Why doesn't the stopwatch appear in the lock screen? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:16 PM PDT It only makes sense. Especially when its a long timer and you just want to check it by turning on your phone and not going into the app. sorry for third post, got the title right this time! [link] [comments] |

Would it be okay to ask for a poster from an Apple Store? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 11:38 AM PDT Hey everyone! I redesigning my office in a few weeks, and I have this idea that I'll get old Apple Store promotional images (for iMac, MacBook, iPhone etc), and frame them and hang them up. The only problem is I don't know if I would be wasting my time due to Apple Copyright/policies? Just wondering would it be okay to go into an Apple Store and request old posters that are broken/no longer in use so I can use them? Thanks everyone! :) [link] [comments] |
TIL Apple has a part # for the paper bags they offer at the store Posted: 09 Aug 2018 12:03 PM PDT while shopping at an Apple store in Suffolk county NY, i asked for a paper bag, to which they charged me a nickel (its county law). Apple actually sent me a receipt for the nickel. I guess you can say the part number is for the "fee"? [link] [comments] |
siri continuity(?) is kinda freaking me out Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:19 AM PDT I manually (cmd+space) triggered Siri on my MacBook Pro just now and said "play [song]" which it responded to normally, but also triggered my iPhone sitting nearby which I did not touch and I feel like I'm going crazy but I'm at least 90% sure I did not say 'hey siri', as its not in the transcription like it is when I do say it. the only siri related interdevice communication I've heard of is when multiple devices hear it and one takes over, but this is kinda the opposite maybe something odd shipped with the latest betas, cause nothing else I can think of makes sense right now [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:55 AM PDT There's a game called "dancing line" that my 8 yo daughter likes and I even bought the game to remove the ads, but this shitty developer make the app always shows the button when you die so you can resume the game without starting over, and this shows ads. There's one ad that keeps playing often and the game is called "episode" and it shows a girl flirting, girl kissing a girl and I think this is inappropriate for my daughter. How do I make sure this kind of ad not showing in the game? This is worrying for parents who let their kids play the iPad. Edit: I'm always with my kids when they play the iPad, but I worry if that ad will show up when I'm not focused with them. Update: the devs finally answered and confirmed that there will be no ads showing when I disable the internet. [link] [comments] |
anyone using Google Project Fi on iphone and ipad? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:50 PM PDT I'm very tempted but the full features (choosing different providers) can't be used on iPhone. And you need an Android phone to activate it. But still very tempting especially for overseas travel. [link] [comments] |
iPhone X Fast Charging Battery Case Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:52 AM PDT I'm looking for a case that has a high amp output so I can charge my phone while in use to prevent the phone from dying. I am using the Phone solely for videography for an entire day so I need something that can charge the phone almost as quickly as it depletes. I've searched around and only found a few cases that support up to 1.3A output at 5V. [link] [comments] |
As a learning iOS software dev, at what point should I join Apple’s Developer Program Posted: 09 Aug 2018 11:21 AM PDT Hi, So I'm working on learning iOS Swift development with the hope of eventually putting my apps on the App Store. Currently I'm just doing tutorials rather than anything involved and independent or unique. I'm wondering at what point I should actually plunk down the money for a first year of the Developer Program. Should I wait til I have a full-featured app before I front the cash? Or Are there resources I'm missing out on by not joining earlier? If there are other devs out there I'd love some advice. Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:22 AM PDT I was at 100% 4 hours ago and now I'm at 20%?! I have barely used it, only playing music. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:14 AM PDT Curious if anyone has noticed significant differences between the 15" and 13" 2018 MBP battery lives? I had the 13" for 14 days and noticed a much faster battery drain throughout, even after indexing and other new setup processes had finished. Now that I'm back to a 15" the battery seems to last for much longer (even under heavy use). Just curious whether others have heard/experienced same thing? [link] [comments] |
