Posted: 07 Jun 2018 12:34 AM PDT I have an iphone that needs to connect regularly to an internal webserver. When the webserver is not up and running, Safari tells me it cannot find the server, and this is the expected behavior. However, when I turn the damn server on and refresh the page, 50% of the time the phone will still give me a "server not found error". I need to turn the wifi on and off again multiple times or switch the access point used in order for it to start working. Sometimes, even when the webserver is reachable, if traffic is high and it cannot reach it, it will start giving me a "server not found" error. Traffic goes down but the phone still won't connect. The only solution is to restart the wifi connection multiple times......... I tried using an ip instead of the DNS, still no luck. How can I solve this? Android doesn't have this issue, so I'm trying hard to find a solution for this. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Risk that Apple block your device Posted: 07 Jun 2018 02:35 AM PDT Are there any risk that Apple block your device if you are using the beta profile and you are not subscribed to developer program? [link] [comments]
Any updates or improvements to Reminders in iOS 12? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 07:38 AM PDT I prefer Reminders to nearly every other to-do app, mainly because of seamless Siri integration and the fact that it's super-simple. I'm wondering if in iOS 12, they've finally added the ability to assign a due date without a time to a task. That would be such a huge improvement. [link] [comments]
iOS 12 Beta is great, but do yourself a favor and do not install it on your main phone just yet. Posted: 06 Jun 2018 06:27 PM PDT I've installed on my second phone (5s) and I absolutely love it. It feels almost llike an SE most of the time. The batery app is absolutely great, very comprehensive. The battery life and management is a lot better... I don't know if you're aware of the Whatsapp and Reddit apps issue... they eat a lot of battery doing background processes on 11.3.1 and 11.4, even with backround process specifically disabled for those apps. The only way to avoid it is force-close when you're donde with them, every time. This issue is solved in iOS 12 dev beta1. Grouped notifications are back and it is absolutely delightful. Screen time gives a lot of interesting info about screen use, and the data is beatifully presented. Having said that, I would not recommend it as your daily driver just yet... I am for example experiencing issues to sign in to applications like facebook messenger, facebook, instagram and twitter.... it takes a long time, or I have to restart the phone.... With twitter, the sign in screen was blank and it only hat the forgot password option. I had to follow that procedure and just put the same password and that's how I was able to sign in. at least once each, Insta and FB Messenger somehow logged off again and I had to retry several times to log back on. Apart from that, I've had at least three resprings in 24 hours. Edit: I'm also having a hard time logging in to skype. It basically starts the sign in process and then either resprings, or aborts, to the main screen. I haven't been able to sign in yet. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Jun 2018 10:55 AM PDT There still seems to be a lot of questions about what Apple means with the Automatic Updates feature in iOS 12 (https://9to5mac.com/2018/06/04/ios-12-beta-suggests-support-for-automatic-system-updates/). While consensus is that it'll allow auto-installing of the updates, similar to macOS, I'm wondering (hoping) that it also might mean that Apple could automatically update some of its core apps automatically without having to push out an entire point release. For example, Apple Music could benefit from this the most. If Apple wants to add new tweaks or features to Apple Music, this would be great if they could update just that app in the background to roll out the new functionality without waiting for a full system update.
