Is there a list of all iOS settings explained in detail? Posted: 31 May 2018 10:25 PM PDT As much as Apple try to make their devices intuitive, there are plenty of settings that don't provide enough detail about what they actually do when you're trying to troubleshoot problems. I'm talking about things like what combination of settings contribute to the Time & Location or iTunes Media Services mobile data usage, and what settings to disable to minimise excessive data use, or if it is possible to enable viewing of photos from the iCloud Photo Library over a cellular connection but prevent uploading of photos until you're back on Wi-Fi. I know there are blogs and articles around that provide an explanation of some, but as the developers of iOS, you would hope that Apple could provide a technical document that outlines everything. Posted: 01 Jun 2018 03:42 AM PDT If anyone on this subreddit is interested in jailbreaking his/her iPhone stay on 11.3.1. There is a very high chance a jailbreak will drop in less then a month. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jun 2018 07:19 AM PDT So im running iOS 11.2.2 on my 7 Plus and I want to update to 11.3.1 which is still signed but 11.4 is also signed and is the newest version so its the only option it is giving me in the software updates section. I do have my blobs saved. Im wondering is there a way to update from inside iTunes or on my iPhone without the use of IPSWs as 11.3.1 is still signed. [link] [comments]
iPhone 7 Plus battery life on iOS 11.4 Posted: 01 Jun 2018 06:40 AM PDT I've got almost 9 hours of screen on time with iOS 11.3, but after updating to 11.4 it decreased a LOT. 5 hours was the best so far, with normal usage. How is yours? [link] [comments]
How can I prevent app data deletion? Posted: 31 May 2018 06:41 PM PDT Hi guys, I have been playing a game called Summoners Wars for a long time and after updating my iPad Mini 2 to iOS 11 I started having a serious issue. The game has an auto update feature which updates constantly for cosmetics things and when you first install it you will download a huge amount of data due to this feature and this seems to be a common thing game developers have been doing and I have seen a lot of developers doing it. The issue is that whenever I close the game, iOS deletes EVERYTHING it has downloaded, which means that whenever I want to play the game I have to download about 1.5 gb. Everytime. I have 8gb of free space, I tried to disable offload apps, tried to offload and then reinstall it, I looked for on the internet other people having this same problem and I got no clue on how to make my iPad stop deleting this game data. Other games from its same dev I have no problems on keeping the data, just this game. Anything that may help me will be welcome. [link] [comments]

can’t restore backup from itunes Posted: 01 Jun 2018 04:27 AM PDT i recently installed 11.3.1 from my computer and in doing so, erased everything off my phone. i knew it would happen so i made a backup from my computer figuring once it turned on it'd be an easy process getting all my stuff back. every time I attempted to restore an error would occur saying "there was a problem reading or writing" does anyone know how to fix this? is there a app which tracks battery usage of apps (detailed)? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 12:29 AM PDT i wonder why my charged iphone 8 drops down from 95% to 60% in the night (from about 22pm to 6am) if its just in dnd mode and nothing, expect for a few whatsapp messages, happens. I am experiencing this problem since some weeks now and after uninstalling some apps it isnt improved yet. i know there is the "battery" option from ios itself but i does not help me in this case. is there a app which tracks battery usage of apps on a detailed level not find the problem? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 02:30 AM PDT Does anyone have links to a teardown that shows the TDP of Apple's SOC's? If I had to guess I'd imagine the "normal" A series for phones is sub-5 watts max TDP, and the AXX hits up to 15W TDP. I can't find this anywhere. [link] [comments]
11.4 vs 10.3.3 on iPhone 6s: upgrade or stay behind? Posted: 31 May 2018 06:46 PM PDT Hey guys I have an iPhone 6s that is about a year old now and I haven't upgraded to iOS 11 yet because of the number of bugs and issues that threatened to brick older iPhones. Is it worth it to go from 10.3.3 to 11.4? I made a similar post on r/ios11 but posted it when 11.3.1 was the latest iOS. [link] [comments]

Questions about apps when minimized... Posted: 31 May 2018 03:44 PM PDT I am a long-term android user, and I recently switched to the iPhone roughly 6 months ago. I have fallen in love with my new phone and it's operating system. A simple question I have is, when I press the home button in minimize the app I'm currently using, it never goes back to where I was. When I used Facebook or Instagram or BaconReader on my android if I minimize one of those apps and go back to it it would put me where I was but on iOS everything seems like it was close and it is re-opening for the first time. For example I am halfway down on my newsfeed on Facebook and switch to a different app and then when I go back to Facebook it goes all way back to the top and refreshes and I lost my place. On my android it never did that [link] [comments]

Do I have to enable iMessages in cloud on Apple Watch? Posted: 31 May 2018 06:30 PM PDT So I turned on iMessages in the cloud on my iPhone, but my messages on my Apple Watch still don't sync correctly. Do I have to turn in on my Apple Watch somehow, or is this a big? [link] [comments] |
