13 inch with or without touchbar?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 04:26 PM PDT

Looking to get a new Macbook as my primary on-the-go driver. Right now I have a 2015 12 inch Macbook that I use when I'm out and about. I pretty much use it for light productivity such as emails, for writing (I'm a writer), music production (also a musician), and video editing. It does emails and light productivity just fine and I LOVE the size and how compact it is, but it could be better for music prod and video editing (I use ableton and final cut respectively). I'm traveling more and more cause of work and am starting to get to the point where I could use a laptop with more processing power.

Only reason why I was leaning towards the touchbar MBP is because of the quad-core processor (I could care less about the touchbar personally), but even if I can find one refurbished it seems like a steep price.

I'm just curious, for the tasks I'm gonna be using it for is it really necessary? Or should the 7th gen dual-core procs on the baseline non-touch bar MBP be enough? Sure the touchbar MBP will be more "future-proof", but its really just the processing power that's a deal breaker for me.

So far this laptop is great. It was delivered right on time. Although I wasn't so thrilled about USPS just leaving it on the door step but that's not Amazon's fault. The computer itself was described as new and it is.I've always wanted a MacBook so I'm super excited that I finally have one. I purchased it for school purposes so we'll see how well it performs when I really get to using it. Overall, I love it so far!

Audio jack suddenly stopped working on MBP??

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 04:27 PM PDT

Hey guys, so I've tried everything to solve this and I have no idea what happened.

Was using headphones with my 2011 MBP last night and everything was fine. Put it to sleep, woke up today and when I used the headphones I get no sound. It just comes from the internal speaker.

Can hardware just crap out like this overnight?? So confused.

Surely this refurbished MacBook from eBay is too good to be true?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:58 PM PDT

    Linked it here for you.

A 2014 MacBook Pro with i7, 16GB RAM and 256GB of storage all for just £760?? Thats surely way too good to be true. The Official Apple Refurbished MacBooks obviously cost way more and not have enough options, but they're official. This just seems so odd to me, they seem to have good reviews, and also offer a 12 month warranty with it. But I've also had a look at other refurbished MacBook sites and they sell Mancbooks with lower specifications for even more money. See here and here.

Does this eBay one look too good to be true, or are the other refurbished MacBook sites just overpriced?

New 2018 MacBook pro 13 inch with touchbar froze and shut itself off. Now it won't turn on. What do?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:04 AM PDT

I was charging my MacBook and it had 46% battery. Then as I was browsing the web, it suddenly froze. After about 20 seconds it shut itself off.

Now I can't turn it on anymore. Since there is no power button on yhisclaptop, I can't force it to turn on either. What should I do?

    Does a 4k 60hz dongle/adapter even exist?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:12 AM PDT

So I am running a 1440p ultrawide monitor on my MacBook Pro 15 2018. I can only get it to run at 50hz through my hyperdrives hdmi port, so I understand that I need an adapter to make it run at 60hz. I really want a clean look with just one cable, so that I can dock my MacBook faster, but I haven't found a single adapter with an hdmi that outputs 4K 60hz. I know that you can get a Satechi one that's just a plane cable but I would like something that would for an example have more ports + an hdmi 4K 60hz. Like the hyperdrive, but with 60hz. I have been looking for it for a long time now, and haven't discovered anything yet. Do some of you guys have any tips?
