| What's the best way to cast from my Android phone? Posted: 21 Jul 2018 07:21 PM PDT I have a 1080P projector, a 4k AppleTV, and a Microsoft Miracast. Currently I have to manually switch HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 on the projector to switch between casting from my Macbook to casting from the Android. My hope -- some way to get both to cast on a 4k TV I'm planning to buy, but without the hassle of switching the input. I'm willing to buy anything else needed - Roku, FireTV, Chromecast. I'm open to whatever the best solution is. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 21 Jul 2018 05:11 PM PDT I recorded a 4K video to my iPhone X today, then went to view it via AirPlay on my OLED 4K TV through my Apple TV 4K but there was no sound. What I did is open the "Photos" app, selected the video, hit the share button on the bottom and hit AirPlay. Got Video but no sound. Why? If it's by design then what app will allow me to AirPlay videos recorded on my iPhone to my TV with sound? FYI, I did it with a non 4K video and got the same results. One note that may or may not be relevant is that I am using the beta TVos 12 on my Apple TV 4K. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]  |
| Apple TV Airplay Issues - Advice? Posted: 21 Jul 2018 05:45 PM PDT I have a 3rd generation Apple TV that I've used religiously since I got it 3-4 years ago. The last several months, I've been having an issue with Airplay mirroring (to stream tv shows from my laptop to TV). The show I'm streaming on my laptop runs the video smoothly, but on the TV the video and audio will intermittently skip and freeze up. Obviously this makes it difficult and annoying to watch. I'm assuming that the problem is the Apple TV and not my internet, as I haven't had any internet issues on any other device. Since this has been happening off and on for months, I'm considering getting a new Apple TV, but don't want to get a new one only to have the same problem. So does anyone know if there's something to do to correct this issue on my current Apple TV? Were there known issues with this on older models and therefore a new Apple TV would solve this? | Posted: 21 Jul 2018 01:29 PM PDT Hi guys. Hope someone can answer this. The screen turns black for 1-3 seconds, then it shows the screen again. I have had this problem for a while, then I read that you should reset your Apple TV, and in the past it have solved the problem. But after the newest iOS update, the problem is no longer playback of video, it happens even in the menu. I first thought it was because of internet connection, or bad video rips. But that doesn't seem to be the problem, since my Apple TV is wired and not wifi, and on playback of the same rip, there's no problems. Have anybody else experienced this? [link] [comments]  |
| AppleTV 4K newest tvOS beta can't purchase or download anything? Posted: 21 Jul 2018 08:19 AM PDT So it's been a couple weeks since I've used my 4K Apple TV as I've been out of town. Came back last night and the latest beta had downloaded. Now I can't purchase or download anything from the App Store. It gets to the part of me entering my credentials and then acts like it's going to start downloading and then returns me to asking for my credentials. Anyone else having this issue? | Posted: 21 Jul 2018 10:49 AM PDT Not able to get chroma 4:2:2 and the display on my Samsung Q8FN w/ Denon X2400H receiver flickers / blank screen sometimes. Was told to replace the HDMI cable. So I bought the belkin ultra HD from Apple, and ran it from appletv 4k to receiver. Same issue. So now I'm looking to replace the cable from tv to receiver. The belkin is 6 for long. I need at least 15ft to be safe. Any recommendations so I can get this issue fixed and not have to rerun cables again (cable is in the wall)? Thanks [link] [comments]  |
