Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:09 PM PST Almost every time I try to set a reminder, Siri sets it before I can get to the day and time to be reminded. I end up having to scream at my phone and set multiple reminders to get it correct or I have to do it manually (which defeats the purpose). Just curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. Please explain me how an app like Get Contact is allowed on App Store? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 03:50 PM PST So basically what this app does, after you registering it gets all your contacts and put it under its database under the name contacts were written in your phone. So after it anyone who somehow got your number can get your name(maybe other minor information not sure) about you without your permission, without you even knowing about it. Pretty disappointed in it, because in my opinion this app dont go well with integrity of App Store and Apple itself on respecting user's privacy. [link] [comments] |
Apple should indicate on each photo in your library if it's been uploaded to the cloud or not. Posted: 06 Feb 2018 12:00 AM PST It should also allow you to Select > Pick Picture > Add To > iCloud Backups. The iCloud backups option would be segregated from the albums. that way you could force-upload, or force to the top certain pics or videos. would that not be a really good idea? "this picture is ultra important to me, has not been backed up yet, so I can just make it happen right now- or as soon as my phone's back online" you could even add a third indicator for pics that are in the process of being uploaded. For those that switched from Gmail to iCloud, how did you do it? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 11:07 AM PST I'm really want to use iCloud as my main email, but there are a few things I wonder and worry about.
I was thinking about setting up an auto-forward from Gmail to iCloud but not sure if that would work or if it's really solving my issue of getting away from gmail. I like to have multiple email addresses for different things (personal, logins, junk/throwaway sites) and am aware I can use aliases in iCloud but don't want to send all my stuff to one email inbox (with the aliases) Has anyone made the switch? Any tips on setting up email? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:32 AM PST So you guys expect HomePod review to be available anytime before the launch (with pictures and video)? I was hoping that Apple would allow them to be released today. But I'm not so sure anymore. [link] [comments] |

Any word on HomePod's integration with Apple TV for control purposes? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:00 AM PST Hi, all. I've read a few posts and articles scattered around regarding the ability to stream content from the Apple TV to the HomePod, but I haven't seen anybody questioning whether or not the Apple TV can be controlled with the HomePod? So, any Siri command that can currently be given to the Apple TV via its remote (E.G. "Show me movies in 4K") - Will it be possible to do so via HomePod and "Hey, Siri"? I've read that Apple TV is now (or will be soon) a HomeKit accessory. Does this at least suggest that this will be possible? Any facts or opinions would be appreciated! Thanks, guys. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 10:21 PM PST Right now if you go to app store and search for some app - let's say Instagram - you will see reviews which are from 5 years ago, completely random order, old version etc. No way to filter them. No way to know how many 1 star or 4 star reviews. No way to see what device the negative reviews about bugs are from. No way to only read negative critical reviews. Plus lots of spam reviews too as any one can create a username instead of it being linked to your google account on Android. Android even summarizes reviews to show how many people have used mentioned type of reviews. When you rate an app on android, it actually asks you meaningful questions - does the app have dark mode, does the app let you share with friends etc. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2018 04:27 AM PST Makes me sad. Would love to know what I could find on the iPod. UPDATE: I tried pretty much everything I could. Was hoping I could atleast undo the 21 million minute lock (yeah, 21 million not 2) by logging into the same iTunes account I used when I got the iPod. All iTunes does is say I need to unlock it first. Don't think there is a chance to unlock it or get the pictures unless you're hackerman himself. rip memories :( Thanks for trying to help. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST I always read about logic boards going bad just outside of warranty, or someone bought AppleCare and was thankful because they got their Mac fixed or replaced, sometimes within like two years of buying one. I've had my iMac for 6 years now. No issues from it, knock on wood. I'm starting to look into a new one, but don't particularly need a new one. Just would be nice to sell my current one while it's still worth a couple hundred bucks that could go towards likely a refurbished 21.5 iMac straight from Apple. Then a part of me just says keep it until it just stops working. Obviously they can go obsolete, or suffer damage from a power surge. It just seems like I hear a lot about defective logic boards and it seems that they just might be made poorly sometimes, but the ones that are fine, last. Does that make sense? [link] [comments] |
OneNote for iPad says it is using my location, but I never gave it permission. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 03:33 PM PST So OneNote popped up in my doc today with the little recent location symbol on it. I though, why does this need my locaition? And went to turn it off for the app. When I went into the location settings, OneNote was not listed as an app that can use my location. I cannot figure out why it would be using my location, or even needing it. It kinda freaked my out a little bit. Any suggestions? iPad Air 2 - iOS 11.3 beta 5 or whatever the latest one is. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 08:55 PM PST I don't want to be one of these people, but I need help finding a better way. I went on a trip recently, and I took several hundred photos while on my trip. No problem, I've got the whole thing organized into an album in iCloud. Except I can't download those photos as a batch. I can download them one at a time, or Ctrl-Click and get more than one, but there isn't a way to download an album. What the hell kind of sense does that make, and has anyone worked out a solution. Particularly if I am syncing things up to the cloud to save space on my device, I'm not sure how to use my ecosystem correctly and then share an album with others. [link] [comments] |
