Posted: 09 Apr 2018 10:17 PM PDT Hi everyone, I have a MacBook pro 2017 15 inch and I recently noticed that my MacBook's keyboard is leaving permanent key impressions on the screen. I always keep my MacBook clean and its only 2 months old. Is it a known issue that apple will fix or shall I get a screen guard or something? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Does anyone here think a new Macbook Pro WON'T launch at WWDC this year? Posted: 09 Apr 2018 08:57 AM PDT I see people saying to wait til June across the board and I'm surprised. I see the rationale behind the theories but the overwhelming level of confidence surprises me. I have no issue waiting and plan to regardless but I'm just curious if anyone thinks a new Macbook Pro is not going to be unveiled. [link] [comments] |
MBPtb replacement timing question Posted: 09 Apr 2018 07:22 PM PDT Bought my MBP in December of 2016. Have AppleCare. I already took in once because a few keys stopped working. Now a few other keys are in trouble, the keyboard backlight died, and there's a spot on the right bottom of the screen. I am trying to figure out when to take it to the Genius Bar. No matte what, the laptop will be sent out? There's no chance a replacement happens there? Trying to time it around some trips. [link] [comments] |
Macbook pro 2017 doesnt turn on Posted: 09 Apr 2018 06:28 AM PDT This is the second time this happened. Its just not reacting. Last time it turned on by itself after a while and 4 days later its happening again. Its just not turning on anymore. Edit: it turned on again after trying it for 10 times. It wasnt showing the apple logo but just went straight to the screen where I type my password. [link] [comments] |

Is it worth it to replace parts on a 2012 MacBook Pro or to get a more recent model? Posted: 09 Apr 2018 11:24 AM PDT I love my old laptop, but it's nearing the end of its days. I could switch the hard drive to a ssd and maybe get a new battery. But I was wondering how long this would increase its lifespan. Has anyone done this before? [link] [comments] |
Does the 2016 Macbook have the 2nd Gen Butterfly Keyboard? Posted: 09 Apr 2018 08:49 AM PDT I have an Early 2016 Macbook, and I can't tell if my keyboard is the V1 or V2, I am having a lot of difficulty typing on it at a faster rate, but it doesn't feel like the keyboard is completely flat. Google Chrome opening at system start. HELP! Posted: 09 Apr 2018 01:40 AM PDT I recently got my Macbook Pro (2015) reset at the Apple store to fix an issue, but something small but annoying has popped up. Every time I turn on my laptop, Google Chrome seems to already be running. If I click to open a new tab, it has one open already, so it opens two of them. I googled and tried multiple things to make sure there are no applications running in the background at launch but I am having no luck with any of the solutions I've looked up. Anyone have any ideas they'd like to throw out there? It's really annoying now. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Trackpad and Keyboard Not Working Posted: 09 Apr 2018 01:13 AM PDT Hi everyone, I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina A1502 Early 2015 model. Recently, I had to replace the battery in my Macbook because it would not power on unless plugged into the AC adapter. After I replaced the battery, myself, both the built-in keyboard and trackpad stopped working. I've tried removing the replacement battery, replacing the trackpad flex cable, booting into safemode, basically all of the suggestions that one finds when googling the issue. An external USB keyboard and mouse work just fine. Interestingly enough, the green caps lock indicator is always green and when I use the built-in keyboard to perform an SMC reset, it works, the backlight on the keyboard also still works along with the power button, but nothing else on the keyboard works. The trackpad has no functionality. From what I understand about this model, the keyboard and trackpad rely on one another, meaning that if the trackpad has gone bad the keyboard will cease to function. My theory is that I somehow damaged the trackpad while removing the adhesive for the battery while replacing it. Do you all think that purchasing a replacement trackpad and installing it would fix BOTH the trackpad and the keyboard issues? Has anyone else had any sort of experience similar to this? My Macbook is out of warranty and I don't have the money to pay Apple to fix it, so please don't suggest that. [link] [comments] |
