    I have an iPhone 7 that I bought in Dubai over Christmas a couple of years ago. I live in the EU and was always a bit upset that FaceTime wasn't available since I bought the device in the UAE.

    Earlier today I noticed that there was a FaceTime icon on my home screen! Googling it and it looks like a couple of months ago Apple was in talks with the UAE government to have it unblocked. I can't see anything more recent than that, but it looks like they may have just made the change since I have FaceTime now.

    It does say "waiting for activation" when I open the app, but apparently that isn't abnormal and will go away in 24 hours.

    All the wallpapers from macOS Mojave Developer Beta 5, including the cool images used for various Mac promos, *except the dynamic "Mojave.heic" and "Solar Gradients.heic" because they're too big and only work in Mojave itself anyway.

    Using these on a 12.9" wide-color iPad too and they look sexy af.

    PSA: If like me you've been hoarding wallpapers from all iOS / macOS versions (thanks to chandlerbing) in one place, you might run into some naming conflicts eg. in the "Abstract" series.

    PSA: How to search the web using Spotlight Search on macOS

    So I just randomly figured this out right now, and it blew my mind:

    1. CMD + Space bar (launches Spotlight Search)
    2. Type in a query, e.g., "iOS tips"
    3. CMD + B

    It will then take the text you typed, "iOS tips", and open it in your default browswer and search for it using your default search provider (Google/DDG/etc).

    This is amazing because it allows us to search in a browser from anywhere at anytime.

    All Spotlight keyboard shortcuts:

    CMD + B: Opens the default browser and searchs the internet

    CMD + L: Takes you straight to the definition of the word you typed

    CMD + K: Opens the default browser and opens the first wikipedia article

    Hi guys,

    I just want to check with you guys is my iPad 2018 9.7 battery life are working okay/no problem

    Usually How many hours can your new iPad 2018 last ?

    If you watching YouTube, can the iPad last around 10hours like how the official Apple website giving the 10hours battery life with watching video, games and so on.

    While I watching YouTube for 3 hours it's drop from 100% to 50% is that normal ?

    Apple Maps, if you notice an issue with the information, route or directions, submit a report.

    I've been solely an Apple Maps user for a few years (used all over the US) and honestly the only problems I've ever had are entrances to parks (i.e. baseball or large soccer parks that have numerous fields) where the directions may not end in an ideal location. But each time I've submitted a correction within a week I would receive a notification that it's been updated. I would normally just take a screenshot of the correct parking lot or entrance and submit using the "Report an Issue" option.

    I recently had to do it for a radiologist that moved and Apple Maps had the old location. The radiologist said that quite a few people say they get lost. I submitted an issue with the correct address and pin where it should be and less than a week received a notification it was fixed. Now if one of those lost people had just reported the issue, then I would not have been lost LOL. It helps us all.

    Remind me at a location is a game changer!

    I usually don't use the Reminders app from iOS because I always thought you had to assign a time and the i never assign a good one. Today I had to remind myself about something for when I got home (clipping my nails lol) and I thought about "Do not disturb while at a location," wondering if reminders had a similar thing. It does!

    I just thought that not many people know about this feature, is it in iOS 12 or has no one said much about it?

    This was from an interview in 2012, and he said this was part of his motivation for leaving Compaq for Apple in the late 90's:

    Apple was the only technology company I knew of where if a customer got angry with the company, they would yell and yell loudly but they would continue to buy. And Compaq, if people got angry at Compaq, they would just buy from Dell. And Dell, if they got angry at Dell, they would just buy from IBM. And so people were moving freely to and fro, but an Apple customer was a unique breed.

    While the dynamic desktop feature doesn't really add much to performance or productivity, I look forward to all of the new wallpaper creations Apple or users will create.

    Personally, I'd love a dynamic desktop wallpaper that features the galaxy as planets rotate and revolve around the sun. It'd be really cool to have some space themed dynamic wallpapers for users to choose from. Maybe one of Earth rotating and the moon in orbit that changes as the month progresses.
