How do I know what plug-ins or add-ons I have installed? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 12:54 AM PDT I just recently realized that removing the prefpane, doesn't remove the app. Case Flash player: I Installed Flash maybe a year ago because I needed it for something small. I removed the preference pane soon after, thinking it would uninstall Flash. Just today I found out that I still had to run the Flash player Install Manager to uninstall the damned program. But that IM wasn't anywhere easily found. I could only run it via Spotlight and searching for "flash". Is there a way for me to see what other apps I might still have installed which I solely removed the prefpane for? Kind regards. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 May 2018 10:02 PM PDT I bought a used Mac mini 2012(price was too good not to buy) I'm on high Sierra is it just me or does airdrop no longer work? No devices show up in the finder under the airdrop tab. I don't have any options via finder to enable or disable or choose who can connect to preform an airdrop. Bluetooth also connects and disconnects within secs when I try to connect my iPhone X and iPhone 6s but Magic Mouse and keyboard work fine. I tried resetting the nvram and restarting the Bluetooth module. Anyone have similar experiences? Is high Sierra good for hardware that's dated or should I go down to el capiton? The Mac mini doesn't have a ssd for now. It has a i5 and 8gb of ram. airdrop tab [link] [comments]
Ebook reader app that supports highlighting & annotations? Posted: 31 May 2018 08:39 PM PDT I currently use Calibre on my Mac for reading my ebooks, which are generally a mix of epub, PDF, and mobi formats. I have been searching for an ebook reader app that supports highlighting and annotations, but the only apps I've found so far are too format restricted for me (eg. MarginNote only supports epub and PDF, Skim only supports PDF, etc.). Does anyone know of an app like this that supports a wider variety of formats? [link] [comments]

Mac is overriding the DND settings on iDevices Posted: 31 May 2018 07:00 AM PDT I enjoy using Do Not Disturb on my Mac at home, on occassion. But something weird is happening when I use it. If I am at home with my Mac and DND is on, my iPhone and iWatch do not play notification sounds or notify me at all that I have text messages etc… But if I leave home, (no longer on my wifi) the text messages and notifications all return. Even though, the phone, ipad and watch do not have DND enabled. I eventually turned DND off on the Mac and everything gets notifications. But DND on my Mac keeps getting re-enabled a day later. Now, I know what you're thinking, I have my Mac scheduled to DND. I do not. I even enabled and then disabled it again just in the possibility to clear any saved setting. The only thing that has DND enable is my iPhone for the hours of 12am – 7am. And that works fine. The Mac seems to be an all-day DND thing. My work mac does not suffer from this issue. Every device is up-to-date on their Oss. Has anyone else encountered this issue where the Mac's DND is overriding the phone and watches? [link] [comments] |
