Weekly Support Question Megathread (Monday, March 26, 2018) Posted: 25 Mar 2018 11:51 PM PDT Weekly Support ThreadHello! Welcome to this weeks Weekly Support Thread This thread is to help answer all of your simple questions, and keep /r/AppleWatch's front page clean! Got a simple question? Get a simple answer. It's as simple as that. The thread's been set to sort posts randomly to push all sorts of questions to the top. Before you ask, please make sure you've checked out our wiki's troubleshooting guide, searched it on Google, or used our subreddit search feature (wow, who knew that was a thing)! If you can't find an answer, you want some further insight, or you're just lazy, feel free to post your question here. What can I ask?If you've been asked to post your question here, then go ahead! Otherwise, if your question is one or two sentences long, and is pretty simple (such as asking for recommendations, apps, troubleshooting, app issues, etc), go ahead. If you need a lot more investigation, or you're asking for many opinions, go ahead and post it elsewhere (it may be removed if it's too simple, or it's deemed to be more suitable for here). Why can’t we custom order an Apple Watch? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 01:57 AM PDT If we want watch style (insert material, size, and color) and band choice (inster matierial, size, and color), more often then not, we have to spend more money in order to get that specific combination and wind up wasting more due to buying at least two wrist bands. It seems like a huge waste of resources and not very eco friendly. For example, if I want a stainless steel Apple Watch with a leather wrist band, I have to buy at least two bands. This makes absolutely no sense to me. What do you all think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 07:35 AM PDT So I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but my buddy had his Speedway Rewards Card on his Apple Watch and I thought, "great idea!" I promptly downloaded the Speedway app, added the card to my Wallet.app, and checked my watch. Wasn't there. Looked to see how he did it and it appears he did the same and his synced right up, so I figured I'd wait. Three days later, multiple reboots, and it's still only on my phone. Is there another setting I missed, or a step, or is mine just glitched? :( [link] [comments]
Theater Mode bonus feature: night shift flashlight! Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:45 PM PDT When the Series 2 released, it had the brightest display Apple had shipped on any product. I hardly ever use my phone flashlight anymore, & love the AW flashlight. After leaving a movie & having my watch in Theater Mode, I turned on the flashlight and... it defaults to the red instead of the white! Thought this was a nice touch given the context you'd have it on. [link] [comments]

Garmin Training Status or Stress Score Equivalent Posted: 26 Mar 2018 06:38 AM PDT Seeing as my AW3 has all the data needed to do this... are there any apps that can use the Health data to track these metrics? When I was training hard in the last I would use the recovery status quite a bit. I'd rather just use my Apple Watch to train, however, at this point. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Mar 2018 05:53 AM PDT Hi, looking for a sleep tracker recommendation? I've tried Sleep++ but the Auto function never worked! Also I have the HeartWatch app installed and noticed it has a sleep feature but also a paid for standalone sleep tracking app! tia for any suggestions/ideas [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Mar 2018 08:43 AM PDT I took part in a study on vascular stiffness. Since I was going to be hooked to a bunch of lab-grade instrumentation, I decided to see how the watch stacked up. This is not, by any means scientific or definitive, but I was suprised to see how damned accurate the watch was. Watch Hr vs. chest strap - spot on. (This was on a stationary bike, where you're not subjected to bouncing, such as you might be when running). Calories - again this was on a stationary bike, so I don't know how true it holds for other activities, but the calories on the watch, in the "Stationary Bike" activity were exactly the same as the calories on the power meter. Shocking. Any other calorie counter (like the one on my dreadmill) have always been fairly optimistic. VO2 Max - I think Apple uses the Cooper test to determine this, so how that correlates to stationary cycling, I don't know, but the 46.2 that the watch gave me was only a few points higher than the "offical" reading. All-in-all, I am very impressed. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Mar 2018 08:45 PM PDT Anyone have any cool docks I should buy to charge my iPhone and watch? Right now I'm just using the cords and it works but I'd rather have a dock. [link] [comments]

A little help deciding/making a decison.. Posted: 25 Mar 2018 10:04 PM PDT I've never had an apple watch but have heard a lot about them..I've heard that they're good at tracking steps..letting you text message people...things like that. What can I expect from getting an Apple Watch? I've had friends tell me that you can basically do everything with your phone that you can with an Apple Watch. Lately I've taken my health more seriously..as far as exercising..watching what I eat etc. I had someone at the gym suggest that I buy an apple watch..when I ask why he simply said that it keeps up with exercises and calories burned..I ask him if the calorie counter was accurate and he said he assumed so. Is it accurate..or at least somewhat accurate? Also at the gym I do cardio..mostly running...and weights...at home i do a stationary bike...would the apple watch be able to keep up with the exercises that I do and be able to help me determine how many calories that I've burned? Also is there a major difference between the Apple Watch series 1 and the newest Apple Watch? Thanks for any help! [link] [comments] |
