    MacBook Early 2015 Limits?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 10:06 AM PDT

Hello, I'm currently looking for a MacBook, I really don't care which one as long as its NOT a C2D, and is under $600. I've been recently searching long and wide for one on eBay and I see MacBook Early 2015s showing up, some under $600. What limits do these laptops contain with their weak m3 Processors? Like I plan to do virtualization for Operating System testing and Linux Development. I would also like to play LIGHT games and basic word processing. Will this laptop be able to handle it? I know this is comparable to a laptop for 2012 but what would be the difference between that one and this one?

Macbook Air Click Sound from bottom plate

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 07:14 AM PDT

My Macbook Air makes a click/creaking sound occasionally when I pick it up or use the keyboard when it is on my lap. I've taken it to the genius bar and today I was told that they checked the internal parts etc. and found no issue. The noise is really annoying and I think there is a high chance that the issue is not resolved since I'm told that they've found no problem. How should I proceed when I go to take my Air back again. I don't want to live with this noise forever.

    Overheating in bag

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 12:45 PM PDT

In college I once had a laptop(non MacBook) wake from a sleep while in a bag and it was extremely hot by the time I got home. So ever since I've been paranoid and only put my laptop in my bag after shutting down since on most PCs that I've had it required pressing the physical power button to boot it up so it would stay shut down. Now I have my first MacBook and it seems that if I sleep it or shut it down it can be woken up fairly easily. Lifting the lid, plugging it in or un plugging it, etc all will wake it up.

Does anyone else worry about any form of overheating in a backpack with their MacBook? Is it safe to just close the lid and stuff it in a bag? Should I sleep it before doing this? Again I'm likely overly paranoid from a bad experience in college with a PC but I just don't want to fry a new MacBook.

What's the best aftermarket battery for macbook air?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 08:14 AM PDT

There are 100s on amazon but can't trust amazon reviews so I am here asking if anyone has bought an aftermarket battery that they were happy with. Also, what to avoid.

MacBook Pro 2018 screen defect or normal?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 03:47 AM PDT

So after picking up a new 2018 MacBook Pro 13 I noticed that there was an obvious gap between the edge of the screen and the rubber gasket. It seems like a lot of dust has already collected inside. I thought it must be a defect but a quick google search revealed that this problem wasn't uncommon. Can anyone else with 2017 / 2018 mbp verify if they have this issue? There are no apple stores in my country so I want to make sure its worth the hassle before doing anything.

From above you can see the gap on the left side is much larger than on the right.

Weird spot under my screen? 2015 macbook pro

    Posted: 22 Jul 2018 02:19 AM PDT

Hey guys, used my macbook pro 2015 15inch late at night outside and when I wanted to use it the next morning there was this weird spot in the upper right corner of my screen. It looks like a screen protector of an earlier iPhone? Could be coincidence though. Anyway can anyone figure out what this is and what I should do? I still have apple care till next year.
