Steps to backup and restore bootcamp partition using Paragon Hard Disk Manager? Posted: 12 Jan 2018 03:53 PM PST I currently have Windows 10 installed via bootcamp partition on Mac A. I would like to backup this partition using Paragon Hard Disk Manager for Mac. I would then like to restore this backup onto Mac B (which currently does not have a bootcamp partition) in order to have my bootcamp partition on Mac B. However, I would also like to save said backup for later use and future restores onto new Macs. Preferably, I'd like to save it as a single file so it is easy to manage. I also might be restoring this backup to a larger partition size than what was originally used to create said backup, so I will also need a way to make Windows System Volume info match the actual size of the NEW partitions (preferably using Windows Disk Management). What are the exact step-by-step directions to do this? Thank you everyone for your help! [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2018 12:35 PM PST I have a 2017 MacBook Pro and when I close my laptop (on sleep) for a few hours and open it again, the mail app seems to be opened automatically. There's nothing in the list of apps that automatically open when I sign in. Is this a normal behavior? Is there any way to prevent this? [link] [comments]
Looking for an Internet data tracking app... Posted: 12 Jan 2018 10:07 AM PST Hi guys, I will be working on a ship that has limited (and expensive) internet access through satellites. The way it works is I can get a certain number of MBs for $$ I pay in advance. Now I'm looking for an app both for my Mac and my iPhone that I can just use this way:
Is there such an app? Thanks in advance for all your recommendations. [link] [comments]
Why does force touch stop working after a few hours? Posted: 12 Jan 2018 06:52 AM PST EDIT: I MEANT TO SAY THE FORCE CLICK ON THE TRACKPAD Is there any way to fix this? I always have to restart. How do I report this bug? Anyone else have this issue? [link] [comments]
Can We Trust the Apple App Store to keep out Meltdown/Spectre Attacks Posted: 12 Jan 2018 06:50 PM PST With the recent vulnerability of all CPUs on all Apple products, can we trust Apple to keep potential attacking software out of the App stores? Can we simply restrict all of our software installations from now on, to come from the official APP stores, will Apple know to kill off any offending apps, that have any hint of code that may exploit the Meltdown and Spectre security holes? Time Machine: Cleaning up - How long should this phase take? Posted: 12 Jan 2018 06:44 PM PST So I've finally got a network drive to backup to. The backup itself took a lot longer than I expected, but finally finished after a few days of having goes at it on and off. Then it went to "cleaning up". It stayed on this for > 24 hours, awake the whole time. This morning the macbook installed the security update, and rebooted. When it came back up, Time Machine did another 2Gb of backup to the network drive, and has now gone back to "Cleaning Up" again. Not really too bothered, it looks like a backup has been done, but still, curious why it's taking so long on this part. Is there any way to look into what it's actually doing? [link] [comments]
My music is missing from the HDD. What on earth is going on?! Posted: 12 Jan 2018 10:06 AM PST So just today iTunes started notifying me that some of my music tracks are missing. I went to my folder where I keep it (custom path) and it seems that it has shrunk from 20GB to 9GB. WTH? I haven't removed any tracks or anything, I don't have anything in the trash either. What could be causing this?! Yes, I am using Apple Music and yes I can download them from the iCloud, but I want the actual files on my HDD. What can I do to get things back? [link] [comments]
Applications for my new Macbook Pro? Posted: 12 Jan 2018 03:10 PM PST I just upgraded from a 2013 13in Air to a 2017 13in Pro and wanted to know what free apps/programs I should download! Thank you. [link] [comments] |
