| iPhone X has water damage and I've never submerged it underwater Posted: 01 Apr 2018 12:25 AM PDT I took a bath with the phone setting up on the sink about 5 feet away. It got really steamy in there, so I'm assuming that's the culprit. The phone worked for over 24 hours after the bath and I didn't notice any signs of water damage, until I was playing PUBG Mobile, plugged the phone in because the battery hit 20% and it shut off after about 30 seconds of being plugged in. Wouldn't turn back on since. After looking closely, there was condensation on the back camera lens. I opened up the SIM tray and took a flashlight to the water damage indicator and it was triggered as well. I've been extremely careful with this phone, so I am just stunned at how easy the water resistant seals failed. Has anyone had any luck setting an Apple appointment at the Genius Bar and got their 'water damaged' iPhone replaced? I just found out tonight how much the iPhone X would cost to replace. | iPhone 6+ running out really fast Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:39 AM PDT It only started happening around 4 days ago. Before then, the battery was fine. Full charge lasted a little more than a day if I used it sparingly. But now even when I don't do anything, the battery drops over short periods of time. After I take it off charge (100%), it will usually fall down to 98%. Today I put it in my bag at 86%, and after 2 hours of not being in use, the battery dropped to 35%. Will I just need to bring it to Apple for them to fix it? Also what will the general price be? Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||

| Help with unexpected iPhone shutdown Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:40 AM PDT So the iPhone 6s battery life has never been great. But: My phone is now about a year old. In the battery health settings it says I still have 86% capacity. Today my phone unexpectedly shut off at 60%. I booted it back up and it said only 10% battery left! What?? It then shut off again and when I tried booting up it gave me the error message that says you have to charge your phone because it's empty. Since I wasn't home I just left it for about 30 minutes. When I finally got myself a charger I tried turning it on before plugging it in and it booted up and said 14%. What the hell is going on.. I'm on the newest version of iOS 11. Maybe that is causing these issues? I've been experiencing sudden horrible battery drains for the last 2 days but nothing like this! Normally I get a day or longer of usage but a few times this week I'd be somewhere around 50% and the phone would just die while idle. I went to the movies with about 50-60% battery left. Had my phone in my pocket the whole time. At the end of the movie I pulled my phone out of my pocket it was really warm and the battery was dead. Similar incidents have happened twice now.
