How to reset launchpad in High Sierra? Posted: 02 May 2018 02:49 PM PDT So I"ve been installing lots of new apps on my mac running High Sierra. My launchpad is not sorted by alphabet anymore. Is there any terminal command that'll resort all the app icons in launchpad? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 May 2018 10:23 AM PDT I have always wanted to learn Linux. To do so, I want to setup my MacBook Air to dual boot both macOS and Ubuntu. Most of the instructions I have found seem old or out-of-date. Can anyone provide me with the steps or point me to a webpage with foolproof instructions? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2018 08:35 AM PDT Recently one of my MBPs has started randomly requiring a PIN instead of a password to unlock the screen. Unfortunately, I don't know the PIN and can't find a way to switch it back to password. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to prevent it from asking for a PIN and force it to always ask for a password? [link] [comments]
What is the best way to access launchpad when using a Magic Mouse and older Mac keyboard? Posted: 02 May 2018 03:16 PM PDT I currently use my MacBook Air plugged into an external display, with a Magic Mouse 1 and the wired numpad keyboard that was included in the 2009ish iMac. Unfortunately this lacks the shortcut for launchpad on F4, so I am forced to reach over to my laptop to do the pinch gesture on the trackpad if I want to launch an app. There has gotta be some way to enable this shortcut right? Posted: 01 May 2018 08:27 PM PDT I have this iMac from 2009 and I installed an update but it failed and now when starting up the system, the apple logo with the loading bar will appear and will load for a bit. However, a message will then appear saying "Your computer restarted because of a problem..." and the computer will just restart and do everything again. I tried booting into safe mode, but that doesn't work. I also want to reinstall the OS but from the videos I've seen, everyone starts the installation process from their desktop. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
