Posted: 26 May 2018 05:54 PM PDT I'm curious if aftermarket charger cords work for the newer MacBooks that use usb-c to lightning cables? Obviously I'd be using the factory wall adapter, but I'm in need of a longer cord and just kinda wondering if anyone has used a long aftermarket usb-c to lightning cable from Amazon or something to charge their MacBook Pro? Noise Question - Early 2016 MacBook 12" Posted: 26 May 2018 09:09 PM PDT I have the 12" MacBook, and when I shake it, it was a rattling noise, like something is shifting inside. I took it to Apple because it is still under AppleCare and the guy there said the noise was the fan moving around. That can't be right...any ideas? What should I do? (my wife says don't shake it....) Should I Return My 2017 MacBook Pro Before I Open It? Posted: 26 May 2018 04:56 PM PDT Hello, After spilling a glass of Chardonnay on my 2010 MacBook Pro, I immediately bought a refurbished 2017 MacBook Pro with no touch bar or AppleCare in a fit of panic (I can not go to work without a laptop). Following the purchase, I've read some pretty unfortunate reviews about the butterfly keyboard. If I immediately place a keyboard cover on the laptop, do you think I'll be immune from dust and crumbs? Or should I just return the machine in favor of a refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro instead? Does your 2017 13in Macbook Pro (nTB) throttle too? Posted: 26 May 2018 07:27 PM PDT I have the 2017 13in Macbook Pro non-touchbar clocked at 2.3gHZ. Been running YES-test benchmarks after my repaste and noticed that I am getting minor throttling on Intel Power Gadget. I am getting a constant 3.5gHZ instead of the 3.6gHZ I paid for. Is this happening for you too? Intel Power Gadget: https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-power-gadget-20 To run a YES test: [link] [comments] |
Macbook Pro Battery 0% and wrong date Posted: 26 May 2018 04:23 PM PDT Model: MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015 While I was working, I didn't realise that the battery was low and as a result, my MacBook Pro shut down when the battery had no power. So, then I plugged in the charger and powered it on. This time I noticed something was strange. The battery was stuck in 0% for like around 10 minutes and the date got reset to 1st January 2017. I tried resetting PRAM. Nothing happened. So, then I ran diagnostics and I got this as a result. Here's the battery information and here's a screenshot from Battery Health. Now it is pretty obvious that you might ask me to change the battery because the screenshots say so, but I want a final opinion from you guys what to do next. Everything was working fine and all of a sudden this happens. I feel if I plugged the charger in time, I wouldn't have to see all this. And also a new battery isn't exactly affordable for me at the moment. And it is also important to note that while the charger is on, it shows orange LED. So, what should I do? [link] [comments] |
MacBook Whirring/Buzzing noise when woken up Posted: 26 May 2018 02:46 AM PDT Just recently I have noticed a faint whirring noise coming from the middle of the right side of the laptop when I turn it on or wake it up, and I do not know what it is. I have a MacBook Pro Early 2013 that I just bought that was refurbished. Any clues as to what it might be, and would apple be able to fix this if I took it to their store? Any help, Thanks.
