    Huge Dilemma ‍♂️

My 2008 Macbook died on me like 4 months ago and I was planning to upgrade it during June however Apple didn't announce any new MacBook Pro during WWDC. I can't wait till Sep/Oct for them to refresh the MacbookPro lineup as Semester 2 is starting soon. Therefore, I need your help to help me choose a MacbookPro. The options that I have right now are a new 2017 13in MacbookPro with TB 3.1GHZ dual core i5 256GB storage (NZD$2829/USD$1914), refurbished 2017 13in MacbookPro with TB 3.1GHZ 256GB storage (NZD$2549/USD$1724), new 2017 15in MacbookPro with TB 2.8GHZ quad core i7 256GB storage (NZD$3749/USD$2536) and a refurbished 2017 15in MacbookPro with TB 2.8GHZ quad core i7 256GB storage (NZD$3399/USD$2299) or should I just get a MacbookPro without TB 2.3GHZ dual core i5 256GB storage (NZD$2469/USD$1670). Thanks for reading😊

P.S. I don't want to spend too much on something that's gonna be refreshed soon as I don't want to regret my purchase after Apple refreshes their MacbookPro

Removed bulging battery, macbook doesnt run on direct power?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 07:45 PM PDT

    Hi guys,

Basically I just want to know if I should buy a replacement battery or if my macbook is dead.

I had to remove my battery from my Macbook (due to the battery bulging) model A1286). The guys at work said it should be able to run off the power adapter without a battery, only it doesn't.

The LED will blink about 5 times then I get the start up sound then it turns off.

Would appreciate any feedback, just don't want to waste my money on a battery if its not going to work.

    Thanks!

Macbook pro won't turn on all of the sudden

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 03:38 PM PDT

Woke up this morning and macbook wouldn't turn on. Took it to genius bar and said it would cost 475 dollars to figure out what's wrong with it and fix it.

What would you suggest I do? The laptop is about 3 years old.

    Thanks for any suggestions

    New MacBook (2017) trackpad issues

    Posted: 30 Jun 2018 07:46 AM PDT

Hi. I bought a MacBook a few weeks ago, and yesterday an issue started to pop up where my trackpad will start stuttering and not really tracking. It'll sutter and be unresponsive for about 5-10 seconds then go back to normal until it happens again a bit later. Is this a known issue? I've tried to reboot, but it didn't fix it, and I'm not sure what else to do since Google hasn't given me many results.
