I wish Apple would update the Reminders App Posted: 25 Mar 2018 01:54 PM PDT It feels out of date and clunky. I do use other todo apps but they don't get the same level of treatment like Apple does for its own apps. For example, Apple Reminders updates instantly across all devices while the 3rd parties can't because Apple doesn't give that level to developers. It would be nice if Reminders had the option of all-day events. Easier to input times instead of pressing many buttons to set a time. A checklist inside a reminder. Tags would be nice. Smart search filtering or filtering to begin with. Be able to press next day or next week if you can't get a task done that day. Better natural language so I can say " do x 23 days from now". Does anyone here use Apple Reminders as there only todo app? [link] [comments] |
Apple has a real opportunity to break into the gaming market Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:45 PM PDT Imagine if the Apple TV was updated every year like the iPhone and iPad to include the latest processor. Last year it was given the same A10X as the iPad Pro making it a decent gaming machine for TVs. With the advent of AAA titles like Fortnite, Apple has the chance to break into the gaming market if they continue the trend of putting the top end A series processor in the Apple TV. Imagine if this year they included the A11X, and possibly a Pro Version with dual A11X processors. Could Fortnite and other games possibly run at 1080p or 4K at 60fps? Adding in support for PS4 and Xbox One controllers via bluetooth would increase access to millions of potential users. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Mar 2018 04:01 PM PDT I tried to pay with Apple Pay at Dillards just now and they told me they stopped accepting Apple Pay because of too many fraudulent transactions. What are they talking about I've heard of anything fraudulent transactions. [link] [comments] |

[Discussion] Best iPhone to date? (In your opinion?) Posted: 25 Mar 2018 07:41 PM PDT To begin, please no rude comments to others opinions. I am just interested to see everyone's thoughts, and how their own preferences influence that. In my opinion, the iPhone 5 is the best iPhone created. A little back story; When it first came out in 2012, I was in my Sophomore year of high school. I remember walking the halls and seeing it in person when a teacher (who I presumed pre-ordered it) had their iPhone 5 out, and was blown away. I personally fell the design even today is elegant, and classy. I personally like the screen size. Yes, I am typing this on my iPhone X, and my first iPhone was in my senior year. It was an iPhone 6, and I thought that was the perfect size too. I thought about it more and more, and I never got to truly experience the iPhone 5 and 5s (5c and now SE) screen sizes. It truly it a one handed device, which I love. The 5 was slim, and ran great. Even on its last iOS version (iOS 10), it ran better than most phones do at their end of life. (Looking at you Apple, for what you did to the 4s.) Sure, it isn't the fastest on iOS 10, but it surely is still useable. So to wrap up, with the design and size I love, I feel the iPhone 5 was the best. It was the only phone to blow me away when seeing it. If they made an iPhone SE 2 with a second gen Touch ID, iPhone 8 front and back camera, and an a11 chip, I'd ditch my iPhone X for it. What are your thoughts? What was your favorite iPhone version and why? Let's discuss! (Respectfully!) Edit: iPhones I have owned for personal daily use; iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and iPhone X iPhones in my collection (I collect for a hobby); iPhone 3GS, 4, 4s, 5, and 5S My favorite iPhone I owned and used daily was the iPhone 7. It was my favorite screen size that was still very useable for one handed use. I feel the 7 got the design right, as I don't favor the glass back of the 8/X. I don't use wireless charging in my life that much. It was what the 6s should have been, the same but with a better design, better low light camera, and water resistance. Verdict; Overall favorite; iPhone 5. Favorite iPhone I had the pleasure of owning; iPhone 7 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Mar 2018 09:16 AM PDT Has anybody seen in control center, iOS references the presence of Apple Pencil on iPhones ? It's kinda weird because I would understand if the same message was on a iPad but it references Apple watches too which I think the iPad doesn't mention in the same pop up. [link] [comments] |
Parallax effect in TV app on AppleTV Posted: 25 Mar 2018 08:20 PM PDT Just noticed this today, but it seems like the movie covers on Apple TV have a parallax effect on them. I'm not sure if it's all of them or if it's always been this way, but it is definitely noticeable. It was a nice touch. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Mar 2018 11:50 PM PDT Apps on my iPhone X constantly lock up and crash. Some apps ( Audible and Tinder especially ) seem more susceptible to this than others but I usually get at least 1 - 2 of these freezing/crash issues per day and it's driving me nuts. At first I just chalked this up to iOS 11 issues but I feel like it's so bad that I might have a defective phone. Anyone else experiencing issues like this? Should I try to swap my phone for a replacement? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Time has settled... are you happy with the HomePod? