FAT32 and High Sierra workaround for copying files larger than 2GB Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:59 PM PST tldr; You can copy files >2GB through the Terminal
Hey Guys! I ran into this issue that appears to have come around since High Sierra released. Looks like it has been a problem for several months, but I just first ran into myself yesterday. I know exFAT has been around for a long time, and ideally that should be the the preferred format of choice for any external media. However, if you're like me, you have a large drive that was formatted in FAT32 stupidly many years ago, and don't want to go through the hassle of finding a place for TB+ of data while reformatting the existing drive. I figured this was a GUI issue, so I wanted to see if I could still use Unix commands, and lo and behold the files copied over perfectly. You can access all the connected drives from It's an annoying workaround, but it will get the job done. Hope that helps! [link] [comments]
[HELP] Install Windows XP/7 with an USB instead of a DVD (Bootcamp) Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:51 PM PST Good evening, I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) on High Sierra 10.13.3 I'd like to install Windows XP or 7 with bootcamp with a USB. Unfortunately I can't because my Mac asks for a DVD installation disk of Windows. I already read some guides online that suggest you to change the config.plist, but I can't find the strings that they say. Maybe it's because I'm on High Sierra. I really don't know. Could someone tell me the quickest way to install Windows XP/7 with a USB and Bootcamp? Thank you so much in advance [link] [comments]
the forbidden character makes all Mac apps crash if it's in the title. Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:44 PM PST So I guess by now must of people know about the character which makes iOS crash, on my Mac (high Sierra) as long as I'm looking at it through the web browser content it's fine but as soon as it gets to the title of any window (ie chrome) the program crashes in less than a second. too scared to try it with iMessage app on Mac.
