With things like ProMotion and the Smart Connecter not on the 2018 9.7 model, is it a worthy investment ? I have been using PDF Viewer by PSPDFKit the past week, and it does everything I need. My only problem is that sometimes it will zoom or pan when I start writing with my pencil -- this is mainly when my palm first touches the screen. | Posted: 01 Apr 2018 01:00 PM PDT I'm beginning to use my iPad more and more and I'm thinking it may be time to finally upgrade this aging iPad Air. I have a MacBook Pro and 27 iMac, but I love using my iPad for reddit, basic surfing, and Swift Playgrounds (which doesn't run so great on here tbh). I'm also grandfathered into an incredible cellular plan I'd be dumb to give up. The only other use case I may add is using it to VNC into a raspberry pi. So I'm thinking of the following. If I just get the classic iPad 2018 I can save on accessories, get a student discount, and arguably get more bang for my buck at $559. I already have a Logitech keyboard case and Smart Cover. Maybe I could get a pencil down the line. The iPad 2017 refurbished 128GB + LTE is $409, but I feel like the speed increase in the 2018 will be worth it and I'll get an extra years use out of it even though it's $150 more. The refurb iPad Pro 10.5 64GB with cellular may be a bit more of a money pit though. It's ~$669 AND it's half the storage and I'd have to buy accessories all over again. While I've heard the extra RAM is great, I'm pretty sure the price when all is said and done will be rough. What do you all think? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Little in Options for Fully Adjustable Cover Stand? Posted: 01 Apr 2018 10:57 AM PDT Found the ZUGU CASE - 2018 / 2017 iPad for $50. But still doesn't seem to be many choices for a full articulating adjustable Stand/Cover. Hate Microsoft all you want but their Surface Pro tablet design is brilliant. And surprised of the little in the way of emulating that design. As never been an iPad user until recently with the new 2018 & Pencil. And the surface tablet design seems hugely helpful for on the go use. All the iPad ones seem to have flaky unstable one or two positions covers that are little help to fully adjustable for covering all the bases on mobility use. Do I have unrealistic expectations? Do iPad users even want something along these lines? Is there others like Zugu giving me more options? | Apple Pencil connects then immediately disconnects Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:37 PM PDT I plug it it and it shows the Bluetooth connect request, then after 3-4 seconds the Bluetooth request disappears and nothing happens. If I do this while under Bluetooth in settings, it shows the Apple Pencil connect and shows it under "my devices". With the new iPad update, $300 doesn't seem too bad but as I've looked around, I see iPad Pros released in 2016 for the same price. I like the pros because of the better screen but not sure if the A9X vs A10X will be a significant factor down the line.
