Purchased movies showing 4K & HDR on iOS but not on Apple TV Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:03 PM PDT I own the Matrix Trilogy on iTunes and noticed recently, on my iPad, that they've been upgraded to 4K Dolby Vision. The same is true on my iPhone X. However, when I went to watch one of them on my Apple TV 4K just now, it doesn't show the the 4K or Dolby Vision logos for any of the Matrix films. I've double-checked with some other films I know have been upgraded to 4K, such as Pacific Rim and The Martian, and the logos are showing on all devices including the Apple TV 4K. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have any idea what's causing it? I'm hoping it's not a nuanced licensing situation... I was really looking forward to seeing Neo kick some Agent ass in 4K. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:23 PM PDT Can you recommend me one? My wife hates navigating YouTube etc with the remote and to be honest it can be quite frustrating especially when you've had a few bevvies. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:06 PM PDT Having trouble hitting the right keywords to find other people that have had and resolved this issue. Quite regularly, especially after having left the Apple TV alone for a few hours, when I use the remote to select things within apps or long press the menu button to go home, the Apple TV goes black for several seconds before responding. Sometimes it doesn't even respond to the event but returns to wherever it was before. Ultimately I end up rebooting when this happens. More recently I noticed that my HomeKit events were triggering less reliably until I restarted it as well. So I reset the Apple TV to original state and set it up again. Unfortunately it's still exhibiting the lag problem sometimes. To be clear- this is not the common remote lag problem I've read about with the Apple TV taking a while to respond to input. It responds immediately. It just goes black on screen. Any ideas? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Preventing iTunes purchases from showing in Up Next Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:59 AM PDT I tend to buy movies from iTunes in bulk when there are sales, but they all show up immediately in my Up Next queue. I don't want to watch them immediately. Anyway to remove them or prevent them from showing up here without doing it one by one? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:13 PM PDT Hello guys, please advice me please best connection options Basically now Apple tv 4k connected to soundbar, from soundbar to TV (LG 2017 tv) through HDMI Arc Sometimes when i am trying to wake up apple tv, my tv cant see connection. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 05:00 PM PDT I'm monitoring my WiFi network, and no one new has joined. But somehow someone has twice tried to broadcast on my Apple TV (the 4-digit code screen popped up with two devices I didn't recognize). How is this possible if they're not on my WiFi network? I do have Xfinity, which broadcasts its own public WiFi (which I'll be disabling), but in theory that shouldn't have any crosstalk with my home network, right? [link] [comments] |
question about the TV app from someone who’s interested in ATV Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:29 AM PDT hey guys i'm interested in getting an Apple tv but want to clarify something about the tv app. I have it on my ipad and it seems useless. I mean it consolidates all my streaming apps I guess but when I click on a show i've been watching it takes me to the app first (say hbo) and then i have to find the episode again in the HBO app. On the ATV, does it play directly from the TV app or does it basically just redirect you to the app the show is playing from [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:33 PM PDT Guys, I don't want to get kicked outta here, so asking before hand, but I have made 2 vlogs on Apple TVOS12 beta 1 and beta 2. Am I allowed to post? Would anyone be interested? [link] [comments] |
