Macbook Pro 2016 wifi goes out when using USB type-c to HDMI or HDD.

    Can someone explain this issue?

Does this still occur in High Sierra or macbook pro 2017?

    First ever MacBook

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:58 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

I've been wanting to switch to a MacBook for some time now. But I don't know which model will suit me best.

I currently have a HP Pavilion x360 (http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pavilion-x360-convertible-laptop-13t-touch-v5m17av-1) This laptop serves me well for everything I need in a laptop. Which Apple MacBook will be closest to this HP model in terms of ports and power?

    Thanks

Adding SSD to co-worker's Macbook, few questions

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 10:31 AM PST

    Hey r/macbook

I'm helping a co-worker upgrade her Macbook Pro with an SSD. She has a mid-2010 macbook pro with a 5400 rpm hdd, and I know it's possible to replace the DVD drive with an SSD and enclosure, but I had a few questions:

    1) Are both SATA interfaces equal? Would it be beneficial for the SSD to be installed where the HDD is currently or where the CD drive is currently. Are they both SATA 3?

    2) There's a lot of SDD enclosures on Amazon, is there one that is recommended? Any reputable brands?

    3) An SSD is a great upgrade, but this is a core 2 duo @ 2.4ghz and 4gb of RAM, should I upgrade more than this?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Microsoft Word on Office 365 destroying battery

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:22 AM PST

Hello all. I have a 2017 MBP with touch bar. I use Microsoft Word all day via Office 365 (latest version of everything). A few days ago I noticed my battery way below what it normally is, so I checked, and Word was using well over 100 energy in activity monitor. I restarted the app and my computer, and it got a little better, but it's still using well over 80 energy when I have it open. Any help would be great.

Bought a 2017 MacBook, feel regret...

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:46 AM PST

...because of the 2018 Macbook's/Pro's just around the corner. Don't get me wrong, I really like 12" MacBook form factor and its super portability, but won't the 8th generation Intel CPU's be a massive improvement compared to the 7th generation and worth waiting for?

Will the 12" MacBook ever have a quad core CPU?
