- What happens with iCloud Sync after a Time Machine restore?
- Shortcut for frequent non-standard characters
- Probably impossible: is it possible to reset itunes to its factory default, WITHOUT losing media, metadata, play counts, etc...?
- Is there an application or something I can run to return an applications window size to default?
- Move iMessage log to new Mac/ Apple ID
- How clean of an install is a guest account?
- App that let links open in specific webbrowsers
- [Mojave Beta] Would love to have a Dark Mode slider so you can set how dark you truly want it. Dark Mode is too dark, if that makes any sense.
- Is it possible to make hidden folders look like normal folders?
What happens with iCloud Sync after a Time Machine restore? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:34 PM PDT Hey guys, Basically I need to restore my system from a 2 weeks old time machine backup. In the mean time I changed lots of files in my Desktop and Documents which sync via iCloud. So what will happen to my iCloud synced folders after I do the restore? Will the local files be updated based on iCloud? Will the iCloud files be updated based on the old local files? Or will I have duplicate files in both my iCloud and local drive? Can't find any documentation about this, please help. [link] [comments]
Shortcut for frequent non-standard characters Posted: 25 Jul 2018 02:02 AM PDT I'm Spanish and just got a keyboard with the American layout. I can type all kind of Spanish-specific characters (á, é, ñ...) by long pressing the key to show the menu, and then pick the right character depending of the number. However, this number might be 1, 2, 3, 4... So, I'm interested in whether it's possible to change the order of the symbols in that shortcuts menu so that on number 1 I have exactly the character I want, in any of the keys. For example, á is o number 2, é is on 2, à is on 3, ó is on 4, ú is on 4, ñ is on 1... I want all of them to be on number 1 if possible. [link] [comments]

Is there an application or something I can run to return an applications window size to default? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:58 AM PDT For example, when you first open iTunes on a Mac the application window is relatively small, so most people resize the window to fit their needs. Is there an application that you can use that can set the desired size in pixels or set the sizes back to their factory default? [link] [comments]
Move iMessage log to new Mac/ Apple ID Posted: 24 Jul 2018 10:30 AM PDT Hi, Is this possible to move the chat.db and other files to a new Mac to restore old conversation history on the Mac. This is a new Mac with a new Apple ID. If not is it possible to read the chat.db if the old Mac is gone? [link] [comments]
How clean of an install is a guest account? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:45 AM PDT I've been trying to get some older PC games running on my Macbook, using either Wine/WineBottler or PlayOnMac, and I've had success so far, so I'd like to make some tutorials on how I did it. I've already had Wine installed on my system, as well as XQuartz, and Xcode's Command Line tools if that changes anything, so I'd like to take it from a bare bones install to see what may be necessary that I might have already had installed and am forgetting about. Would using a guest account give me a fresh enough install to test this out, or are items like that tied to the whole computer instead of just my user? [link] [comments]

Is it possible to make hidden folders look like normal folders? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:48 AM PDT I am a developer/power user and hate that half of / is transparent. Is there a way to make hidden folders look as if they were normal folders? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
