| Posted: 18 Jun 2018 04:11 PM PDT I have heard about both and have preferred Beamer as it is simple. I just drag a file and it plays on my ATV4. Is there something as simple in Infuse or Plex? I can't seem to find any in-depth, besides for Dolby Vision (Dark) and I don't think it looks as good compared to calibrated ISF and the three HDR settings. The picture looks too soft. I'm watching Forrest Gump and Braveheart, and Lawrence of Arabia 4k looked better. Been trying for a year to get DV to look terrific. Thank You! [link] [comments]  | ||
| "Resolution not supported" on 4K TV using ATV 4K connected to gigabit switch Posted: 19 Jun 2018 02:24 AM PDT So I have the ATV 4K connected to a Samsung UHD Series 5 TV. I recently upgraded to a gigbit switch for my network connected to my home router, so I can stream from my home server some of the 4k content I have stored. The streaming works great, but oftentimes the screen goes blank and then brings up a resolution not supported error. I've tried the following:
It keeps happening now and again, and when I switch to other sources (Netflix app on Smart TV) the problem sometimes persists and have to change source, or switch off TV to get it back to normal. Could the switch be the problem (which I suspect)? And if so, what can I do about it (short of disconnecting it)? TIA [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 18 Jun 2018 06:21 PM PDT Hello redditors. I come to you in my time of need. I have had my apple tv 4k from close to release. Last week my netflix account stated that it is having issue. I tried logging in again to the same issue. I have tried the following: Closing the app, deleting the app, restarting my router, restarting my modem, resetting my apple tv, tried a new cable, and switching from hard line to wifi. Nothing is working. My wife uses the apple tv every night and would love to watch her shows but we cannot. My 4th gen works over wifi in the bedroom. I cannot figure out what is wrong. | Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:58 PM PDT I have a Vizio P65 with an Apple TV 4K. I was playing around trying to get AirPlay 2 to sync up better with the speakers connected to the Vizio and some of my Homepods, and I tried turning on Low Latency mode in the picture settings on my TV. Doing so not only fixed the audio lag issue (Really loving AirPlay 2 now) but also surprisingly made my remote control feel much more responsive. Made me change my opinion on the remote—I like it much better now. Supposedly the TV adds about a half second delay without that enabled, which had a pretty drastic effect on overall responsiveness. | Posted: 18 Jun 2018 04:49 PM PDT My Apple TV display was squished. I fiddled around with the Audio and Video resolution and realized it was only squished when it was set to the setting that used to be the best looking. I couldn't fix it so I reset the Apple TV. Big mistake! I had broken the original remote a long time ago and had been using my Samsung tv's remote via the learn remote thingy as well as my phone. Once reset the Apple TV forgot my phone and Samsung remote. I managed to set it up with my phone by touching the Apple TV with it but can't control it. Do I need a new remote or can I find a way use it without the original remote(which is broke) [link] [comments]  | ||
| One home screen - apps not installing Posted: 18 Jun 2018 10:22 AM PDT Just purchased an Apple TV4K, making it the third Apple TV in my household. My other two are 4th gen not-4K. I have 'one home screen' turned on for all 3. When I set up my new Apple TV 4K with one home screen option turned on, it only installs 75% of the apps I have on the others. The other apps are there, but are greyed out and show "Waiting" under the icon. When I click on the icon it displays a message: Cannot be installed. App no longer available in the App Store. The apps are clearly available, so I'm not sure why this is happening. I have to delete them and go to the App Store to install from there. Anyone else experience this? Some of the apps that were affected by this are: Paramount TV, DisneyNOW, Nick, Nick Jr. Should also mention.. all Apple TVs are running the latest version of tvOS. Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

Trying here to see if that helps :-) Ok please hear me out, this is an odd problem. When I load content on the amazon prime video app I don't get any 4K content. BUT if I resume that same movie or TV show from the Apple TV app it will start playing in 4K UHD. What gives? Seems like a problem with the Amazon Prime Video app but that's one really odd problem. | Anyone having issues AirPlaying videos from iOS 12? Posted: 18 Jun 2018 11:56 PM PDT I've noticed that trying to AirPlay from my iOS 12 devices that it's very intermittent at best. Usually you can kickstart a video but if you try to scrub around it just flashes on the screen, and then gives up and plays on the original device. Happens on both my iPad and iPhone on iOS 12, and my ATV 4 on 11.4, and persisted when upgrading to tvOS 12. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Vizio TV/ Apple 4k audio issue Posted: 18 Jun 2018 06:16 PM PDT This is my configuration. Vizio E55 e-1 with optical cable running to optical on my vizio soundbar, soundbar does not have hdmi. AppleTV 4k with HDMI running to HDMI1, that supports 4k/hdr. Audio on Apple TV is set to Dolby Digital 5.1. If I stream to the tv with a known 5.1 source and go to the vizio menu, system/system info it shows that the sound is stereo. Am I getting erroneous info, am I paranoid:)....regardless, still get all channels, back, left right, subwoofer and main center bar sending the appropriate audio. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Rollback tvOS 12 beta on Apple TV 4K Posted: 18 Jun 2018 02:42 PM PDT I know it's my own damn fault, but does anyone know if there's a way to rollback the tvOS beta on the Apple TV 4K? The installation was initially done by dragging a profile over to Apple Configurator 2, so is there a "default" profile available somewhere I can use to convince the Apple TV to point to 11.4?