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 05:43 PM PDT I'm not. It was super cool at first, but given some time it's limitations are really standing out. I thought not being an "all in one home theater" wouldn't bother me, but over time I am more and more bothered that I can really only use this for Apple Music. For instance, I bought a Peloton. I wanted to have a true "spin" experience in my home, but the lack of bluetooth connectivity means I can only listed to the classes through the tablet or headphones. Since getting it as well it's made it more noticeable that you can't connect things like game systems to it. The sound from the Apple TV isn't as loud, for sure, but still sounds are noticeably less flat when streaming through the HomePod rather than the TV Speakers. If I could turn back time, I would probably go with a Sonos for a better home theater experience. The HomePod isn't cutting it and I'm starting to regret my purchases (I bought two). Furthermore, Siri seems to have gotten substantially worse over time. I was so impressed with it's voice recognition in the beginning. I could be in my bedroom and speaking at normal voice the living room HomePod was so surprisingly able to hear me while speaking at normal volume. Today I almost have to scream into it to get it to recognize what I'm asking it to do. How are you feeling about your HomePod purchase? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:30 PM PDT Was driving home from a trip with some friends. We had two cars in our group and after our last rest stop we stopped following each other. One car used apple maps, the car I was in used google maps. We got home 45 minutes faster because google suggested alternative routes on i35 in texas, a road that is truly terrible and managed very poorly like most of texas highways. Seriously texas yall do a lot of things well but roadwork sucks. [link] [comments] |
Does anyone think there will be a huge MacBook Pro update this year? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:41 PM PDT I really need to get a MacBook soon. I have an old Lenovo that isn't cutting it anymore, and I need pages for easy compatibility with my iMac, plus airdropping and such. Anyways a huge part of me wants to purchase a MacBook Pro 15", but another part is worried they will drop a new one with a Coffee Lake processor in June. There doesn't seem to be any rumors out for that right now. I don't think they will launch a new one on the 27th, but will hold out just in case. Thoughts? Is Coffee Lake worth holding out for? I'm curious if anyone thinks they will upgrade the 15" to a six or eight core. Does anyone have experience working with a Coffee Lake processor over a Kaby Lake? This is the model I'm currently considering. I don't want to spend that much money to regret it two and a half months later. I know two months doesn't seem like a long time, but I really need is ASAP. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Mar 2018 08:49 PM PDT Since I live in the U.S. I've been using Apple News more. The client is nice, it's personalized yet private, and Apple has been good about responding to feedback in the developer bug/feedback system about the News app. What do you all think about this issue generally? Edit: typo. [link] [comments] |

How are you iPhone X screens holding up so far? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 03:04 AM PDT I just picked up a new iPhone X and I have this annoying habit of keeping the brightness as low as possible as I don't want burn in. For those who's had the phone for quite a while now, do you experience any burn in, and what brightness do you use? [link] [comments] |
Got me a phone upgrade, have a few questions for you guys! Posted: 25 Mar 2018 05:56 PM PDT So I got a call from ATT saying I'm available to upgrade my device. ATT has the 8 and the X, and I'm interested in either one. From your guys' point of view, which is the better phone? I heard they were discontinuing the X from a friend, so that's a small cause of concern, and I know Apple releases their new devices in the fall so I'm wondering if I should just wait until then to get the new device then. Kind of in an analysis paralysis moment here, so, going to you guys. Which phone do you guys like better? [link] [comments] |
Suggestion: HomePod should integrate as part of homekit scenes Posted: 25 Mar 2018 05:39 AM PDT E.g. Select a certain playlist to play when a scene is set or play randomly from a library. Would be awesome to be able to set a "pre drink" scene so my Nanoleaf goes in to rhythm mode and pre drink playlist starts playing. [link] [comments] |
does buying a new original charger add value? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 04:53 PM PDT had an macbook air in for repair, a nice 2017 13 inch 256gb ssd 8gb ram 1.8ghz i5. he asked me to sell it for him on sort of an consignment deal, i did some research of which i based i can promise him 375 euro's safely+my labour and everything above that we'll split 50/50 first of all what would you guys say said mac is worth? (excellent condition) and second of all, i have a cheap knock off charger with it, is spending the 80-60 euro's on a real one worth it as in it will raise resale value or should i let the new owner worry about that one? Cable not certified using official Apple lightning cable + wall adapter? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 10:56 AM PDT I cannot get my iPad mini charged via a wall socket because with every cable and wall adapter that I've used I get the not certified message that won't allow it to charge, even with official apple accessories and apple certified ones. I can charge it if I plug it into my laptop but its painfully slow. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? [link] [comments] |
