Posted: 07 Jun 2018 09:19 PM PDT I recently bought a late 2015 MacBook Pro 13" and I've been having an issue that seems to be a kernel panic. I tried installing the macOS Mohave beta yesterday and the issue started so I figured that was the problem, and I factory reset my computer and reinstalled macOS high Sierra (since I didn't have anything to lose). Now, all I have installed is google chrome and I'm having the same problem occur. Whenever I'm just using the computer (web browsing, YouTube, listening to music, etc.), it'll freeze for a few seconds and pop up with a message saying something along the lines of "your Mac has run into a problem and needs to restart. Press any key or wait a few seconds to reboot." I've made sure to update everything and do basically everything else the internet has told me to do and now I'm stuck. Any ideas? Thank you in advance! Does writing heavy files on external drives helps to increase SSD life? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 10:12 PM PDT I have work of downloading multiple files upto 500MB and converting them to different formats daily. So instead of downloading to SSD and rendering them on external drives helps to increase SSD life or it doesn't matter in newer systems? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jun 2018 09:40 PM PDT I have a 2007 MBP that has a dead battery, I need to replace it, and I see all of the $20-$30 batteries on Amazon and eBay and am sure that those aren't very good. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a good third party battery that I can get for under like $40. [link] [comments]
Question... How to run 4 monitors on MBP... Posted: 07 Jun 2018 02:59 PM PDT Getting a new MBP 15" for my new job. I want to be able to run 4 monitors. What is the most economical solution? I think a decent Thunderbolt 3 dock that supports 2 monitors + a Thunderbolt 3 dual display adapter should work according to - https://hengedocks.com/blogs/henge-docks-blog/how-to-run-external-displays-with-your-usb-c-thunderbolt-3-macbook Am I missing anything? note: I have 0 experience with MAC but been running linux as my main OS for 8+ years. MacBook: Finder can‘t be opened Posted: 07 Jun 2018 08:43 AM PDT Hi I have a problem with my MacBook. Every time I start it up, a pop up appears: „Finder can't be opened".The pop up closes and opens all the time and I can't even move my mouse or press anything. I have already tried to restart and start in safe mode. Can anyone help? [link] [comments]

Can a damaged I/O board slow down the laptop? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 12:21 PM PDT 2015 Macbook Air I spilled water on my Macbook so I opened it up and took it apart. Cleaned it with some alcohol and reassembled it. My Macbook won't charge and the headphone jack doesn't work either. When I plug in the charger the Macbook detects it but says the battery is not charging the the magsafe light is not on. This leads me to believe the I/O board is damaged. But the Macbook is also very slow now. It boots up fast but once I log in it takes a while for everything to run and the wifi takes a long time to connect. [link] [comments]
How do you keep things in place in pages? !URGENT! Posted: 07 Jun 2018 03:37 AM PDT I'm working on a dossier for my animated shortfilm but I can't find a way to keep my storyboard in place. It's 65 pages long and it needs to be in the middle of the document (page 77). Everything I do above page 77 influences the placing of my storyboard (simple png files). Is there a way to lock things in place (what you've already done) , while still being able to edit the document? Its kinda urgent so all help is welcome! [link] [comments]
My spacebar is super sticky, help! Posted: 07 Jun 2018 04:10 AM PDT Whenever I push it down, it's stocky and doesn't feel like a full push. And no I don't have butterfly keys. 2015 MB. [link] [comments]
Prohibited sign and folders missing? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 12:34 AM PDT First of, I wake up today and start my mac like always and shows a prohibity sign. I find that I my be able to fix that with recovery mode, so I power it up while pressing command+R. Then I immediately restart the system because I have recently done nothing for this to happen: I haven't changed permissions and I haven't installed third party apps. System starts up fine, like always, and I'm like ???. Ok. But I go to finder and all the folders in "favorites" are missing, and not because I don't have them enable in finder's preferences. What is happening? Thanks in advance! EDITTTTT: false alarm, I just had to press "show"! I never hide them though... But I'm still curious about the reason why I got the prohibity sign.
