Photo (import) workflow (from iPhone) on macOS? Posted: 01 Feb 2018 01:31 AM PST Hey everyone, I'm wondering what your workflow for importing photos onto your Mac from your iPhone is? I was a Windows user when I got my first iPhone, I loved how it was possible to simply access the folder like a thumb drive and copy & paste everything over. Back then I just used folders to organize my photos. E.g. Year > Month > Date > SomeName. While I still do this under macOS, just importing the photos from my connected iPhone with the Digital Pictures App and sotring them into folders, I would like to know if there is a simpler or more comfortable way to have the (latest, not already transferred) photos automatically transferd once I connect my iPhone and/or when my iPhone is in Wi-Fi with my MacBook? I have a subscription to iCloud for storage that wouldn't be a problem. What I fear when I see all those photo managing apps around is that the photos aren't transferred 1:1. I don't care for size. I want that a picture I take with maximum quality on my iPhone is transferred 1:1 onto my Mac nothing else, no compression, no meta data removal or anything else. I would love to hear your storys or advices and maybe I find a better way to do it. [link] [comments]
Fix for broken mouse driver after update 10.12.4 Posted: 01 Feb 2018 12:34 AM PST Hi, my DXT2 wireless ergonomic mouse stopped working after updating to OSX 10.12.4. The cursor would move, but no buttons worked. Yesterday I stumbled across the third party driver usboverdrive that solved the problem. I am posting this here because there are numerable threads on this subject on Apple support community and still a lot of people with non-working peripherals. For some reason the thread I posted in over at Apple support was closed, do they have a policy against third party drivers or did I trip some automatic filter when posting a link? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 02:50 PM PST I am having a hard time installing High Sierra from 10.12.6 Sierra. I have a MacBook Pro 2013. I get to the installer page press continue and I get a message "The recovery server could not be contacted." after about 3 minutes. I have downloaded 10.13.3 from the apple resource on apple.com but it says you have to have 10.13.1 to upgrade. Please help. I tried something with the terminal I found online but that did not help [link] [comments]
Pinch to zoom randomly stops working Posted: 31 Jan 2018 02:31 PM PST Hi all, I have a 2014 13" MBA running High Sierra. The laptop is connected to an external monitor, as well as a Magic Trackpad 2 and magic keyboard. At random times during the day, pinch to zoom just completely stops, as well as certain gestures, such as the two finger swipe to go Back in safari. If I disconnect the laptop from the the monitor and open it, I can't even use pinch to zoom on the built-in trackpad. I just did a clean install of High Sierra, and it's still happening. I'm not sure what else to do. This started happening on Sierra. The only way to fix it is to go to preferences then turn off Zoom in or out then turn it back on. I haven't been able track down when/why it starts happening. I do not have any third-party apps running that I think would affect it Does this happen to anyone else? Any thoughts? Volume limit on macOS similar to iOS? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 01:01 PM PST I would like to limit the volume for the jack connection just like one can do it on iOS. For my ears sake while wearing headphones, I usually set the volume up to 2-4 bars. I've found volimiter, however, it also limits the sound when my mac is on speakers, but I'd like it to be specific to the jack output only. [link] [comments]
Update to High Sierra on case-sensitive partition? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:29 PM PST My Mac has been booting from a case-sensitive partition for years now. Will HS convert gracefully to APFS keeping my choice intact? [link] [comments]
Green flickering when watching movies Posted: 31 Jan 2018 04:29 PM PST Hi, I downloaded high sierra a few hours ago, and was gonna sit down and watch a film in iTunes, but when the film started playing it was just a green flickering screen. I tried watching a different movie, but the same thing happened there. I then tried to watch a film on netflix but I had the same problem there. Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix it? Really frustrating considering I bought this mac in November, so its not even 3 months old. [link] [comments] |
